A spacious, fully equipped, excellently located home. We had such an incredible holiday, including visits to Argyle Coffee, Mount Stuart, Steam boat Waverley, Colintraive and Portavadia. I highly recommend this home, with its private beach, quiet location and amenities. Thank you to the owner for such a lovely home.

An excellent place with wonderful views Good for total relaxation. Reading, walking along the loch and board games. Not much else to do which suited us. An excellent local shop but glad we took most supplies with us! No welcome pack which was very disappointing. If we hadn't bought teabags we would have been stuck! Shop closes at 6pm!!!!!

Excellent house set on a beautiful location. Ample space for the10 adults who visited the property. I would highly recommend and it offers great value for money of 10 adults sharing.

Very comfortable with lots of space. Very well equipped climbing down to the beach needs care but good fun for the children when there. An otter family playing was a bonus.

The property was outstanding in every way. There were eight of us, across three generations of family, and every single one of us was bowled over with the house. There was enough space and sufficient leisure rooms for us all to have our own space, as well as family space together. In addition to being spotlessly clean, it was modern and expansive, both inside and outside, with excellent facilities... including its own private beach! The views were stunning, and I would recommend this to any group wanting a break. The only thing you can't guarantee is the weather, but it was fun to watch not only the variety of yachts sailing past the house, but also the waves getting bigger and bigger from the loch-view window.
In addition to the house being ideal, the letting agents couldn't have been more friendly, efficient, helpful and professional. Their communication with me was excellent, and they went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied at every stage of the process.
Can't praise the whole experience enough.

This was our third stay in this house and we will return many more times ! Facilities are excellent, location is superb … and when you get weather like we just had this year, Tighnabruaich cannot be beaten.

I have been in this property so many times in the past few years and I do find the cottage absolutely comfortable, tidy and clean.
The owner is very kind and immediately ready to support in anyway.
I’m looking forward to be there soon again.

I have been at this cottage many many times and, as always,Argyll self catering and the owner are on top of everything.
I can’t be tired of being here, great location, beautiful house… fantastic landscaping

Rien à dire sur cette maison.
Emplacement merveilleux.
Confort excellent.
Manque juste une grande casserole pout dix personnes et une grande poêle à frire.

Amazing panoramic views over the water. Very comfortable well equipped large house. Just missing a cafatiere. Wouldn't recommend swimming off the beach but a stunning sandy bay at Ostell/Kilbride Bay gave a lovely swim

This is the third time we've stayed here and we still love it. Beautiful views and plenty of space in the loveliest part of the world. Highly recommend.

The house is fantastic, so roomy with all your entertainment needs catered for. We loved the floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the Kyles. As a family we used the beach everyday in order to launch our kayaks and paddle boards. We love the fact that we saw porpoises and seals swimming by and the boys went snorkelling to look at the sealife more closely. A holiday that made forever family memories.

Beautiful House and location
This house sits magnificently on the beach, so close to the water. Every bedroom window and all the living areas look out onto the water, for a relaxing ambience. The house is comfortable, well equipped and the lay out means you can always find a quiet space, The house and location offers something for everyone. We managed to go Paddle boarding, forest and coast walking, appreciate a shinty match, and a park and fairy trail for the wee ones to enjoy. We also watched dolphins and an otter. It’s a house to appreciate spending time with family and at the same time appreciating what nature offers you.

Spring break in Tighnabruaich
Spent a delightful few days with adult children and their partners in this perfect spot.
It certainly lived up to our expectations - a really superior 'cottage' with a location on the water front that is impossible to beat.
Two of our younger members actually went in swimming.
Thanks for a great time.

Stunning house and views
The house was incredible, I've never stayed anywhere like it. The kitchen had all the appliances you could need and plenty of dishware.
The beds and bedding were super comfortable and the showers and bath were great.
Outdoor area was fantastic even in February, and we managed to get a dip in the water.

Stunning property and location
What an amazing place and property, we were a family of 6 and honestly we did not get in the way of each other at all.
There were a couple of issues with no heating on when we arrived, so the house was freezing, no bin bags for rubbish, someone else's food remains in the cupboards, the fireplace had not been cleaned out of ashes. One of the main issues was floor cleaning was poor, there was old pasta under the sofa and dining table but my husband found the vacuum cleaner and we got the worst of it up.
BUT, this does not take away from the fact that this property is outstanding. the Area is stunning and the people around in the village very welcoming. We had a very relaxing time and would definitely stay here again. Don't let the small issues above put you off, it certainly hasn't put us off wanting to return, but if there are issues, they need raising, can't only have the good reviews without being honest can you !

Annual retreat
I can’t recommend this highly enough, the accommodation was spot on, comfortable and well equipped, amazing views and lots of car park space - so great if you are all travelling from different locations. Couple of lamps needed new lightbulbs but that was a minor issue. Loved the private beach - we went wild swimming everyday (would recommend swim shoes though!)

Glorious.
This is a wonderful property, it's without question the greatest place we've ever stayed. It has fantastic views, it's hugely spacious, it's brilliantly maintained and it's in the most fabulous location. We shall definitely return.

July 21 Holiday
Spent a lovely week in house. Very comfortable in an awesome location. Weather was great so spent most of time outside but with 3 social areas inside there was plenty of space if the weather had not been as good. House was well equipped and laundry room was a real bonus.
From reading previous reviews, we took some camping chairs for outside lounging in the sun.
Perfect property and location for family holiday and would thoroughly recommend. Will definitely return.

Taigh na Mara
Good value for money. Excellent location. Would be good to have better selection of smaller bowls for serving etc in the kitchen but overall very good.

Even better than before !
Our second stay here and the owners have carried out some excellent refurbishments since last year.
The location, facilities, equipment etc are all first class.
The booking agents were very helpful to deal with during the Covid confusion over numbers allowed in the house !

Lovely house
Lovely house right on the beach had a great time on the water, great outdoor space, comfy and clean with modern interior. Only downside was BBQ wasn’t available during our visit we would’ve loved sitting outside cooking in the Gazebo area. Apart from that would definitely recommend to friends and family
Thanks again

stunning location and excellent comfortable accommodation with views to die for.
The location of Taigh na Mara is superb, with beautiful natural scenery all around and it is so lovely and peaceful.
The accommodation is wonderful , we felt relaxed as soon as we entered the house and ready to enjoy our stay.
There are lovely walks in the area and many scenic places to visit..We love Otter Ferry, Portavadie, Tarbert, the Ardlamont estate & Tighnabruich itself. But there are many more beautiful spots to discover.

Outstanding house and location
Stunning property right on the seafront. Will definitely be back!!
4.8
Well appointed, lovely location
The house has panoramic views up and down the Kyles which can be enjoyed whatever the weather.
Several of our party swam from the rocks in front of the house.
The house is generously proportioned and we found everything we needed to self cater for a long weekend.
Highly recommended.

Excellent location
Lovely property, spacious and well equipped, and in a fantastic position on the waterfront. Nearby Kames Hotel great for food, but Tighnabruaich a disappointment as very little open and virtually impossible to get lunch. A drive to Portavadie did secure lunch.
4.8
Excellent in almost every respect
The location of the house and facilities within make it an excellent choice for a large family group. We have already rebooked for next year !
The only aspect that lets the property down a bit is the condition of some of the furnishings in the lounge / dining room and the entrance hallway where the carpetting is bit past its best and is badly (not) fitted in some places. The bedrooms and bathrooms by contrast are fine.
Also some of the 'information' notes around the house are rather out of date.....needs a bit of a sort out.
Hope this feedback is seen as constructive.

Fab stay!
Great property wonderful location. Everting we were looking for .

House with a view
Fabulous ,well equipped house .Floor to ceiling windows on 3 sides of the lounge, with amazing views onto the water+hills . Kitchen had plenty glasses, cutlery+ crockery .All the beds were very comfortable. The Kames hotel was a short walk away+ we had a lovely meal there on Hogmanay+ watched the fireworks at midnight. Would definitely return for another long weekend.

Brilliant birthday weekend!
Booked the house for its location and size for our group of 4 couples who were celebrating significant birthdays.
Location is amazing and the views are spectacular, particularly from the conservatory and deck. The property layout is arranged to take advantage of the outlook.
All rooms are simply furnished and each has a sea view.
The kitchen/ large conservatory area was the most used by our group, followed by the large dining room where we enjoyed having the fire on in the evenings.
We had a wonderful weekend and would recommend the house for groups of family, or friends!

Amazing stay
We had a fabulous time. The house was huge and in an amazing location. Kids loved the pool table and the private beach. Just wished we were there for longer.

Stunning house and location
We really enjoyed our stay at Tighnabruaich. The house was very cosy and the views over the water were amazing. We cooked quite a lot and found that the kitchen was very well equipped and it was great having a dishwasher. It's a short walk into Kames or Tighnabruaich village and the water is calm enough to kayak. I'd love to come back and stay again for longer.

Stunning
Family holiday for three generations. Pretty much everything was excellent. The views from the location are truly amazing and the house itself is a sight to behold. Very spacious and has everything you could need.
As easy as Kames is to find, you’ll need sat nav to find the house. The road to/from the house is a little treacherous on foot for those with mobility issues but plenty spaces to park vehicles at the house itself.

A lovely place
We had an amazing time here, the lodge was beautiful and clean, the views were stunning, all the family loved it and want to book again.

A lovely place to relax
Fantastic stay in this lovely house by the sea loch. Every room had fabulous views, and it was stunning in all weathers. Calm and still waters with reflections of Bute, then waves lapping on the beach, just outside the window. Fabulous to just sit, and watch the water. We spotted porpoises in front of the house!
Loved all the rooms, especially the stunning conservatory, the big pool room with spectacular views, and sitting outside bird spotting. Quiet and peaceful.
Beds were really comfy, with lovely linen, showers were great. Shop nearby, and the spa at Portaverdie only 10 mins away, with a luxurious outside heated pool, we all loved it.
Definitely want to come back!

Family weekend
Fantastic location and the view is worth every penny. House has just about everything you need. (no handsoap and broadband stopped working). All minor issues however with a rubbish signal on mobile (three) couldn't really communicate!
Loads of room in house and garden. With a bit of tlc inside and out would give 5 stars.
4.8
Teagh Na Mara
House was older and more worn out than appeared in images. Carpet fragments for area rugs, bathroom veneers, etc. The view from the glass room was excellent and favorite of the whole party.
Great food nearby at Tide and Thyme. Also no hand soap was provided and WiFi was spotty at best
4.8
Great Weekend
Friends and I enjoyed a great long weekend at the Taigh Na Mara. Located on the water with stunning views over the Loch, the house was very spacious and there was plenty to keep us occupied. The outdoor patio area and beach area was absolutely ideal, especially with the great weather we had. If I was nitpicking, the only slight downfall was the interior in some bedrooms were slightly dated. Would definitely recommend to others, fantastic value for money.

Christmas break
Beautiful house with stunning views and the pool table is great fun!
