About this apartment rental
The property has full kitchen with all amenities, lounge and dining area with balcony and sea view, 2 full size bedrooms (main with balcony and sea view), 2 full bathrooms (one is en-suite), entrance hall area, and utility room with washer etc.
The main entrance is at ground level (There are 2 or 3 steps up to the front door). Fibre 5G wifi connection (download speed 77 Mbps). The condo complex has 21 other units, 2 pools (one infinity type with ocean view), beautiful gardens and secure entrance with 24 hour security. Car hire is available locally but is not really necessary, cheap taxis abound and the town center and 2 beaches are a short walk away, Manzanillo beach is the closest at approx 7 minutes walk. The town beach and Zicatela beach can also be accessed by a cliff walkway but it has lots of steps & big waves! I have a local agent (English/Spanish/French speaking) who lives on site to help out with any issues, and she can arrange collection from the airport if needed. Designated covered car parking is available on site if needed at no extra cost.
It should be mentioned that the condo does not have A/C. Generally there is a nice sea breeze and one can sleep with the balcony doors open. All rooms also have fans. We generally only visit in summer (when it's hottest) and have no problem, but if you are an A/C junkie then this may not be the property for you.
We are very flexible on check-in and out times UNLESS another guest is arriving or departing on the same day.
Close by in town is a local market to buy fresh fish, veg, fruit, tortillas, spices and all other known Mexican foodstuffs in addition to handcrafts. For the authentic experience you can also buy fresh fish straight off the boats at the beach, or arrange a trip to catch your own. Puerto is renowned for world class fishing (Dorado, Tuna, Swordfish, Sailfish, etc), along with the world class surfing at Zicatela beach.
For safe swimming there are secluded coves for swimming, snorkeling or just relaxing under a palapa with a drink. At night one can eat out along Zicatela or Rinconada, catch the sunsets there, or have your own private sundowners on the balcony before sleeping to the sound of the sea.
Recently (2023) a skydiving facility has also opened in Puerto Escondido.
Please note that the minimum rental period is set here at 6 nights, but between October 1 and March 31 the minimum rental (condo regulations) is 13 nights. Please also note summer rates are always less than winter rates. Please feel free to enquire for rates during summer time as they may be less than quoted here, depending on demand. We are always open to negotiation in quiet periods.
Note that at time of writing (Feb 2024) the construction work next door in the adjacent site that has been mentioned in some older reviews is now completed.
Please also note that the condominium regulations PROHIBIT rentals to families with kids under 14 so you can view that as a bonus or a disadvantage! Great activities for kids over 14 though. Regulations also prohibit rentals to groups of more than 4 persons per unit. While mentioning rules the complex is no smoking except for designated areas on the rooftop palapa area and the lower palapa by the sea.

This was a beautiful seaside condo that was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the seaside views or go to enjoy Peurto Escondido. From coffee on the deck to watch the sunrise or cooking in the fully equipped kitchen everything was perfect. We also enjoyed watching the sunset from the roof top Palapa with the other friendly people in the condo. Lisette was an excellent property manager and made sure that our stay was excellent. If we needed anything she responded quickly to our communications and ensured that our stay was excellent. We would definitely recommend this property.

Loved the condo, location for us was perfect, very central to all.
Have stayed at Eglantina before, perfect location, close to every need. Walking distance to beaches, restaurants, shopping, etc. would definitely return and highly recommend.

Fantastic view!
This condo is located straight on the sea, so there's an unobstructed view of the sea and of Puerto Escondido. It's walking distance to food stores and convenience stores. Two pools are available, so it's a lovely place for a vacation. There was a bit of noise because of a construction project nearby, but I believe it's temporary. Another issue is small hungry mosquitoes. So bring some repellent with you.

Great place. I’d return. Very friendly people. Just has a lot of construction noise right now. But that won’t last forever.

Beautiful view interrupted by CONSTRUCTION
Eglantina is beautiful with a stunning view and well kept grounds, BUT
during our one month stay we had construction directly next door from 0700-1630 Monday- Friday and Saturday till 1200hrs. They are building a two phase condo complex directly to the left of Eglantina. They were so close to us we could greet the workers from our balcony. We were never able to sit on our balcony during the day. The construction was consistent jackhammers and other very loud equipment. Not being able to use the balcony until the evening was very disappointing. This construction was going on last year and will continue for the next year or more. Owners of another unit informed us that last winter the construction was even louder and tenants left early. We emailed Jeremy to inform him of this construction and the effect it had on our stay at his condo. He had informed me that he was not aware of this construction, we find this hard to believe. We requested fair compensation for the disruption. Jeremy offered us a less than 4% discount on our one month stay. This was $85. This was not exceptable. We would like others to be aware that the construction will effect your holiday if you choose to stay. It will be ongoing for at least another year.

Charming Getaway with Spectacular View
My husband and I were very comfortable in this cozy and spacious 2 bedroom unit. It was fully equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our stay in this beautiful place. Good food, beaches and nightlife were a convenient cab ride away!

Great place just as advertised in a great area!
This condo is great, fully equipped with everything you need. Very clean and comfortable. The complex is beautiful and well kept. Both pools are great with a fantastic view from the front one.......as well as from the balcony. It is a great place for morning coffee watching the sunrise, which is spectacular. Lisette who manages this property is amazing and was very patient with all our questions.
Everything you need is within walking distance. You can call a taxi right from the complex........they all know where Eglantina is. The whale and dolphin tour with Israel is a must. In the Rinconada area (walking distance of about 10-15 minutes) there are many great restaurants that are very inexpensive. Some of our favourites were Cafecita, Paris, Luna Rosa, and La Salsa.
Would definitely recommend this property to anyone and we are going back next year.........can’t wait!

Great location, Exceptional View
The other reviews are accurate. The view from the condo and the pool is extraordinary. The property is very well maintained. The location is perfect. Short walk or cab ride (25-30 pesos) to anywhere. First time visiting Puerto Escondido and will definitely be back. Great beaches and lots of fresh seafood! Lisette was very helpful and always available in person or by email.

superb views, great location, lovely pools and garden
Place was great, exactly as advertised with great views from main bedroom and lounge, can even lie in bed and watch the view. At night there are fishermen to watch too. Condo gardens are very nicely kept and the infinity pool at front is wonderful. Location great for Manzanillo beach and anywhere else you want to go. Taxis can be called from right at the front door. Having Lisette (the owners agent) on hand there was a definite plus as she got us sorted out for anything we needed and I would definitely return, right now if I had the chance!
