I booked this stay as a treat for parents - the room was pricier than our normal budget but thought would be nice as a treat given great reviews. However I would not stay here again or recommend the room:
1. 1 biscuit, 2 water provided for 3 people - however upon asking the correct number provided.
2. The bedroom was nicely decorated (although harsh white table lights). However it was a sweat box at night with no ac. There were two windows to open but this did not cool down the room at night.
3. The windows when shut do not drown out the sound of the bell tower opposite - ringing every hour in the hour throughout the night (waking us up), drunk people on the street, or the noisy morning traffic.
4. The bath/shower is not accessible - neither my mum or dad (active/ able bodied but less flexible than past) unable to get into the bath due to the large tiles between the floor and bath (see image). For £120 a night not being able to use the wash facility, being in an intolerably hot room and being woken up throughout the night was not what I expected.
Moreover, we ate at the restaurant the night before. My mum ordered ribs and was served ribs tips - the breastbone with cartiledge. A check back was given at the end and the waitress said we should have said earlier - looking at the meat left it was clear there was lots of cartiledge strips and she agreed ribs should not be like that. She gave a credit for half the meal.

Service excellent and staff very friendly and accommodating.
Only 3 stars as outside room was noisy in night and no hot water. So unable to wash and have a shower. Informed in morning but only a cleaner about.

Reasonable stay at The Seven Stars, with informative staff. However there were a couple observations. Firstly the noise from the street and the town clock; I can appreciate that the hotel has no control over this but if you're looking for a quiet room then room "Dawn Run" will not be for you. Secondly for the cost of the room I would expect a controllable shower, one with thermostatic control, rather than just a hose and showerhead from a standard bath mixer. Showering was uncomfortable due to significant temperature fluctuations. I was unable to notify saff this morning as there was no one around.

Great place to stay above a pub

The service was great and the locationanazing. The walls however were very thin and we could hear all the noise from the pub and the kitchen downstairs in the morning.
Also there was an emergency exit light in the room which was very large and therefore it lit the whole room up and disturbed our sleep.

well positioned, nice hotel great staff

Really nice family room and dogs welcome for extra charge. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Only drawback is that front rooms are opposite the town clock that, for reasons best known to them, have the bells chime throughout the night, all night. Did not get any sleep on the first night, managed to buy some earplugs for the 2nd night.
4.3
Very noisy! Church bells each hour all night.

Discovering Ledbury was wonderful

Lovely historic building, great restaurant and pub. It’s a very old property so you will hear people moving around.
Highly recommended; comfortable spacious room and very friendly staff.
Stayed in the Arkle room.

We really enjoyed staying here, right on the main street in a spacious comfortable room. I appreciated that renovations of the building were in keeping with its age. Friendly service & a good bar meal downstairs.

Beautiful old building, great room, really friendly staff.

The Seven Stars is a beautiful Inn, great atmosphere, I have visited many times, although this was our first time of staying overnight and I have to say I am disappointed. We stayed in a family room above the bar and wasn't warned about the noise! We wasn't left 3 towels for the 3 of us staying, nor were we left 3 cups and the room was not cleaned over our stay.
We didn't eat breakfast at the Inn, as went out, although we wasn't told times of the breakfast period.
I have since contacted the Seven Stars regarding the stay. Admittedly I should notified them during the stay, but after only 3 hours sleep, we wasn't prepared for confrontation, but needless to say, we wasn't offered any kind of compensation, just an email saying that we had been told things , even tho we wasn't!
Great place to drink, but wouldn't return to stay!

There were no overnight staff on the premises. I wonder who could have helped if there were problems. (The building is very old and could have burned down as previously)

Very friendly staff, very welcoming. Meal in the bar in front of the fire was lovely and reasonably priced.
Would have liked mugs in the room as making tea with a teabag in a tiny cup was difficult.
Would recommend.

Older property, beautifully renovated with an excellent bathroom.
4.3
great clean large well appointed rooms/ bit noisey during opening times from bar below, but bearable
4.3
Nice hotel with interesting wood panelling in the room.friendly staff.
4.3
Old building, so quite creaky. Good bathroom and large comfortable bed. Room above bar and little sound-proofing, so music and laughing until pub closing time.
4.3
Large clean character room with en suite. One Double One single.Parking near by ( Council ) £6 for 24 hrs

Staff, restaurant and location was excellent … only negative was that the beds tilted due to the flooring structure; therefore, the sleeping was not very comfortable … not sure how the could remedy that but if they could then this hotel would be a 10 in my book. 😊

Staff were very helpful, cheerful and friendly. Lovely building and location. Room was comfortable and cosy. Very dog friendly staff. Ledbury is a very nice town, lots of independent shops and great walks nearby.
4.3
Excellent rooms and service, but be warned the rooms are right above the bar, and the Christmas sound track and conversations were very loud until the bar closed at midnight! If you are looking for a quiet or early night I consider staying somewhere else.
4.3
Loved the character and history of the building. The beds were comfy and we had all that we needed for an overnight stay
4.3
Beautiful spacious room, only problem incurred was no mirror in bedroom to do hair & make-up; location was lovely and dripped in history, would definitely stay here again and without hesitation recommend to friends & family
4.3
Great overnight stay. Food was excellent & the service was spot on.

Hotel room was ok though the wonky floor in my “Dawn Run”took some getting used to. What wasn’t ok was the hydronic noise from the adjacent room. When they flushed their loo (which was quite often even during the night, the noise as their cistern refilled was REALLY loud and unacceptable, especially as the room wasn’t cheap. The hotel must be aware of this issue. I wanted to let them know in the morning but there was no one around to discuss it with.
4.3
Lovely little pub-hotel in a Tudor building. We stayed in the room named Dawn Run which had quite a low ceiling (I’m about 191cm and couldn’t stand up fully) and a slanted floor, but I felt it added to the character of the building and town.
4.3
Stayed here for a few nights on business. The room was clean and tidy, and the staff friendly. Situated in the town centre above a public bar, but was very peaceful. Food was also very good
4.3
Nice central location , building has lots of character. Lovely food .
4.3
Stayed in dawn run for work purposes.Nice comfy room, food and facilities good .The window doesn’t close ( there is secondary pane ) however in quite windy conditions it was a bit of a pain and the noise of pub sign swinging in the breeze was quite constant . If ur a light sleeper perhaps opt for a room facing the rear of the property. Lots of character , beams and sloping floors. Nice Quiet town
4.3
A beautiful old building, full of character, with lovely facilities and very clean. Unfortunately we could hear lots of noise through the walls from the other guests.
4.3
The Severn Stars is a lovely pub to stay in. Great food in the restaurant and staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Beautiful Tudor rooms but still airy and spacious. Ledbury is a quaint little market town but enough to keep us occupied for an afternoon and evening.
4.3
Lovely location. Friendly staff and great food. Will definitely stay again.
4.3
Pub is centrally situated in Ledbury. Staff were friendly and efficient at checkin and happy to accommodate 2 bikes in a secure location ( the wine and spirit store). We ate in the pub on the first evening and the food was very good, the beef and ale pie was excellent. Food is sourced locally where possible. The pub dates back to 16th century which explains one of the problems, namely the ceilings in the bedrooms are extremely low. My husband, who is 5ft 10inches had only a couple of inches clearance from the ceiling. However there was a low beam at one side of the room which he had to duck under to move round the bed and on several occasions forgot. Ouch! I understand that our room had the lowest ceiling. The other problem for us was that our room faced the high street ( as do 2 of the 3 rooms) which had passing traffic all night. If you are used to night time noise this would not be a problem but worth bearing in mind.
