Bad experience

The room was so cold and the radiators were not warm enough. There was a strange smell in the room. I had to leave in few hours after arrival, I didn’t stay at all and no refund was made.

Fine stay, but bad location

Owner was nice. Bed was good. Internet was fine. I had kettle in a room what was great. It was only 15 minutes walk to a harbour.

Lady who greeted me show me wrong room, walls was very thin and I heard every time people from next room. Location wasn't nice and I didn't feel safe to walk there to house after dark. Room was much smaller, than on pictures. Pipes was making very strange noises. There was spiderwebs on the walls.

Served its purpose

Although very central and walk into Plymouth. The general area was very poor and neglected would not stay again when I visit my son. 4 Alma Street was clean and tidy it was satisfactory.

I didn’t feel very safe in the general area even though we were only a short walk to town centre. The room the shower was ok but the en-suite had been shoe horned into the room. I will not stay again.

Could have done with a change of towels as stayed 5 nights but maybe I should have asked. No bath mat which would have been handy so using towel for the duration of the stay

The hosts were friendly and helpful. The room had a private bathroom, a fridge, microwave and tv, and the bed was comfortable. We liked that there was a shared kitchen, that was well equipped. The tv offers lots and lots of channels and choices. There is no room cleaning, but the hosts provided fresh towels and more instant coffee upon request. WiFi was excellent.

The pictures show a coffee machine in the shared kitchen with capsules, but it wasn't there. Only a water heater and instant coffee in the room. There is a washing machine and a dryer that you can use for free. BUT the washing machine misses all control knobs, so it was not possible to wash clothes that don't survive 60°. The overall impression is that you get what you pay for. It is cheaper than most accomodations but it is not cheap though. So I would have liked it a little bit cleaner and a little bit better maintained.

Good priced and close to Center

The host let us park in the free car park spot they had and cut us an extra set of keys which I appreciated a lot as me and the room mate were in and out at different times. The location was walking distance to the Center and the room was beautiful.

A lovely stay

The owners were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Allowed me to check in early when I requested to store luggage, use the washing machine, store luggage when I left. The room was really spacious - it was great having a fridge, kettle and microwave in the room, but access to the full kitchen downstairs if needed. Having a desk and really comfy desk chair was great, the bed was comfy, plenty of plug sockets, WiFi signal good. Loved it and would highly recommend

You get what you pay for.

Friendly helpful owners. Good location to get to Barbican and Hoe. Dog friendly. Reasonable price Nice to have tea & coffee with chocolates in the room. Clean.

Room smelt of sewage. Bed uncomfortable. Hot so window open which was noisy early Saturday morning (6:00am) from the scrap metal yard opposite. Not a formal parking space so didn’t feel car was safe.

Everything it was dirty. Cold the location left me in the blue. The fact that u took 2 payments one of 414.00 still not paid bk to me I would like sorted. I am very ill and need the refund please.

Very poor

This was far from what I expected. The kitchen smelled awful and when I arrived in the bedroom, it felt unclean therefore I didn't stay. The location was also very poor and disapointing.

I contacted the owner and asked for a discount as I was booked in for 4 days and didnt stay one and had to find alternative accommodation and he did not return my messages.

Average place. Parking nightmare

The house in general was relatively clean. The facilities were all there. Everything you needed to make your stay comfortable was provided in the rooms and kitchen.

The parking arrangements was a nightmare. Confusion around where to park. Charged for parking, yet trying to cram 4 cars in a space just about big enough for two. Got confirmation from the guy who allegedly runs the house that I could cut my visit short and get a refund, only to be told later, once I'd already paid for another place, that it was not possible. Then the owner completely cuts me off and refuses to answer any of my messages. Annoying to say the least. A little expensive for what it is.

Perfect for me.

A lovely, spacious, clean room, the facilities are excellent. Perfectly located for walking to the Barbican, the Hoe and town centre etc. The staff are very friendly and efficient, but not intrusive.
