The scenery and views are incredible, the team representing the hotel are the best I have had the privilege to meet and I stay in LOTS of hotels through my work.
The courtyard room we stayed in was a lovely little room and I imagine much better in the summer.
The golf course is a lovely touch and although it was wet and on temporary greens I think it would be brilliant in the summer.
A few hanging cobwebs from the ceiling and a musty damp smell in the courtyard room especially in the bathroom, perhaps a plug in freshener and dehumidifier may solve this.
If coming back at night the parking area and walkways are not lit sufficiently or signposted, where there is lighting it goes off too quick so I had to use my phone torch

Beautiful room in a lovely property. Peaceful location and lovely. Ideal for what we needed as a couple, a place to recharge in peace. We will definitely be back soon.

Odd bed configuration

Beautiful location with stunning scenery. As it’s a golf course, the grounds are immaculate and even if you don’t play it’s quite nice to sit outside and enjoy the views from the stylish seating areas. We were here for 2 nights in June in the bridal suite. We got married an hour or so away (didn’t realise you could actually get married at Welbeck Manor!). I would recommend looking into the weddings there as the setting is so good and the decor inside is fabulous. The bridal suite is special. Huge room with ensuite shower and toilet. Huge freestanding bath in the suite which is made for two and the most comfy bath I think I’ve ever been in. The furniture is very French and classical but done in a modern way and the lighting has been well thought out practically as well as being opulent. It’s so peaceful here and the suite has a private outside Juliette type balcony/terrace from which to admire the views especially from the huge bed and bath. Plenty of towels which were replenished daily with housekeeping refreshing the room during our stay. When leaving to go get married the staff came to wish us luck and promised a nice dinner awaited us when we returned. Starving and tired after a long day we returned to be greeted again by the staff offering their congratulations. We were told to come down whenever we were ready and we were given a lovely table, free bubbly and the best burger and chips I’ve ever eaten. The food here is sublime. Breakfast had been eggs Benedict, a real treat and a dish I’d ordered only a few weeks before at the legendary Ivy Restaurant. As delicious as The Ivy was, Welbeck Manor eclipsed this in every way. Truly special meals served with care and utterly delicious.
As much as we would highly recommend a stay here as prices go, it’s slightly more pricy than the average and some simple maintenance to the general outside appearance like a fresh coat of paint on facade and some minor snagging issues as well as the rear carpark area being better lit and less obscured from the hotel. Only small things all round but we thought just would justify the cost a little bit more.

Prior warning that sat nav will take you through to wrong location down very narrow country roads.

The room, the food and the staff.
No staff in premises over night. No sufficient lighting from the car park to the door. Nowhere to leave the key early in the morning.

Very friendly staff. Excellent value for money. Very comfortable and quiet room.
No mirror in the room. When I mentioned it on checkout, the staff immediately responded and detailed someone to rectify it!

Nice place, nice clean fresh room, big TV , great staff, plenty of parking, comfy bed, really nice meals, nice place to stay.
Nothing really, Only little thing I comment on, is that room 11 needs a window blind in the bathroom, the window is just facing out to the front street and the WiFi password in the room needs updating, had to ask at reception.

Darren who greeted us on arrival was extremely friendly and welcoming.
There was a bad smell(smelt like sewage) coming from the bathroom when entering our room. Seemed like the room hadn't been used or the toilet hadn't been flushed in a while. We also wasn't aloud any squash to take to our room after time was called at the bar, so had no drinks throughout the night.
4.5
Very 'can do' staff who were very friendly. Lovely room & bathroom. The food was excellent too. It's set in beautiful grounds & quite close to Plymouth.
Our room was cold when we went to bed. It was probably on a timer & we were a little late after an evening in the bar!

lovely quiet position, ideal for us to visit Dartmoor Zoo
