From the moment we arrived the staff we re great, really friendly and welcoming, the rooms we,re lovely and food was excellent.

Old pub that has been sensitively and beautifully restored and maintained. Everything worked and although it was on a road it was quiet at night. The restaurant and the bar were welcoming with great service. Walks around the village were pretty and accessible.
Douvets are too hot when the weather is warm. Lighter bedding would have been welcome.

Location, meal and staff
Some cleanliness issues.

We did not have breakfast, as I had a very early appointment for surgery. The location is so lovely and unspoilt. The staff were excellent. The food was tasty and presented well. The whole atmosphere had a really lovely vibe.
I cannot really say there was anything I did not like. Being an extremely old building, my husband found the height of the roof near the toilet a 'bit of a challange' but hey, they had to fit everything in the bathroom, and the roof was build before the indoor plumbing!

One of the best places to stay in England IMO. V friendly, helpful & professional staff. Rooms really nicely equipped, laid out & furnished - plenty of space & quirky too. The food is delicious and all locally produced, which is important. They have Baron Bigod cheese as part of an excellent cheese selection. Great setting too - Bawburgh is a beautiful village a stone's throw from John Innes Centre field station
They're threatening to drop the Baron Bigod in favour of another local soft cheese. By all means add the new one, but don't drop the Baron - one of the main reasons I make the journey!

Staff were excellent, very friendly and made you feel welcome. Dinner was amazing
Only problem was we had a ground floor apartment and noise could be heard of the people walking around in the apartment above us. Also apartment was right by the road so traffic noise was also heard.

Beautiful rooms and the Village is a lovely place, perfect spot to stay for a wedding at Glen Lodge just up the road

Cosy and spacious. Very quaint. Great bed and bathroom.
The stairs were a struggle. Stairs within room were problematic. We left our suitcases in the car. Our room was definitely not for mobility impaired or elderly people. Could also be hot in summer as I didn’t see air conditioning

Friendly helpful staff, lovely picturesque country location. Comfortable bed and great shower. Quaint and thoughtfully decorated building.
The English heatwave we experienced made for a hot stay, however provided fan did help.

Staff, decor, ambiance and location all excellent.
The room was obviously "interior designed" and looked beautiful but furniture was totally impractical. Bed was small (room could of taken a king size bed) lamps on bed side lockers were oversized and no room for a book on top, just about room for a glass. The lockers did have a cupboard underneath but the opening mechanism was noisy so didn't use during the night as didn't want to wake husband. The hooks for hanging clothes were a stunning feature but again not practical and not enough hangers provided and the end hook couldn't be used because the hanger got caught in the door. Dressing table and mirror, again stunning, but the table top was full with tea/coffee/kettle/radio/glasses/mugs/tray etc, before we even put our belongings on. There was little room for luggage. The chair was ridiculously big, though beautiful, we used this for a case! The drawers provided, beautiful, but not big enough to be of any use. The blind at the window didn't reach the windowsill so didn't block out the sun, so I had to lay the curtains (that didn't close the full width of the window, because they were clearly for decoration purposes only) along the windowsill. The bathroom, again clean and lovely to look at, but there was nowhere to put our toiletries so we had to use the floor. The only shelf, under the sink, had a pretty tray with a jar on, so couldn't be used and was too small to be any use. The bathroom was spacious and could of taken a couple of small tables. The bin wasn't accessible as it was tucked down in the corner below the slope of the ceiling. I fully understand the building is old but this cannot be used as an excuse in this instance. I do feel that better, more practical furniture choices could be made to make the room and bathroom more user friendly.

located in a small village opposite a stream, great access to Norwich but in the country. We were cycling the Rebellion Way so the location worked for us as we had cars. great access and parking. our apartment was in an annexe and had 2 double rooms and huge living/ kitchen area. everything was clean, well maintained, good kitchen if you want to self-cater. staff very helpful before (asking questions about parking etc) and during stay. We arrived late and just got in before kitchen closed - food was good and tasty - we had fish and chips and special dessert. generally great value. they offer a breakfast menu so you pay only for what you order - menu covered everything from croissants to full English , eggs any way and avocado on toast with poached eggs. huge portions!
nothing to say here. staff really considerate and thoughtful!

Very comfortable small hotel in lovely setting. Food was superb.

convenient location for the show ground
form over function. looked nice but lacked attention to detail. so shower head not attached to wall. top of shower head had not been cleaned. electric radiator timer not set up. tea, coffee, milk in room not refreshed. so getting late from an event and finding that the room had not been made up and the tea making facilities were still depleted was very disappointing considering the price paid. there is also no sound insulation between the room and the bar below. so an early night is not an option without earplugs.

Fantastic facilities, rooms and apartments in a beautiful village. Location is very close to Norwich and surrounding areas. The restaurant and bar were excellent, so much so, we returned to the Hotel for dinner each night! Highly recommend this hotel.

The pub and grounds ate lovely. The rooms also are really quite beautiful. Toiletries provided are exceptional. Food is amazing. Staff were all very friendly while we were staying... see below for the flip side
We were asked if we would mind swapping to another room as the one we had been allocated had a guest staying who extended their stay last minute. We had no issue with this but were then told the room we were moved to was cheaper. We assumed it was just a little smaller and agreed in exchange for free breakfast. However when we got into the room it was very small with a mich smaller bed (double instead of king). As 2 female platonic friends together this was a bit awkward but we decided to not complain as the staff were so lovely. We headed out and back for dinner which we had reserved in advance. Food was pricey but delicious. My friend paid in full at the table. We had a fitful nights sleep but tried to see the funny side and left after breakfast. A couple of days later the hotel called claiming we had not paid for dinner. I explained we did not charge this to the room and my friend paid in full. I confirmed the time we sat down, time we left and what we ordered. I was then called numerous times chasing this "outstanding payment". I happened to be on holiday in NYC and was called in the early hours of the morning which was annoying to say the least. They refused to believe we had paid until I sent a copy of my friends bank transaction. Their was no apology until I messages them through booking.com. I found this super arrogant and lazy - they could have made a note, checked with staff, checked the receipts... but no, they continued to hassle me. They claim because we moved rooms the OTHER GUESTS were the ones that cut and ran without paying. Its a real shame because I would have written a great review for them but they were just so snooty and accusatory!
