About this house rental

Summary:
Situated on a quiet cul-de-sac overlooking Hooe Lake, this contemporary townhouse for four oozes peace and tranquillity. Enjoy watery views from the comfort of your front garden or with a cup of tea in bed, watching as boats and wildlife bob by. You’re only 10-minutes drive from Plymouth city centre, so pop in and out as you please. Meanwhile, Turnchapel and Mount Batten peninsular are just over the lake offering fantastic watersport activities. Find free private parking on the driveway.

The Space:
Gentle, calm and picturesque - it’s hard to imagine you’re just a 10-minute drive from Plymouth city centre. But here, you really do get the best of both worlds. Nestled away on the edge of Hooe Lake, this contemporary townhouse on the Old Wharf was built on the site of an old timber yard and quarry overlooking the remains of a railway bridge that once carried materials to site. Today, the water is filled with boats and wildlife - it’s lovely sitting out in your front garden and watching it all go by.

Inside, the house is as calm as its surroundings. On the ground floor, step into a reception area with a desk for working holidays and a sofa for relaxing. Plus, there’s a WC. Head upstairs to find a modern kitchen and dining room with everything you need to rustle up delicious holiday meals. After long days exploring, head to your main living area and settle into the sofas. In summer, fling open the double doors and soak up those stunning elevated views.

Two bedrooms are found on the top floor - one double and one with twin beds. Both share a family bathroom with a bath and shower. With so much of Plymouth and the surrounding area at your fingertips, get ready for a seaside holiday to remember.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the whole property and driveway.

The Neighborhood:
The townhouse is located in a quiet cul-de-sac in Oreston, overlooking Hooe Lake and Turnchapel. Nature and serenity surrounds the house, meanwhile Plymouth town centre is only a 10-minute drive away. You get the best of both worlds - enjoy all that the city offers, whilst exploring the stunning serenity of the South Hams coastline.

Turnchapel and Mount Batten are just a lovely 30-minutes walk or 8-minute drive away, boasting fantastic watersports activities and water-side pubs. Enjoy SUP and kayaking lessons with views looking out towards Plymouth’s historic Barbican area, the Hoe and across to Mount Edgcumbe. It is perfectly situated on the tidal estuary of The Sound, making it an ideal, and safe, location for people of all ages. The Mount Batten Ferry operates 365 days a year - making it a fantastic mode of transport to Plymouth from the house (plus you can avoid finding city parking!)

Plymouth is known as Britain's "ocean city"- home to breath-taking views with plenty to see and do. In the centre of town, you will find Drake Circus, the large shopping centre. Whilst further south you will discover Plymouth Hoe. With stunning views, it’s the perfect place to spend a sunny day, enjoying a picnic on the grass or taking a dip in the art deco Tinside Lido (open during the summer months).

If you'd like to mix your time in the city with some time out, it's easy to head to National Trust's Saltram. The beautiful Georgian house is just a 15 minute drive away, and is surrounded by acres of pretty grounds that make for lovely walking! In 20 minutes drive, you can also be at Bovisand Beach or Wembury Beach: both hidden gems. Discover more local tips and tricks in our Guest Guide, which is available on booking.

There is free parking on the private driveway just outside the house. However, if you do want to visit the property without bringing a vehicle - you can catch a train to Plymouth city centre and catch a bus or taxi to the house.
