I recently stayed at Ramada by Wyndham Harrisonburg, and it was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. From the moment I stepped into the room, I was appalled by the conditions.
First, the room reeked of an unbearable smell that made it difficult to even sit inside, let alone sleep. The walls were concrete and poorly painted, giving the space a cold, prison-like feel. Basic amenities were either missing or unacceptable—there was no fresh toilet paper, and the smoke detector was off the wall and sitting on top of the fridge, which is a major safety concern.
The shelving in the room was nothing more than cheap utility shelves, and the bathtub was dirty and clearly not cleaned. Worst of all, I found bodily fluids on the floor, which was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable for any hotel. Additionally, the bed was not the queen-sized bed I had booked, but rather a smaller full-size bed.
I contacted the staff to address these issues, and while they assured me someone would follow up, no one did until I pushed repeatedly. Although I eventually received a refund, the lack of professionalism and the state of the room were unacceptable.
If you’re considering staying here, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. This experience was nothing short of a nightmare.

Room smelled exceptionally bad. There were cockroaches in the bathroom. The shower adjustment knob fell off

A little bit worn out and a bit noisy….

Brief visit to attend Band Day at JMU. Good location just off I-81 and a short walk to a Cracker Barrel. Motel personnel friendly and helpful and room comfortable.

This property is old and had a cheap face lift. Bathroom door was broke, horrible tile work throughout. For the money I should have stayed elsewhere. I would not recommend this property unless you are in a pinch.
2.5
I stay here whenever I’m in the area, it is the best hotel for the price.

This Ramada was very dirty, the first room we were in did not lock every time I shut it and needed to be slammed shut for lock to catch. The second room was safer lock wise but still dirty. The bathroom had dirt in the corners and hair in the tub. The shower curtain was stained and looked like it was not changed out in awhile. the bedroom floor was dirty as well and both rooms smelled of moth balls. We never unpacked from the car and left a day earlier than planned. I was very disappointed and I’ve stayed in a lot of Ramadas over the years and US.
The pictures of the amenities and rooms were mostly of the Microtel on the same property with the Ramada an outdated run down looking place behind it.

A good night sleep and a good breakfast the next morning was a good thing to have.

When we got there we found a few mothballs in the sink. The room did smell slightly of mothballs after that.
Saw a few bugs in the bathroom.

Quick check in and clean room. Bathroom fixtures need to be fixed and small roaches killed.

Great price for a room.

Was not able to block outdoor lighting from entering the room. Sleep was difficult as room was not dark. Despite closed curtains, the lights were so bright, it seeped into the room from side and bottom edges of the curtains. Perhaps longer curtains would be better suited for this room.

We had a good stay. The pool was cold but that's due to the time of year. The service was great. Some things in the room wouldn't work but it didn't change our experience any.

We did not have hot water. We were only there to sleep and shower. We couldn’t do that. We will never stay at the Ramada again. We wasted our money!

I stay here regularly, but I had to give a low rating for comfort, because there was no hot water in the morning.

A so so stay. The room was ok at best. You get what you pay for.

No wifi in room, room key didn't work, breakfast buffet was in hotel next door (it rained), breakfast buffet and coffee were cold and without flavor, towels were made out of cardboard.

Property was very clean and easy to get to from the interstate

The room okay -clean and adequate. However; a few issues that needed to be addressed: The hvac (heating unit) needed some attention made very loud noises rattling and whirring during operation. Disturbed sleep!
Hot water was only like warm.

The lady at the front desk last night at check in was very friendly and helpful. The room really needs some updates. Bed was definitely not a queen ( more like a full) very squeaky and uncomfortable.

Door shut and locked, but a quarter inch gap let the cold air in. Had to stuff it with towels and put pillows against the door to help block cold air.

Exactly what you need for a good night's sleep quiet and that's what you need

The man who checked me in was SO sweet and friendly. I didn't catch his name (he checked me in around 8:45pm), but his warm attitude made the stress from a 12 hour drive melt away. Will be back again.

Very comfortable, clean room. All appliances are clean and work.
