Very decent hotel. Extensive set of buildings with an excellent swimming pool and sauna. Pub next door was good with great food.

The staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful at all times

Nice one night stay

Stayed two nights for a wedding, breakfast was nice but thought rooms was a bit expensive, very nice place though.

Lovely setting, very helpful and friendly staff and brilliant being dog friendly.

Nice property.
2.5
Plenty of free parking, (no nasty ANPR cameras), reception friendly, room clean and spacious, nice pub on the side for food and drinks, pool for a swim, no road noise, breakfast in a lovely grand room and all staff polite.
2.5
Beautiful room with excellent facilities and the staff were excellent.

I can't fault my stay at the wonderful Orton Hall. The setting was beautiful, the building attractive and well-maintained, the staff fantastic, the food excellent, the spa and general atmosphere very relaxing and comfortable. I had a blissful time and would gladly return.

Lovely property with a very spacious room and comfortable bed. Bathroom was very clean with bath and shower. Some of the furnishings seemed a little dated and stained but overall the room was lovely. All the staff were very processional and friendly. Breakfast was very good. Also had an evening meal at the restaurant next door which was really good.
1.5
Breakfast was good
Room was up in the eaves
No lift
Decor is so dated and old.
Room hot and stuffy but they gave us a fan
Hairdryer was tiny and yellowed and sounded like a 2-stroke, advices you take your own
Paint chipped in areas and they have fire doors on the bathroom and cupboard so they won’t stay open.
So much unnecessary furniture in the room. Huge chest of drawers plus another one under the tv.
2.5
Easy parking, lovely staff. Room was beautiful. Building has lots of character and grounds lovely. Breakfast was average. Fire Alarm and evacuation in the middle of the night was dealt with well.

Overall we had an enjoyable, relaxing weekend.
We had a triple room with a garden/courtyard view from both windows. It was an unusually hot weekend so the room was really warm but there was a fan which we had on all the time we were in the room. The room was spacious, clean and very comfy beds. The buffet breakfast was good quality, hot and we all enjoyed it both days. The swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were very nice but we were disappointed with the changing room on both days - both showers and the toilet were dirty and in desperate need of a re-furb. There were just 4 loungers around the pool. We were fortunate to get one each but the cushions kept sliding off so were very uncomfortable (they just needed the ties to be sewn back on). The floor tiles around the pool were extremely slippery and despite walking very cautiously I did slip twice and my daughter slipped and fell (she wasn’t hurt just embarrassed). I would recommend poolside shoes. There is a relaxation area just aside from the pool with loungers which we would have liked to use but noisy young children had turned it into a play den. Children were also using jacuzzi. We knew children could use the pool at certain times but feel the relaxation area and jacuzzi should be for adults only, particularly as the hotel offers spa days.

Beautiful surroundings for our girls spa day. Dinner and drinks afterwards was a perfect end to our relaxing day.

The location, grounds and building are all amazing. It was lovely having a walk around the building in the evening and looking at all the interesting parts.
The pool was also really nice with a jacuzzi and steam room.
All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice.
Only downside was the room could do with a spruce up. A bit dated and some stains on the floor but nothing that ruined our experience.

This is a beautiful historic property and we loved staying here!

Terrible 2 nights. Banging of neighbouring rooms. No facilities ie water fridge. No slippers or robes for spa area. Cold breakfasts. Would definitely say possibly one of the worst hotels.
2.0
Nice place. Had a massive room, dated but that's in keeping with the place. Breakfast is good, and some staff friendly at breakfast. Evening meal on site not that great for the money. Didn't use the spa, so can't comment, looked ok when walked past it.
My TV in the room was broken.
If within budget worth going again.
Parking is free which is a bonus. Fairly quiet area.

Lovely old stately home

Great place to stay on business. Very clean and warm spa facilities, great choice of restaurants and food, very friendly and helpful service, lovely large bedroom with desk, over looking the garden and very quiet. Good WiFi without extra charges. Will definitely stay again rather than at a hotel chain. Highly recommend.
2.5
A really lovely hotel. Definitely would stay here again

Spacious rooms. Quiet, with good short walk areas around. Some staff service was fairly average, but others were very helpful. Good breakfast.
Gym not for enthusiasts, very minimalistic. No weights for avid gym enthusiasts.
Overall, but fair if looking for a quiet time and safe stay for business and some leisure as there is a spar.
2.5
A beautiful setting, wonderful old but modernised building. Staff very good and polite. Breakfast excellent.
Lively quiet location with lots of scenic walks.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Food delicious. Beds super comfy. Building and gardens a little tired and in need of investment.

Rooms are showing their age and could do with an update. Grounds are pleasant but our room overlooked the graveyard which wasn't ideal

Pub next door, good pool.

Staff were all helpful and friendly, Room was spacious and clean, bed comfy

Comfortable stay
Decent massage
Avoid parking under trees! Car completely covered with bird poo from the largest pigeons!! Reception said they had never seen it that bad but maintenance laughed when I asked for a hose to connect to their tap just outside the entrance - the worst job trying to clean in a suit on the way to a meeting!
1.5
Great setting and the swimming pool is a good size. However room felt a bit tired and i felt the general look inside also had dated. Staff were friendly and attentive - just a bit disappointed as the outside of hotel promises so much more!

Lovely stay.
Comfy room. Friendly helpful staff.

Very pleased with everything apart from finding our car badly smattered with bird droppings at breakfast. Reception provided me with water etc to give the car a bit of a clean. We’ll try to avoid parking under trees next time we stay!

The property needs some updating ive stayed in a couple of rooms this week, one with four poster ( nice but the room was tired ceiling cracks and old carpet) bed very comfortable, breakfast buffet is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food in the bar is basic pub food always very tasty . Also Good beer on tap.

This hotel was nice.....once......some time ago! It's now in need of a complete renovation to get it out of the 'very tired' category. I think they may have started (Room 249) but it'll be a long old process and I won't be staying again until after it's completed. There is no way it's a 4* hotel and despite the bed being relatively comfortable, there was more rust on the pipes of the radiator in my room than on my 22 year old Honda Jazz! Staff are okay - esp in the attached pub - but the hotel has, sadly, seen much better days.

Stayed one night for a business trip. Staff were great. Beautiful building and grounds, good breakfast selection with decent coffee.
The only downside was how loud and echoing the staircases and fire doors are.

Will stay again for sure

nice location
