About this house rental
Sparkling clean waterfront home tucked in amongst cedar and fir trees on a saltwater bay. Quiet neighborhood with a 180-degree water and island view. Twenty-five minutes from Mt. Vernon, five minutes from La Conner, twenty-five minutes from Anacortes ferry. The stairs to the beach are off-limits until March 2025 for repairs.
This 3-level home is perfect for up to six guests - all levels with their own queen bed and bathroom. There are two open living areas with two kitchens, plus a third bedroom/bath in the loft. Both the main level and the downstairs levels have access to the outdoors/beach. Due to the high bluff, we DO NOT accommodate children under 12.
Rates are for two people. Extra guests over the original two are an additional $30 per night including children over 12. Very strict pet policy: A standard $100 fee for pets for up to three days. If more than 3 days, we will charge an extra $30 per night. ONLY pets under 20 lbs and non-shedding. Limit one pet per booking.
You will receive directions and key information from VRBO's "Welcome Guide" 3 days before check in.
You can go for a walk right out the front door or to the beach. The beach is rocky and full of driftwood and small pebbles. It is not sandy, nor conducive to laying on the sand getting a tan! It's for walking on. Bring walking shoes.
Our neighbors are close, but with fences. We have never had any complaints about noisy neighbors. It's a quiet neighborhood. One guest complained about no blinds on the windows and the sunlight bothered them. There is a separate living/kitchen area on the lower level that does have blinds.
La Conner offers fine dining, pubs, cafe's, coffee shops, music, art galleries, tulips in April, the farm festival in the fall, and a boardwalk along the Channel.
Big Cedar is near the Whidby Island Naval Air Station. Occasionally they fly over La Conner. They do not fly on weekends. We want you to be informed as we never know when, or if, they will be flying (except NOT on weekends.) You cannot hear take-offs or landings - more of a dull roar in the distance.
Please note that our property is non-smoking. Neither is this property suitable for children under 12.
Have fun, be safe, and understand that any use of the property is at your own discretion and at your own risk.

Spent a week in this lovely home, central location to places we wanted to visit. Lovely area with a great view

My daughter and I were looking for a place to spend a few days together before she goes off to college and we had the most magical time here. Everything is gorgeous and exactly what we wanted. Very clean, quiet, and such a beautiful home. The view is mesmerizing!

Our family enjoyed our stay here immensely! The large windows provided beautiful views of the water all day long, with some amazing sunsets. The home was clean, spacious and comfortable. The stairs down to the waterfront could use a little TLC but are definitely manageable. We especially liked walking the waterfront at low-tide. The home has immediate neighbors on either side but we rarely saw them. We liked that it was in a quiet neighborhood but not too far from downtown La Conner (about 10 minutes) and easy access to roads to Anacortes & Deception Pass (20 minutes) and close access to the North Cascades scenic highway. The jets from the nearby base can be heard occasionally but we live near an airport and have learned to tune those things out and didn't bother us. We wish we could've stayed longer and explored the cute shops and restaurants in La Conner. We appreciated the powerful hot water heater that allowed us to do laundry and shower at the same time! We (gas) grilled once and it worked great, but charcoal was available. After a long day of hiking in the Cascades we wanted to relax with a DVD we brought, and I had completely missed that the house didn't have a DVD player! However the owner was quick to respond and dropped one off within minutes! Fantastic communication. We don't often say we want to come back to a rental home, but can confidently say we'd come back to this one! Thank you for sharing your home.

Lovely view. Stairs to beach. Great sunsets. There is only one TV and it is in the living room. I like to have a TV in the bedroom too. Well equipped. Comfortable bed on main floor bedroom. I didn't stay in the upstairs or downstairs.

Loved the stay. Close to town. Amazing views. Needs a few minor amenities. Towel rack near sink in master bathroom but small details. Would stay here again or recommend.

I cannot say enough about what a spectacular stay we had. The house is gorgeous and the setting is spectacular on a cliff overlooking the water. The communication with the host was exemplary as well. We had a great time!

House is great— looked the same as in listing! It was perfect that there’s such a lovely view— we were still able to watch the tides & animals despite rain! Perfectly cozy and great stay

Home was a little remote but very nice. Well equipped downstairs suite, nice kitchen and great view of the waterway from the living room and loft.

The house is well maintained and very comfortable. Spotless clean! The view is magnificent! Stairway to beach, which is all rock and driftwood and found many pieces of seaglass. Great location for visiting the tulip fields.
Very safe area.

What a lovely VRBO. The house had everything we needed, and the location was handy to LaConner and thd tulip fields. The sunset was amazing and watching sea lion play in the water was extra special.
The stairs to the beach were easily accessible, and they’ve seen a few storms, but do the trick. The beach is lovely. Others mentioned the flyboys from Whidby Air Station, but the overhead flights added to the ambiance of the stay. I love soaking in all characteristics of the location.
I will definitely stay here again!

The house has an absolutely astounding view. So nice that it's tempting to stay inside and just watch the world. The property is pristine and well decorated, and the hosts are kind and easy to talk to. This is my second visit here. I liked it so much on my first visit that I had to bring some visiting friends from out of town here. They had a blast bird watching and absolutely loved the spectacular view.

What a beautiful spot! sunsets spectacular and great beach strolls below. The house is huge with 3 floors and separate space in walk out. I can't think of any place better for enjoying the coast and heading out to hikes

Simply wonderful - the views & property - inside & out - were fabulous. The Property Manager was supremely responsive to my few questions, and the town of La Conner was charming & offered a variety of restaurants, shops, & places to grab a drink. Combine that with the coastal - farming conveniences - we bought & prepped the freshest meals I've ever had by shopping the local farmers markets... Not "just "farm to table" - here you get sea & farm to table! The rocky beach was a beautiful walk. Great trip with my family.

We really enjoyed our stay there. It is great place for water sports if you follow the tide tables. House is comfortable and well equipped. And LaConner is a great small town close by.

We loved our stay and enjoyed most sitting in the front (water) side as a family watching the sunsets and lingering well into the evening. The mud flats out front were beautiful but not walkable and so kayaking was limited to high tide. Great beach combing and looking for treasures. Great central location to La Conner and Anacortes. And don’t forgot Kukatali - a gem to hike and beach walk and learn about the history of the area! Overall great spot.

From the moment we walked into the house, we knew we had made the right choice. The view is unspeakable. You feel you are on the water. Every window has an amazing view

My husband and I just wanted a quick get away for our anniversary and we love La Conner. Quick less than 10 minute drive to La Conner. The house did not disappoint. The view was absolutely beautiful. The house was clean, comfortable, quiet and very spacious. We will keep in mind for our next family get away. 3 queen beds and 3 bathrooms. Awesome. Parking would be the only issue. Great for 1 car, 2 could squeeze but that's it. Thank you for a great stay. We will be back.

This house was cozy, plenty of space, filled with everything from home you’d need (fully stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, etc.). The location is great, far enough from town, where it’s so peacefully quiet. But close enough to town to get groceries, eat out for breakfast and dinner, and quite close to the tulip fields as well. Friends and I traveled without the kids, so we absolutely enjoyed it!

Everything was perfect about this place - easy communication with the owner, gorgeous location and convenient to the town of Laconner. Access to the beach was a real bonus.

Came to the skagit valley to see the tulips. The house was such a lovely retreat with great amenities, accessible to our activities, and beautiful views.

This was one of the nicest stays I've ever had. The view was incredible. The pictures really don't do it justice. The property was in great shape and extremely comfortable.
The host was a delight to deal with and made sure to follow up on every message to make sure we had what we needed.

This is a fantastic place to stay! We are a family of 6 and it was comfortable. The view and access to the water is amazing. Only complaint was the parking, though we were told ahead of coming that it was small. We had to park two cars in town and shuttle. Overall it was great weekend! Thank you

We used the cabin as a hub to visit various area attractions but the best feature was sitting and relaxing by the water.
Note: the tide is significant and can expose some flats at low tide.

We absolutely fell in love with the house and the view! Such tranquil and relaxing time with friends. Loved the location, so close to La Conner. We can't wait to come back again.

Place states sleeps 6 but price is based on per person. I never experienced a per person rate with other stays I have booked on Vrbo so didn’t think it would be an issue when another friend joined our trip just before we left, so just a heads up. Confirmation email with pdf agreement attached did not state stay is only based off 2 people. I booked many months in advance for 2 people. Didn’t realize until after the trip we would be charged. Should put that in the agreement sent via email after booking.
