Good location for a stopover on our way down to Somerset. Fantastic, comfortable room with everything we needed including a dog bed and bowl. Lovely pub and staff that made us and our dogs feel welcome. Would definitely stay again.

Location, friendly staff, food

The staff were welcoming and friendly with a special mention to Summer who made sure we had everything we needed.
It is also dog friendly.
Unfortunately, the food let the overall stay down as was quite expensive for the quality of food.
The breakfast was awful, very well over coked for a full English and I would not recommend it.

We booked late so could not expect choice of rooms close together. The room was clean and quiet and had above average facilities. The staff that looked after us especially John and Summer were very helpful and the evening meal very good.
The overall exterior appearance could be improved by the use of a strimmer, cutting back on foliage and weeding. A lot of money has been spent on the property and it is a shame it is let down by the lack of gardening.

Steep stairs to bedroom.

Lovely staff, food was also lovely. Rooms are great and cosy. The only issue was the room was too hot even turning the radiator down the heating from the bathroom was intense and filled the bedroom. But we had the window open in the end even with -4 outside 😊

we’ve stayed before having the restaurant and pub on sight and the staff are all helpful and friendly
unfortunately we stayed during week this time and by nature of that a lot of work people staying so disturbed a lot by comings and going’s of workers which they couldn’t help which we didn’t get last time when we stayed over the weekend plus the menu is not as good as last visit they have reduced a lot of what was on offer which is a shame!

Loved the lodge. And the walk in shower was amazing. Breakfast was delicious. Very good value for money.
Very nit picky but the pillows were paper thin.
Overall an amazing stay, would definitely come back again!

Lovely room and amazing breakfast.
We expected music in the bar area, having a room in an Inn. However I would have expected this to be turned off at last orders and not 11.40.
We ate in the Inn on the evening. The steak was lovely unfortunately this was accompanied by cheap frozen french fries not chips as the menu suggested. Also the peppercorn sauce was like water.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the water hot. The food was pleasant but I thought it rather overpriced.
Breakfast was very basic with only a cereal choice of cornflakes or branflakes. The toast arrived with the cereal so was cold when we were ready to eat it.
In the bedroom none of the lights had switches on them, so we had to get out of bed to put the bedside lights off. The shower tray was as far away from the shower head as possible so had to go out of the water to collect soap etc, a bad design in my opinion. No extra blankets or pillows were provided and no bottled water in the room. However it did have sachets of hot chocolate which we appreciated, although we had to go to reception several times for enough milk to put in drinks.
We had great trouble with the heating system, the room was cold and the radiator turned off. During the late evening it did come on but not for long and we could not control it ourselves.
The location was more remote than I realised, we had some trouble to find it.
