El Balata was such a great place to stay in. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone who visits Samana. Virginia was incredible and helped us with whatever we needed. Thank you for an amazing time and experience.

It’s a nice quiet hotel. Clean and the rooms are nice. The staff is nice but barely speaks english. The location is Ok. You can walk to Punta popy beach about 25-30 minutes walk but otherwise u will need to take a mototaxi to any other place. They are not strict with check out time.

This is a really nice bed and breakfast type place. It is basically brand new. In my opinion, a family borrowed a million dollars and built a 16 room hotel next to and above their own home. The rooms are brand new, 3 story tall. They have a large parking area in front of the house with secure vehicle gates, etc.
It is not a party place, it is a low-cost family place, very quiet after 8 or 10 pm. It is very clean and new, and operated by a high class, charming woman who speaks some English. Her 3 or 4 kids are learning English in school. They are cute and clean, they take their sandals off before entering the house or any guest room.
The location is on the main road 2 miles east of Las Terrenas. I would recommend it to any family on holiday, and for guys who don't want to party. But the lady does sell beer to her customers.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Victoria was excellent in providing service, and helped out wherever she could. I would stay here again, it was very quiet and peaceful. It is a bit of a walk to the beach, but it is one of the best beaches in the area.

Very comfortable apartments in a quiet secluded house. Virginia is a great hostess. The grounds are very well maintained.
