About this house rental
Take yourself back in time when life was much simpler. Come and stay at a real working farm. The Tree House is located on a 13.5 acre private estate in the Beautiful Valdez Valley just 6 miles north of Taos.
The Tree House is a fairy-tale cottage, hand built by the owner, who is a Taos artist and metal sculptor and furnished with handmade furniture and antiques. There is peace and quite except for the rustling of the giant 200 year old cottonwoods and the rushing of the Rio Hondo River as it makes its' way to the Rio Grande. The Tree House has a balcony that over looks a 100 ft. pond with Mallard Ducks.
A short walking distance on the other side of the property is the working part of the farm, consisting of Alpacas, Ducks, Chickens and of course the gentle Great Pyrenees dogs that watch over all. You are welcome to feed the Alpacas, learn about their history and in early summer you might even see a cria (baby Alpaca) or you can walk to he top of the hill and watch the chickens.
There is lots of wildlife in the Valley and you might occasionally see a Bear, coyote, Deer, Fox or even an Elk on the property.
We are located half way between Taos and Taos Ski Valley. About a 10 min drive in either direction.
Come stay with us and enjoy tranquility in the Land of Enchantment.

This charming treehouse is on the most gorgeous property! It had everything we needed. The handmade furniture and gates and art around the place was beautiful. We loved sitting on the deck looking out to the pond and green grounds. Will definitely go back!

First time to land of enchanted New Mexico and this beautiful tree house and land was just the bit of magic and quiet that we needed to make the experience that much more enriching. A perfect place to relax after hiking near by Wheeler Peak and to enjoy the quiet away from all the bustle of Taos but close enough to quickly grab a bite to eat. Owners were so so so kind! Will be.back hopefully in future wish I could’ve stayed longer. Reconnected to nature friends and self in this beautiful place!

We found this little hideaway in Valdez, just minutes from Taos and Arroyo Seco. It was a quiet and serene space for some rest and reset with my husband. We loved the house and all of the artistic creative that you can see throughout! The landscape surrounding is captivating and brings a sense of peace. June and Jim were incredible hosts, providing a safe space and friendly conversation. We missed the alpaca feeding this time, but we expect to come back!

Tucked away from everyone, this cozy loft is so cool. Perfect for a couple with beautiful grounds. A very relaxing hammock, plenty of trees and a pet otter roaming the pond. Got to hang out with the alpacas and the owners were very friendly. Top notch!

The property is gorgeous and very peaceful! It was next to a river and had a little pond. There were lots of birds, butterflies and even a muskrat swimming in the pond. The owners were so kind and let us feed the alpacas. We will definitely be back again!

Jun and Jim were great hosts, and we were grateful that they were willing to share their beautiful property. The Treehouse had everything we could have hoped for, with a cozy feel and access to the whole of the farm. We would definitely come back next time we’re in Taos.

Truly great!
Quiet, relaxing, peaceful.
Possibly preferred being there in the fall a bit more than winter, due to the tree colors, but this was still great!

We had the very best time at the treehouse. It was exactly what we hoped it would be and the snow was icing on the cake for our anniversary getaway. The location was perfect for a mini ski trip and a quick run to town. Mr. Jim was so kind and swept off the stairs to ensure we would be safe walking in the snow. They made sure to make our stay as wonderful as possible. We hope to be back!

Jim and Jun's little tree house is the perfect homebase for a Red River/Taos Valley ski trip. The tree house had everything we needed for our stay, including dishes, pans, a mini fridge, towels, linens, hot water, and dish TV. The property was quiet, private, full of nature, and conveniently located for trips into Taos, Red River, and Arroyo Seco. I would gladly stay here again.

We couldn’t be happier with our stay! Picturesque, private, immersed in nature, and storybook dwelling are just a few words to describe the property. The tree house boasted artistic metal work, and quality furniture (from the eyes of my spouse who is a hobbyist upholsterer). You can tell that a lot of love and creativity went in to developing a property their guests would want to gravitate back to. My only regret is that VRBO doesn’t allow us to post some beautiful pictures we had taken there.

My husband and I wanted a quick getaway after a busy holiday season. We arrived in the middle of a snow storm but the property owners keep the area as safe as possible. The house itself is gorgeous, we loved all the vintage touches. The property is a dream, we will definitely be back.

We had the most amazing weekend staying in the Treehouse property on the alpaca farm. We stayed over New Year’s 2024 weekend and had a wonderful time! The Treehouse was very comfortable for two people. Although there is no oven, we still were able to make some fantastic meals during our stay with the fully stocked kitchen. The property has a great location - right between Taos Ski Valley and Downtown Taos. We loved every minute that we spent here during our trip. We would love to come back again during the summer months for a relaxing trip. Feeding the alpacas at the end of our weekend was the best! I

The treehouse was fantastic. It was adorable, clean, and fully stocked eliminating the need to bring essentials. The setting was storybook worthy and was close to the slopes for skiing. Such a fun stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Jim and Jun's tree house. It is a quaint and unique house surrounded by large Cottonwood Trees in an idyllic valley setting next to a river. It is in a good location close to Arroyo Seco, about 5 miles from Taos and also convenient to the Rio Grande Gorge bridge. Jun met us immediately upon arrival and explained what we needed to know about the tree house. It turned out to be a nice birding spot and a perfect place for a walk. Jim was kind enough to let us feed and pet their Alpacas one afternoon as it is also an Alpaca farm. They were so nice and accommodating during our stay. We would certainly return to this location if we are back in the Taos area in the future without hesitation!

Our only regret about this property is that we didn’t stay longer. This place is something right out of a fairytale.
We absolutely adored Jim and Jun and made good friends with Bollogard and the alpacas, not to mention the lovely wildlife all around us. One early morning walk led me to the pond where I was joined by some ducks and a cute muskrat.
Very convenient to Taos. Close enough for all amenities and the Rio Hondo river, but magically tucked away as a private sanctuary. Really the best of all worlds.
The tiny kitchenette perfectly fit our needs and the cozy bed was awesome after a long day of sightseeing. The little gas stove was just right to make sure we woke up toasty warm in the cooler mornings. We didn’t use the laundry facilities but appreciated the options should we need it.
Honestly, should Jim and Jun ever want to retire, we would be extremely interested in overseeing or owning this lovely getaway.

Beautiful stay. It was not only beautiful and comfortable, but so peaceful.. Spent our 40th anniversary here to celebrate - cooked out steaks on the gas grill, pondered over the private pond and its beauty - spell bound by the babbling brook - and the grand finale - star gazed at night and saw 4 shooting stars - the sky is brilliant and bold here. There is no other place like this - amazing. Jim and Jun are the host that everyone dreams of.
