Beautiful location to relax with friends. And the view was amazing!

We (family party of 10) had an amazing time at Dave and Cindy's House! The house and property were beautifully maintained and well kept. The Kitchen was fully stocked with any appliance or cutting board you could imagine. During the heat wave of our weeks stay, the saltwater pool was our best friend. We also enjoyed walks on the extensive grounds, fishing off of the dock, kayaking, and hiking in the area. Local stores are close as well as downtown Cambridge with amazing restaurants that we visited. Dave and Cindy are gracious and accommodating hosts!

We stayed for 3 days. It is a lovely property, well situated on the Chesapeake Bay. It had everything we needed. The pool was wonderful for the kids. We had a lovely weekend and our son participated in the Iron Man contest nearby. Thank you for sharing your property.

We have enjoyed our stay at the property, everything was very nice and spacious away from everything, just the way we wanted.
Our only issue was the landscaping work being done for 2 days of our stay, my son has allergies on cut grass and he ended up staying indoor for the most of those days.

The home and property were as shown on the VRBO site. Everything was in good working order and we had no challenges during our week. The host was readily available and checked in occasionally to make sure all was well. Great area and much less congested with tourists than some other Maryland sites.

the location on the bay was peaceful and the 25 acres was great for roaming and for our border collie to play. The salt water pool was a huge plus especially this summer. Dave and Cyndie were kind and very helpful. Everyone enjoyed the stay. Inside temperature perfect, and that was no small thing this year

Incredible Vacation on the Chapank River!
Beautiful property overlooking the Chapank
River with boat access to Downtown Cambridge and Oxford for restaurants, ice cream and cruising. Dave and Cindy were perfect hosts, and were there for anything you need. The pool was great for the kids and relaxation, while looking out over the river.

I went with 6 of my family members for the Ironman and we had a great time. Great communication with the property owners and we loved getting to pet Lucky (the cat) who wandered around. The house (mostly the stairwell and upstairs where the bedrooms were) does smell of cigarette smoke, so if you're extra sensitive to smells you would probably want somewhere else, but it wasn't super strong and we adjusted. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms spacious. The views of the river for the sunrise was amazing too!

We rented both the home and the cottage for our family weekend in the Chesapeake Bay area.
Cindy and Dave were wonderful to work with in answering questions before and during our stay.
The grandkids and Pappy fished from the dock every day.
They swam in the pool and enjoyed the game room above the garage daily as well.
This place has everything you need for a beautiful vacation and plenty of space for your families to "Make Memories" as ours did last weekend!
We highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful time enjoying all that the property had to offer. Everyone enjoyed being in the pool, exploring along the river’s edge, fishing off the dock, and kayaking in the river. The kids loved searching for and observing the wildlife around the property. We also had some wonderful meals that we prepared in the well stocked kitchen. The owners were very accommodating to our needs and were helpful with suggestions for places to go or see. They were even able to arrange a fishing charter for us. We had a great experience and would definitely stay at this property again.

We arrived and met Dave and Cindy who were getting ready for our arrival. Both were extremely welcoming. Cindy was very warm and gave us some figs and homemade fig butter from the fig trees on the property. Dave introduced himself as the "Director of Fun" and he did not disappoint!
We were immediately impressed with the beauty and versatility of the home and the gorgeous and meticulously maintained property. It is obvious that Dave and Cindy take much pride in their home and enjoy sharing it with their guests.
The house is large and well stocked. The downstairs has a large kitchen and lounge area with TV, a large dining room, a very large enclosed riverside living room that is so large it actually has two separate seating areas. There is a 4th whole other separate sitting room that has the pull out couch if needed. This expanse of space allowed all 11 of us to spread out and do what we enjoyed without being in each others way, including setting up two separate remote work areas.
The formal bedrooms are upstairs and are very good sized. The two riverside bedrooms have doors that open out to a beautiful 2nd floor balcony that overlooks the River. A wonderful place to watch the sunrise and drink your coffee in the morning, or sit and have a chat with your loved ones.
The whole riverside of the house has lots of wonderful natural light and river views. We spent a lot of our time on the stone patio off the kitchen, which is also riverside, to eat, talk, do projects with the kids, or enjoy the fireplace at night.
The inground pool was perfectly maintained and never felt chemical-y or uncomfortable. There was lots of places in the pool area for us to sit when we weren't enjoying the pool. Dave would come out and give the kids popsicles. He became lovingly known as "Popsicle Dave"
The little beach was perfect for the kids to play, go looking for rocks, shells, crabs, as well as was a good place to launch the house kayaks. Kayaking in the morning was a special type of peacefulness I've rarely experienced before.
We enjoyed trying to catch fish from the dock. We did catch 2! We also loved the bird watching and exploring under the eagles nest onsite.
Anything we wanted to do Dave and Cindy were so helpful with recommendations, all which blew us away-music, boating, restaurants, sights. Any questions we had, they responded promptly. Cindy and Dave were onsite, but never intrusive. We enjoyed them so much, we invited them over!
We will be back!

We made wonderful memories with our large family in Cambridge! The property was beautiful with lots of space and million dollar views. The owners were present during our stay in their own house adjacent to the rental. There was some confusion regarding the pool house in which we were told in advance that we could choose to rent it during our stay if we wanted to. When we were there we asked to rent it and we’re told we were told that the house was not available. Overall, we would return to this house in Cambridge and the comfort and peace it offered.

The hosts were fabulous and even surprised my husband with a bottle of champagne for his birthday! They gave popsicles to the kids while we played in the pool and were available to answer any questions we had. We truly enjoyed our time here!

Lots of space indoor and outdoor; kids really enjoyed the pool, the small private beach and sitting by the outdoor fireplace in the evening. Good fishing from the pier. There are lots of things to see in and near Cambridge, but we were too busy enjoying the property. Maybe next time we will check out the sites in the area.

The property is situated on the Choptank River near Cambridge. It had a dock as advertised and a mini-beach. The house was decent-sized and was comfortable for 4 of us. Up to 8 people would probably be fine. The kitchen had lots of equipment, beat up but usable. The main selling point was the view. It's pretty good. And there were eagles and an osprey in the back yard, which was nice. The sunrise was great. Our dog was happy chasing squirrels, so there's that.We had 4 problems: 1. Safety. In this era of covid it was important to us that we adhere to public health guidelines. We are two couples, long-term friends in our 60s and we all got tested before the trip so we could act normal together. It bothered us when the owners showed up without masks and when they would just stop by at other times. They were friendly and thought they were not contagious because they'd had COVID several months earlier, but we were uncomfortable.2. Privacy. They were on the property. We wanted privacy and chose this because of the land surrounding it. Instead of being off property, the owners shifted from the main building to an adjacent pool house, making it uncomfortable for us to use the pool or game room that was supposed to be above the pool house, or sleep with blinds open. They scheduled noisy and disruptive tree-cutting and lawn mowing while we were there. Some of us were cyberworking but it was often noisy. 3. Things that were advertised or implied were bogus. They had a "fitness center/exercise machine" listed, which was an old-stair stepper in their garage. It wasn't usable. There were attractive balconies listed and shown in the pictures. But the flooring and railings were suspect and the doors to the balcony were cable-tied shut as was a downstairs door going out to the lawn. They agreed to let us cut the ties to get a breeze, but we shouldn't have to have had to do that. And we were looking forward to the balconies overlooking the water.4. Lastly, it's twelve hundred freaking dollars a night. For that, we expected real privacy, no loud intrusive maintenance work, and better facilities. This would have been a good deal for 700, 800 bucks. Not for this. It worked for us because we had specific needs, but buyer beware. In our opinion, that price point implies luxury and an attention to details for the guests' experience and comfort. And privacy. We thought we were renting a property, but we really weren't.

Perfect place for all ages. We are an extended family with seven children under the age of 9. Keeping them occupied and safe while allowing us adults to kick back and enjoy the summer too was the best part. Beautiful pool area, totally fenced in and safe. Lots of space in the house and a fully stocked kitchen. We were able to make braised pork, pasta and a seafood dinner without any of our own tools/supplies. The owners Dave and Cindy were fantastic- always available if needed, and gave us the privacy and trust that renters want. The dock was so peaceful in the morning. The boys caught crabs, the kids played outside on the lawn, at the beach, in the pool or simply watched a little tv. Our biggest complaint was probably the flies. Those suckers followed you in fast - so keeping door the sliding door shut was a high priority. Would definitely make this an annual thing for us.

We were very disappointed our first morning when, after some heavy overnight rain, we found substantial leaking all over the downstairs area. The furniture in the living room was soaked, there were puddles by the windows, and more leaking near the kitchen. The hosts were aware of this issue but did not give us a heads up. They told us it doesn’t always leak when it rains. They were somewhat apologetic but basically told us to put out some buckets out to catch the water. The weather cleared up and we had a nice stay for the rest of our visit. The views of the river are beautiful, and the grounds and the pool are great. There were a few things that could have been nicer – the mattress on the pullout couch downstairs was paper thin and full of springs, the linens on the beds were worn out. We asked one of the hosts if we could move the roaming filter out of the pool so the kids didn’t get caught up in the cord. She said it was fine. The other host than scolded us for moving it. When leaving I requested a refund of one night of our seven to make up for the leaky roof and the fact that the upstairs balcony was closed for repairs. I got a message back denying this request and complaining that we were high maintenance guests and asked for too much during our stay. We certainly had a few requests - these are things that hosts at other properties are usually happy to help with.

A Hidden Gem Equals a Perfect Vacation
This property is a true hidden gem. The location is perfect for a family vacation and combines the best the Eastern shore has to offer. Our family stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it. Cindy and Dave were wonderful hosts. The house is beautifully laid out and decorated. The kitchen is large and a perfect gathering place. We loved watching the sunrise in the sunroom or gathering as a family and enjoy the view of the water. Our preschooler loved the beach and finding shells , crabs and even horseshoe crabs. The pool was perfect to cool off in and we used the kayaks to see birds and other marine life in the water. The grounds around the house are enormous and beautifully maintained. Our preschooler loved watching the fireflies, bats and frogs that came out at night. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed to make our meals, but the house is only 10 minutes away from Cambridge so you can easily go to one of the wonderful restaurants in town.
This is a wonderful place to stay and we were so lucky to find it. We are already looking forward to our return.

What a wonderful place
We had a very special trip. The hosts are terrific, very responsive and helpful. Easy to work with. Their location is great. The home is beautiful and well cared for. We had a terrific vacation. Thank you Dave and Cindy. We highly recommend this spot. And we look forward to returning.

Great week on the Choptank
We wanted a place somewhat off the beaten path, with enough space for outside activities and our dog, and comfortable enough to not feel the need to go out. Dave and Cindy's place is perfect! The house is big with plenty of beds, and the kitchen was exactly what we wanted - we cooked in every night, except for the night we ordered crabs. We spent most of the days around the pool. The outside deck was perfect for family dinners and hanging out. We sat and watched bald eagles and ospreys from the picnic table! Sunrises from the boat dock were spectacular.
The house is also close enough to town and shopping that we could always get whatever supplies we wanted, and we spent a fun afternoon in town at RAR Brewery. Bottom line - this place is absolutely perfect for relaxation and refilling the tank. Highly recommended!

Wonderful, relaxing stay
My husband and I, plus our daughters (age 8 and 11) enjoyed this home on our week long vacation. It was a perfect set up on the water. We loved swimming in the pool, fishing off the pier, and bbqing outside. The house was clean and had everything we needed to cook wonderful meals and make wonderful memories. The owners were lovely and helpful throughout our stay. We would highly recommend this property, You will love it!!

Wonderful Property Maintained by Lovely Hosts
The large, well-appointed house has spectacular views of the Choptank. The house comes with everything vacationers could need: the bedrooms are quite comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked -- including a large selection of spices, and there are tons of towels, which you'll need for all of the water activities. Our kids loved playing in the swimming pool and we all enjoyed using the available kayaks. Anyone bringing their own boating equipment will find a small beach from where SUPs, kayaks and sailboats are easily launched. We also rented the cottage, which has a large bedroom and living room as well as a small kitchen and 1 1/2 baths. For those who still need to work, the WIFI works well and easily.
Property owners Cindy and Dave live a stone's throw away and are warm, helpful, and responsive. When we had occasional maintenance issues, Dave was right on it. Cindy offered helpful advice where to find local grocery and seafood stores and where we could rent a power boat.
This is the perfect place to unwind by sitting on the back patio, grilling dinner, walking across the wide, green lawn and down the dock, all the while taking in the magnificent view.
Our entire group loved our stay here and looks forward to coming back.

A great vacation getawat
Our extended family, one grandfather, two sets of parents and 7 total kids, had a great week at this house. The house is spacious and very well equipped. We also rented the cottage that is right next door so we didn't have to squeeze in too tightly. We enjoyed the pool for swimming, the open fields for playing games, and the beach for playing in the sand. Dave and Cindy were great hosts. If you are headed to this region of the country, I would certainly recommend their house.
