We were given a warm welcome. The room was spotless, albeit rather small.

The hotel is lovely but coukd do with a few tweaks here and there. My window wouldnt close, towel rail was hanging on for dear life and nowhere to put shower gel/soap in the shower. Could do with a mini shelf in the shower. My room was next to a little utilities room containing a microwave, washings machine, dryer etc. This wad not great due to a couple deciding to do their washing at midnight. I was woken by the door violently rattling, i was literally scared the crap out of me and took me a couple of hours to get back to sleep. The staff were lovey and the hotel was very clean. I feel sorry for the owners because you can tell the surrounding area was once lovely but walking there from the train station, i felt i was not safe at all. Very much an eye opener of the decline of this county but this isnt the hotels fault obviously. The hotel has a bus stop outside that takes you to the city centre in 10 minutes which is very convenient. There's a Tesco a few minutes walk away which is very convenient. Lots of tea, coffee and milk available in the room which is a bonus. Usually not that many in hotel rooms and the mugs were a decent size as well. Soaps, shower gel, shampoos and conditioner provided also.

We stayed here for a night and couldn't rate it higher, specifically the 2 managers who were welcoming and accommodating from walking up the drive. Very much a family feel atmosohere - will be staying here again. No complaints
