Sehr gemütliches liebevoll erhaltenes historisches Cottage am Rande eines urigen kleinen Dorfes mitten in den Cotswolds
Parken ist nur etwas entfernt möglich…
4.5
Absolutely loved the quiet location. Stunning little village/surrounds & everything we wanted for our English countryside experience.
The cottage had all the English charm & character we'd hoped for. It was self contained with everything we needed for our 3 night stay.
For us, there wasn't much we didn't like.
- You can't park the car at the property as there's no room (it has to be parked downhill at the end of the lane), but we've found its quite common to have minimal parking space in England!
- You have to allow time to restore the inside of the cottage back to how it was left, including stripping bed sheets & bagging them etc (we've never had to do this at an accommodation before).
- We're from Australia & used to an Australian size King size bed. The master bedroom had what seemed like a double bed & my 6'3 husbands feet hung over the end & it was also cramped for us both in there. He ended up sleeping in the spare bedroom on the single bed to give us both a better night sleep. Again, I'm aware smaller bed sizes are common in England, but I thought the room size was big enough to have a larger bed.

Egal, ob man wandern möchte, oder historische Stätten abklappern will. Hier kommt jeder auf seine Kosten. Das Auto muss man ein paar Meter weiter abstellen, aber das war im Vorfeld so gut beschrieben, dass es kein Problem darstellte. Der Weg zur Unterkunft hat nur eine minimale Steigung. Das hat uns absolut nichts ausgemacht. Im Gegenteil: wir haben uns über die netten Grüße der Nachbarn gefreut. Rundum herrlich. Gerne wieder (und länger)!
Dass wir irgendwann wieder abreisen mussten… ;)

Beautiful home, comfy bed, log burner, very clean and tastefully decorated. The location was quiet and perfect for a weekend getaway! Walking distance to a good pub too! Lots of walks straight from the door of the cottage. Absolutely beautiful setting.
Real reliance on the fire when it gets down to cooler temperatures- which is fine as long as you remember to plan a lovely roaring log fire ahead of time!

The location is "chocolate box" beautiful. The cottage is just stunning and perfect for a couple with a small child. It has all the amenities one could ask for. The exceptionally kept garden at the back is a gem and we cherished it on a daily basis. The neighbours were very friendly and helpful. We could have moved in permanently in a flash. It felt very cozy and homey. The attention to details is superb. We can't wait to go back soon. It has been a truly magical experience for us.
The absence of a designed parking spot prompts a great consideration before booking especially for people affected with mobility problems.

Typical English cottage with a lovely garden, beautiful interior, good kitchen, nice view and interesting surroundings.
The shower could have been better. And sitting at the table was not really comfortable due to the wooden benches. Parking the car down the road was fine, but for one of us not easy to climb the hill.

nice cottage
Smelly and full of weird stuff that really shouldn’t be there

The location was wonderful if a little tricky to find! Village has absolutely no road names. Not the fault of the owner of the property and the locals were very helpful with directions
A bit of a heads up about parking would have been useful. Again, if it hadn't been for the help of a neighbour I don't know where I should have guessed the parking to be.

The location was great with walks on the doorstep
The shower wasn’t brilliant but that gave me a good excuse to have a lazy bath.

Lovely cottage in a really beautiful little valley. The cottage is so cute and rustic looking. Exceptionally clean, with a nice kitchen area and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay . Very clear welcome pack and a lovely little biscuit treat that brought a smile to our faces when we arrived.
We expected the cottage to have a bit more comfort. Apart from the bed, there was no where particularly comfortable or cozy to sit on and enjoy a cup of tea. Personally, we also didn't care much for having some art of a dying horse next to the bed. And having a huge portrait of a man on top of the bed didn't really appeal to us either. You cannot sit up on the bed without having your head touch the frame of it and due to the lack of a comfortable sofa, having the frame right there made sitting on the bed uncomfortable.
Please note that parking is a short walk away and we imagine that it might be a bit trickier for larger cars.

Lovely place all to ourselves, separate bedroom for our daughter off the bathroom.
Very creaky! But that can’t be helped with a property of this age.

Fantastic base in a charming village in the Cotswolds. Quiet and rural and very friendly locals.
Nothing it all was perfect!
