Food poisoning from restaurant

Very good, although maintenance was not equal to the overall experience. The door facing was missing so opening it with the card was a confusing to begin with.

Excellent stay for an excellent price.
Location was good for me!
The gym has seen better days and is in need of up to date equipment.

In general, this hotel is fine - comfortable and in a nice spot next to one of the Frensham ponds.
However, my wife tried to walk down the disabled ramp the first morning of our stay. The ramp was covered in moss, with a leaky gutter above keeping it wet all day. It was like an ice rink. She slipped and almost broke her hip. I tried to help her and nearly fell myself. This is despite both of us wearing hiking boots with excellent grip. If you use the stairs, there is no issue as there was no moss on those. But ramp users either are disabled or are likely to become disabled.
We registered the accident and it was recorded in the accident register. I expected some communication afterwards, but nothing happened. We checked out the next day and still nothing. Before we left, I decided to try the disabled ramp again to see if the moss had been cleaned - it had not, as you can see on the photo and I nearly slipped again despite being very cautious.
So there you go: this is actually a nice hotel, but with the staff not fixing safety issues even after they have been pointed out, I am not sure I can recommend it at the moment. If they fix the issue and apologise properly, I might change my mind - I would have to check with the wife first though, as she is still in pain from the fall.

Lovely setting but despite the hotel seeming fairly empty we were allocated a room with a view of the road. We were only there a night. Very comfy bed. Plenty of parking. Parking signs outside don’t state that hotel guests don’t have to pay. Hotel seemed a bit short of service at breakfast.

Staff just seemed a bit clueless most of time but the bed was good

Breakfast was served so late I missed it.

When I arrived I tried to pay for parking but couldn't, so I asked at reception about parking the member of staff wasn't very responsive. I came away not knowing if I had to pay for parking or not. Another guest had to tell me that I didn't need to pay for parking.
Breakfast: I had paid £19 for my breakfast and on the menu it was £16+ for full english and £3.50 for other item. So I asked if I could have pancakes, the waitor said could only have if I paid another £3.50. I said this was much less food than the full enlish and what I paid. he came back saying that the manager had said the same. I then went for the full english. When he brought it it was cold and he took it back. He then brought out another plate and the food on that was cold too.
I gave up and didn't bother to ask again.
When I checked out the man at the desk wasn't interested and didn't respond when I told him what had happened. Even when I said that they may get not to good a review. He still never responded.
What a shame because the hotel was in such an amazing spot and the room was so comfortable.

Service at the hotel was good however the hotel is looking a bit tired. Noticed a few things needed touch ups for example where you scanned the key on the door was broken and just a hole, the wardrobe was falling apart. The WiFi at the hotel didn’t reach our room and due to the location you don’t get signal either. This was raised with reception during our stay.
The shower was a bad design, it was great because it was powerful but meant that water would shoot past the glass panel and the floor was a pool. Which was dangerous given the shiny floor.
Dinner in the restaurant was lovely however it didn’t have much of a restaurant feel. There was only 1 member of staff on who was juggling the bar also. With another member of staff who popped by to help. So it felt like you were just dining in a random room rather than a restaurant.
We didn’t use the spa as this was an additional cost and from what you could access didn’t feel worth the money which is a shame as we tend to book a hotel with a spa to use it.

Lovely location, nice rooms and very comfortable, staff were a little short on the ground and this impacted customer service.

Extremely helpful reception and restaurant staff - with the exception of a dessert serving blip. I asked for a room with wheelchair access and got exactly that: parking immediately adjacent to the ground floor room with a wet room. Very easy. A good overnight stay.

I booked one room and I had my brother came to see me. It was going to get late at night to I told him to stay with us . When I checked in I asked front desk if I can have room with sofa and she told me that I we don't have room with sofa in hotel. I end up book him room for two days, When I were checking out I went to his room and saw he had sofa. I don' complain about anything, but I feel they tricked me to book 2nd room which I didn't want to. You can see I booked extra room on day I checked in. Kindly let me if you can give me refund for that room as they should have honest about it. I hope you can help. Thank you.

Second time to this hotel and the staff are very friendly and welcoming, excellent customer service from Vidan who could not do enough for you, we were surprised to get an upgrade to a suite, our room was clean, bright, modern & all the facilities you need in a room. Great choice of food for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Used the spa facilities for a fee & great choice of treatments with Elemis products. Lovely outside grounds where you can eat, drink & enjoy the view of the Frensham pond.

The hotel is in a beautiful location by Frensham Pond. It's very peaceful and there are some lovely walks nearby.
The staff are absolutely fantastic, friendly and so helpful and really helped make our stay what it was. We were in a garden room with a little outside area which was clean, comfortable and had all the usual amenities.
I had two treatments in the spa which were fantastic!
A couple of things made this a good stay rather than a great stay. Firstly, the garden areas needed attention. The plants were dying as they weren't being watered, and there were broken slabs, chipped stairs and a lot of old cigarette ends in the flowerbeds. I'd expect a hotel to have maintenance keep this up to date, especially as Housekeeping were fantastic.
Secondly, the dining really let it down. You'd expect somewhere like this to have a great restaurant and for to be busy with both guests and local people, especially as there's nothing really local to it. Instead it has tired brown chipboard tables, marked walls and no ambience, very much like you'd get in a budget hotel. The food itself was well cooked but the chef was clearly doing his best with a shoestring budget. This is the wrong area to be cutting costs as it could be a great destination restaurant but it was more akin to a quick bite in a Travelodge but at premium prices.
This wouldn't put us off staying but as we'd have to drive somewhere to eat it might not make it first choice again.

The hotel is lovely and staff very nice but the service is not very quick? Waited over half an hour for a cheese sandwich and the following day half an hour for a quick prawn sandwich. Staff very nice though but breakfast not the best sadly. Had booked for 3 days breakfast but only had the first one and cancelled the remainder

No lift but I knew that when booking. Lovely staff. Very good accommodation but I think a larger lounge would be good.
Wonderful outlook - just a shame there does not appear to be a decent walk/track around the pond. Not the fault of the hotel!

We book for the holiday to enjoy the SPA, when we went there the receptionist said you have to pay £30.00 per person and it’s only two hours a day, it was very disappointed. It’s a small area spa no swimming pool??
And when we went inside the room there was no fridge to put our medication and the room phone not working, again the reception lady said no fridge in any of our room,☹️ when we check out next day one of the reception gentleman said some room got fridge??, it’s confusing us, other than that good staff and very clean hotel

The hotel decor is pretty dated, it was also incredibly noisy at night - you could hear pipes / showers from neighbouring room.

We had a Lovely stay at this Hotel, Good Location, Nice room, Evening Meal very Good, Breakfast Good. All in all a nice Stay.

Friendly staff made us very welcome. Garden room was delightful. Well situated at the side of Frensham Pond. Meals were really good and reasonably priced. Restaurant staff were excellent too.

Surprised by the cost about how run down it is, needs an update. A cheaper price would be more reflective of the hotel. Breakfast was nice. Our room was loud as it was situated right by the car park entrance, continuous flow of people no privacy.

The outside needed a cleaning. There were spiders and their webs everywhere.

Great location, with the restaurant and terrace right on the shore of Frensham Pond. The general vibe was a bit corporate, with an obvious emphasis on conferences and functions, but pleasant enough overall.
Excellent value for money at the rate I got for a Sunday night. All the staff were super helpful and pleasant. Double room was a decent size, with room for a sofa, chair and desk, and totally quiet at night. Clean modern bathroom with a good range of toiletries.
Bar and restaurant menu for dinner was ok and reasonably priced. Hot food at the buffet breakfast was good. Continental breakfast options were a bit limited though - really could have done with a choice of bread, croissants etc - the only bread available was white and brown sliced for toast. Still, that's my only criticism so pretty good overall.

Hotel is excellent. Food and service excellent too. Except the spa. That was fully booked - but regardless - it’s £140 per person to use the tiny pool and steam room. That’s crazy.

The staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived very early because we had a funeral to attend and they gave us our room to change before the 3pm check in time. The room was lovely and clean with all the usual stuff I expect for 4* hotels. Eg. Tea and coffee, water and washing products. The restaurant was good and the food was nice. Breakfast was good value.
