I liked the location and the ease of checking in. It has all the amenities you need. Big comfy bed. We were close to many places in Canmore, the parking was easy and the hotel desk person was very nice. No stress stay, and they have a sauna, we did not use as we came from a SPA but it's a good perk to have.
Did not like the breakfast. Did not see it was just a packed snack box. Would have likely chosen a different place if I had known there was no real breakfast. Chose this place over another one for that.
It was pretty cold during the night, the duvets were very slim. During the evening we did not find how to turn up the heating a bit more. Maybe we missed something.

Clean, tidy. Nice up to date rooms. Looks like a recent reno. Good price. Nice kitchen and lounge facility. Nice cosy fire in reception area
Limited parking. Near train tracks and street construction taking place near by. Laughed when we saw complimentary earplugs! Noise didn’t really bother us tbh, tired after hiking/skiing/bling days

Service
Every thing good

The location is great (20 minute drive to Banff, lots of restaurants and stores nearby) and it’s maintained very well. The rooms were pretty clean. There was a bit of noise from the trains but not enough to bother us. The dry sauna was good as well.
The breakfast basket they provide is very useful for hikes and keeps you on the go, until you find a breakfast place to eat.
Could pay a bit more attention on cleanliness. There was some hair in the shower that was present before we got the room.
There was a kitchen available with kettle and microwave, but not bowls/plates/utensils.

Room size was perfect for a family of four members.
Breakfast part, I booked the property because of location and breakfast. We got packed food such as cake, cheese bars, bottle of juice and apple, which we didn’t expect.
5.0
The room exceeded our expectations for our one night stay.

Close to everything, comfortable beds, very friendly and helpful front desk, really nice sauna, Loved that they used a local brand from downtown for hand soap, shampoo ,conditioner ,body wash for you to try in the bathroom it made us go into town to look for the business, the bagel shop next door was cute and tasty close walk. If in Canada again we would stay here
The parking is very tight around the building, so if you have an suv or truck its hard to park and you'll worry about hitting other cars or the building.
4.0
Clean, location, parking included, breakfast, fridge, nice , personal care item extras(makeup remover, nice branded soaps, conditioner, lotion), good shower, comfy bed/pillows, furniture, easy checkin.
Reused same room numbers at adjacent Basecamp resort which was confusing at checkin. Only one towel per guest per stay.
4.0
The view, balcony, coziness, atmosphere, door codes, location, staff was friendly, was relaxing.
The parking is small and tight especially if you have a bigger vehicle which would be my main dislike. No pool/hot tub for the kids but overall everything else that was good still had us enjoy our stay.

the hotel was clean and convenient. we could use the bikes to some errands in town.
the noise of train!! it was super loud! the staff was professional but not super nice
3.5
The room was a good size and clean. Has a modern style. Very positive about 1 staff member that helped us with an issue in the room.
We could have gotten more tips from the staff what to do or which restaurants to go to. The noise from the train and airconditioning in the room was quite noisy. The breakfast missed some normal “healthy” food
4.0
Seamless virtual check in. Emailed suite number and door code.
Back side of hotel is right along the very active train tracks.

The location was perfect. Within walking distance of the town, and a few walking trails. Several food options, all within walking distance. The rooms are cozy, well lit, and met our expectations.
Staff is friendly, but didn't have good communication. We mentioned checking out really early for a flight, and asked for Togo breakfast. The message was never passed along. More information up front for whether you are staying in the lodge versus the resort. They are right next to each other, but different rooms.

The norm these days is for hotels to have good wifi, and if not good at least functional. This is not the case at Basecamp Lodge in Canmore. The wifi is terrible, and for the cost of the hotel this is quite unacceptable. Far cheaper hotels have significantly better wifi. I had to use my personal hotspot to simply respond to emails for the entire 5 days we stayed at this location. Additionally, be very mindful of parking - regardless of the size of your car, the parking lot is horrifying to navigate, and if 1 car parks slightly askew, there's a big chance that your car will not fit if you return to the hotel later in the day. Lastly, the automatic checkout that you were emailed never worked - the link never allowed you to checkout via that method.

Quietness
The parking. Really tight to get around back
2.5
Location was great. Convenient and near everything we needed to go to.
The wifi was extremely slow, the walls were thin and we could hear other people through the walls, especially the public bathroom next to our door. Main complaint would be the wifi though. We were here last year and had no complaints, this time however wasn't the same

Basecamp
Stayed 11-FEB-23
Booked through booking.com. The room was nice and clean. The mountain view was quite gorgeous and we loved the smell of burning wood from the fireplace downstairs. I also loved that they use and advertise products from the local Rocky Mountain Soap shop. The provided breakfast in a to-go bag was lovely too.
Things we didn't like- it's located beside active train tracks, so sounds of the train can be heard all during the night (and it's really loud!). Luckily, Basecamp does provide ear plugs in your room for those who can comfortably wear them throughout the night. I also didn't like that I was charged 150 for possible damages and it would get refunded within 14 business days. This was stated on Booking.com, but it was a miss on my part. Either way, I'll have to be periodically checking to make sure I get reimbursed the 150 which is a bit inconvenient in our busy lifestyle.

spacious room
trains are occasionally bypassing at night.
not really loud but also not very quite.

The room and washroom were very clean! I liked the way the room was decorated - more modern. The Rocky Mountain Soap Co. shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion were a great treat. The staff were very kind and accommodating.
The no-contact, check-in process was a minor issue -- I did not receive our suite number or door code on the day of arrival so I had to contact the front desk and they then issued me the Suite # and door code. The temperature regulation in the room was very poor -- it was incredibly hot in the room despite putting the cooling system on. It was noisy and unpleasant to sleep with. The "mountain view" description was a bit of a stretch as it was more mountains peaking above the fenced parking lot. "Breakfast included" consisted of a paper bag with a granola bar, juice, yogurt and muffin. It was nice but I wouldn't describe it as it being breakfast - more of a snack to go.

the staff is very friendly, very nice
my bed has some hair before I sleep on

How friendly the staff was and how clean the facilities were
We brought a truck for the weekend and came up in the evening after work, the man working came out and made up a temporary parking spot for us to use for the night as we couldn't fit anywhere else
The shower in our room was a little on the colder side in regards to temperature even at the hottest setting, since we just stayed for 2 nights it wasn't a huge concern for us
4.5
great bed and chairs in room
The room was dusty and cleaned only where the eye could see such as in front of the television and not behind. Not good for people with dust allergies.
4.5
property was in a great location and had everything we needed.
3.5
the place is well kept clean rooms and the cute breakfast package was nice and the rooms have amazing views of the mountains although this is mostly everywhere in Canmore.
the ridiculous check in and check out times it maybe common everywhere in Canmore but come on I wish we could revolt against hotels/lodges etc against there check in and check out times not cool
5.0
I and my partner liked the staff who work at Basecamp - they were very friendly and helpful with any request or question. It was our second stay here and we would come back again. Breakfast was good, served in baskets, and you pick it up in the morning. The best is attending a sauna after a long day in the mountains. We definitely recommend Basecamp.
The only thing I can think of is using glass mags instead of plastic/paper cups (if you are in the suite room, you have all glassware, but in the king room you get only 2 glass cups).
