We spent two weeks at this cabin with family, enjoying the surrounding mountains, spending afternoons on the deck, and going on hikes in the area. This was the perfect home base for us and had everything we needed and more. The host was so communicative and answered any questions we had quickly. We would happily stay here again!

Loved our time at this mountain retreat. Our group consisted of three couples and no children. The host was exceptionally communicative throughout our reservation process and stay. We had a couple of questions prior to checking in and they always responded within the hour. The house was very clean and abundantly appointed with glassware, dishes and all utensils needed to prepare our meals and beverages. The kitchen area was smaller than we anticipated and was a little cramped for six adults (particularly since you have to pass through the kitchen to exit the house) but we made it work without any difficulty. The house is very close to the Sunrise entrance to the Mt. Rainier National Park. Highly recommend a visit. Don’t forget the required prearranged reservation pass. When exiting the park we saw a couple of cars who were denied entrance because they didn’t have a timed entrance reservation. Only $2 online at the nps website.
We were visited daily by elk, either walking the banks of the White River, or passing directly through the front yard.
Be sure to visit the community of Greenwater. Ice cream, beer, fun!
It was very warm during our stay and the house stayed very comfortable as long as you closed up all windows and skylights before the late morning heat arrived. There are no river views from inside the house so we spent as much time as possible on the back deck enjoying the sights and sounds of the White River.
We highly recommend this house. We will be back!

This must be what heaven is like. Serene and beautiful. Birds flying over pine tree tops, deer drinking from the river while you listen to the river flow. The smell of smoke coming from the chimney. We are in love with this space. Spacious and has all the necessities.

Our multigenerational family group thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The house was exactly as advertised and is a great location for visiting the mountain. We especially loved hanging out on the deck watching elk wander by.

This property is very nice. We had 2 babies (under 1), two small children and 6 adults. It was cozy, especially in the kitchen, but we had a wonderful time. There's lots of extras in the kitchen (seasonings, hot cocoa, baking supplies). AND there's an extra fridge/freezer in the garage. The kids loved the outdoor play structure. We really enjoyed the serenity of the White river, close enough to hear, but no danger of anyone falling in. The view from the upstairs is amazing! Loved this place!

House was comfortable and cozy. Access to river was great for the kids. Loved the outdoor fire place!

The location is wonderfully secluded. The wildlife and river are beautiful. The play set and outdoor toys are a major asset to have for the littles. There are plenty of dishes and spices and extras. The host even had a small cooler for us to use, which was really nice for day trips with young children. The children’s playroom is wonderful and well stocked. The grill was nice as well. The home is spacious and worked well for our family!
The master bath isn’t really functional as a ‘full’ bath since a small child cannot stand up in it, but we used the shower on the main floor. The home needs a good deep clean; it was pretty dusty, even the floors and surfaces of furniture. There were lots of cobwebs everywhere, hair in the bathtub drain (not ours) and the bathrooms need to be fully stocked with towels and washcloths so guests don’t have to go track them down. We pulled dirty dishes from cabinets and there was laundry in the dryer, in front of the dryer in baskets and on top of the washer and dryer. Not sure if we were between seasons or if the home hadn’t been stayed in for awhile. We enjoyed our stay but would recommend a DEEP clean before next guest.
The quiet neighborhood was glorious! The views from the decks are spectacular. We loved the large recycling bins on site too. It is close to several places to take hikes with beginner hikers or small children. A great place to relax, unwind and spend some very quiet and peaceful time away!

First time at this property. It is in a great location and beautiful view of the white river. My son found the Sand bar on the river to be a great place to Propose to his girlfriend ( she said yes ).
We had plenty of room for all 10 of us. Highly recommend.

Loved mornings on the deck and evenings around the outdoor fireplace. There were issues with mice indoors for last couple of days, probably compounded by having dog food bowls. The hosts offered traps and exterminators and were quick to respond, thank you for a great week.

We loved this cabin! It's location on the White River and near skiing and outdoor recreation is perfect. It is very cozy and the entire family (including the dog) loved it. The host, Alex, was super responsive and helpful. I highly recommend this cabin and hope to go back!

Great place to relax and reconnect with family, especially after a long day of hiking. With the sound of the river in the background we ate our meals, talked on the deck, and built new memories…

Perfect getaway!
It’s hard to imagine a more perfect location than this house! The seclusion, trees, and river make it a perfect and relaxing retreat.
The home is well equipped, clean, and cozy. The check in process was super simple, the owners were communicative, and the location (plus the proximity to Mt. Rainier National Park) can’t be beat!
This house made a wonderful vacation home for our family. We so enjoyed our time and we’ll definitely return!

Juneuary vacation did NOT disappoint!
Alex was a fantastic host! My husband and our three adult kids came out from Virginia for an epoch vacation! I didn't do my research and found out too late that June is a bit early for much hiking at Mt. Ranier. However, it was also not crowded.
We chased the sunshine around the state and got to visit San Juan Island, Olympic National Park, hiked three nice day hikes in Mt. Rainier and had a day in Seattle. The cabin was so wonderful to come back to after a damp hike - the woodstove made everything so cozy. We saw elk across the river one morning, as many reviewers had mentioned. I cannot say enough nice things about the area and the cabin itself. There was plenty of space and the kitchen was well equipped. Having the crock pot was a life-saver. The beds were very comfortable! The scenery and the alpine cabin were a huge hit! Thanks, Alex, for making our experience so incredibly special!

Fantastic home with river sounds and plentiful wildlife
I can't say enough good about this property. The home is beautifully maintained and provides plenty of room for a large group. The game cupboard is well stocked (including several puzzles with all their pieces!) and has a lot of good fun activities. Check in/out was as easy as it gets. The host answers any questions quickly and completely.

Cozy and Relaxing Retreat
This quaint property was warmly welcoming and accommodating for all of our needs; with plenty of room for three of us to spread out and make full use of all of the amenities it had to offer. We enjoyed both decks throughout many points of each day and loved that the river was so close-by. We were one of the lucky ones to see the herd of elk stroll by as mentioned in other reviews. The property is set back from other homes with the added security of other families nearby but yet still able to maintain its privacy. The temperature never dropped to the point where we felt we need to use any of the wood burning stoves; instead, the mild weather allowed us to open the windows and skylights and enjoy the breeze and sounds of the rushing river. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked for four days of morning and evening meal prep. We took the advice of the site manager to grab groceries in Enumclaw before driving the additional 20/30 minutes to the house. If you’re looking for a nice home base to relax at after a day of hiking Mt Rainer and surrounding areas, this is a great choice. We would definitely stay again on our next visit to the area.

Great location
It was a great place to stay with together with family while in Washington for our daughters wedding nearby. There was plenty of rooms, they had a great selection of toys and even an outdoor play set. The stairs and home decor was a bit challenging with 3 toddlers but we managed it. I would recommend this place to others and I would gladly stay again if ever needed.

Wonderful Stay for Two Families with Kids
This was the ideal place for two families, with 5 kids combined. There was enough room for us to spread out in the living area, bedrooms, and the outside patio. The listing underscores how MUCH kids' games and books are the in house and the kids weren't ever bored during our six day stay. The kitchen was well stocked for our family to cook a majority of our meals during our stay.
We appreciated the rural setting (20 miles southeast of Enumclaw). Greenwater (4 miles away) had a few small shops that we took advantage of and the location was a great point to visit the east side of the Park (Grove of the Patriatrch, Lake Tipsoo, Sunrise) and the Crystal Mountain Gondola. We spent a day circulating the park and this is a great jumping off point for exploring Mount Rainier!
If we visit the Mount Rainier in the future we would definitely consider staying here!

Magical - Everything in its Place
My family stayed four nights at the end of March for our six year old twins’ birthday. We skied Crystal, we hiked the woods and the river, we played on the playset and loved the bunkbeds and kid height windows. The main living space with large table and sofa felt big enough and cozy at the same time. We enjoyed Elk visitors roaming the yard and a visit from family friends who stopped for happy hour outside on the huge deck in the afternoon sun (COVID). Plenty of space to spread out. It was just the getaway we needed. This cabin has all the feels of a tiny cozy cabin in the woods, yet with everything in its place - it lives quite large. Felt as though we were staying at a friend’s house. Kitchen stocked and extra supplies there if needed. We didn’t use the basement bedrooms but the radiant floors were awesome, taking the sting out of otherwise cold concrete floors. Only negatives for us were ... dog hair and allergies, and stinky master suite bathroom. Tried running water to prime p-traps and that seemed to help some but never went away completely. Alex came to rescue when I left my eye glasses behind. Highly recommend cabin and will probably return despite the dog allergies!!

A cozy and scenic getaway
Our family loved this property! We got together to celebrate some birthdays and to get away from our busy lives, and this was the perfect spot to do it. The cabin is clean and very warm and cozy, even in the chilly October weather. The location right on the river gave the little ones (2 and 5) plenty to explore - and plenty of mud to play in. They also enjoyed the play structure and the path through the woods that can be accessed just next to the house. Though there are other neighboring houses nearby, it was a very quiet area and we felt like we had the space to ourselves for most of the weekend. I can't say enough good things about Alex's communication: he was able to give me tips on getting to the cabin that saved us two hours of drive time (Google maps said 410 was closed), and when the power went out for a few hours he monitored the situation and texted me regular updates. Overall it was a very stress free and pleasant stay!

Would highly recommend if you are looking for a cozy, comfortable stay with wonderful scenery.

Beautiful cabin
we have a large family and Alpencommune was perfect for our annual glamping trip. Right next to the river and plenty of activities nearby. The kids loved playing in the river and seeing the Elk nearby. We had an exciting bat encounter on our first night and that will be the story the kids remember the most. Beautiful home with 3 floors to entertain. Great park on the property the kids enjoyed too. Great large dining room table we enjoyed plus beautiful deck to enjoy the sunrise and sunset on.

Beautiful location
My husband and grown children and 3 grandbabies just spent Christmas in this beautiful home. It was very clean and super well stocked with everything you could possibly need at hand. You can see the owners love their getaway by the way the home was maintained. I highly recommend this home for any large group with the 5 bedrooms. The only downside was the master bath just had a tub. We managed fine by running down 1 flight to another bathroom. Will definitely be back if they will have us!
