This unique and cozy Government Camp vacation rental is the perfect place to stay while enjoying the snowy winters and pristine summers of the Mt. Hood region. The yard is great for picnics and basketball games in the summer and snowball fights and sledding in the winter.
Located right in the middle of Government Camp and just a few hundred feet from the Summit Ski Area, this home is in a beautiful spot for snow sports lovers. Timberline Lodge and its surrounding slopes are a quick drive up the mountain, and Mt. Hood Meadows is just over 10 miles away. In the summer, when most of the snow has melted on the mountain, there are still many activities to keep busy. Miles of hiking and biking trails crisscross the forested wilderness, offering some of the best views of the region. Nearby lakes such as Timothy Lake, 20 miles south, and Clear Lake,10 miles south, provide fabulous opportunities for swimming, boating, fishing, and picnicking. If you crave the amenities of a larger town, drive on the beautiful, tree-lined highway west for 30 miles to reach Sandy, which has a variety of restaurants and stores.
This home has a uniquely long shape with a small but efficient floor plan. The lower level contains a dining/sitting room to eat, catch up, or play games. The full kitchen is snug at first glance, but it is well-equipped with everything you'll need to cook delicious meals. Upstairs, there is a second living room with plentiful seating, a cable TV, DVD player, Wii system, stereo, and a selection of DVDs and board games. This home also has WiFi and books to borrow, so you'll have no trouble finding ways to keep entertained! The top floor also has a washer/dryer, so you won't have to worry about getting your clothes wet or dirty while exploring the area. The bedroom has a balcony.

Very disappointed in Vacasa. Our rental had a power outage and frozen pipes. Our rental payment was not returned. They told us we could stay at this rental within the next 30 days! I have a job and can't afford to take more time off.

Perfect for a week of summer skiing and bumming around The Hood.

I stayed here with my 2 sons for a snowboarding camp. I would stay here again with the whole family. The upstairs is very accommodating and spacious. The small kitchen has everything you need.

The cabin is nicely located in Govy, easy walk to restaurants, pub. Main beds are comfy, we did not try out the many futons. Obviously good for a big group of skiers in the winter. Simple abode, could use some updating. Good if you’re just looking for something simple, a place to sleep, in between your daylight adventures.

We loved the location and the layout of the cabin. Lots of entertainment options! We loved the old-fashioned decor and the futons. Will definitely stay here again!

Great spot, but no fans in the entire house and it was HOT when we were there. Little things like multiple fans, pizza cutter, and decent shower curtain would make the stay four star worthy

The vacation here was great. I wad impressed fhat
Vacasa staff fixed a heater issue during the July 4th weekend.
There a couple of inconveniences : (1) the kitchen is tiny and doesn't have a dishwasher and (2) the shower is also tiny.
Barring these two, inconveniences everything else was very good: owners havd thoughtfully left some toys and games for varying ages. The kitchen has a reasonable collection of spices just in case we forget some spices.
We can also get a partial vidw of Mt. Hood ftom one of the windows.
Overall, a great place.

The house was clean upon arrival; and everything was so well organized and easy to find. I loved the labels which made it easier to find everything. There were lots of extra blanket and pillows easily accessible too! Everything we needed. Easy check in and check out.

Worked well for what we needed
There were a few kinks here and there that required us to be a bit flexible, but overall, it accomplished what we needed - a warm place to stay with plenty of beds for everyone while we spent a few days out of the snow.

Awesome White Christmas
Our family of 4 had a great time at chalet - it is close to restaurants (like Glacier Public House) and Timberline Summit Pass ski area, it had everything you need in the small kitchen, 2 baths, 2 bedrooms + extra sleeping area upstairs and enough room for the 4 of us to stay all together or split up in the 2 living areas (one upstairs and one downstairs).
Would definitely consider going again even in the summer as the house has a large deck and grill.

Dishes were filthy and had to be hand washed. Each and every piece. The BarBQ was equally disgusting. To top it off, when we bought food to cook, it didn’t work. Had to toss 4 steaks, chicken breasts, and pork away. Cost almost $125. Very disappointed in how the was left for us. The home itself was relaxing and enjoyable.

Cozy, Quiet Yet Close to Fun Activities
It was quiet and cozy, very nice for romantic summer getaway. Nice to have good restaurants a short walk or drive down the hill. Easy hike on the nearby Crosstown Trail and visited Timberline too. Well stocked entertainment options, bedding, toys, and kitchen. You can open the windows for cool mountain breezes plus there are fans provided. We enjoyed hanging outside alot; wifi was fine for us. Very much ideal for young family or teens staying on the top floor with their bath and having another guest/couple on the bottom floor with own bath and easy kitchen access. We really enjoyed it!

A basic property, but with everything you need.
My wife and I stayed here for five nights. This, in my opinion, is a basic property, but has everything you need to be comfortable. Good location.
A narrow house, kind of like a two-story bowling alley. The first floor has the kitchen, an eating area, a bedroom, and a bath. Upstairs is what one would call a family room with a TV and fold out couches, a bedroom, and a bath.
A very small kitchen, well equipped, but with no dishwasher. Good Verizon cell service, and reasonable WiFi speed.
The property manager is first class. We had a couple of minor maintenance issue when we checked in. They had them resolved in a day. They would have been taken care of the same day we reported the issues, but we put the repair person off to the next day.

Great price! Great location!
I think this house is great for a family weekend up to the Mt Hood area. Vacasa managers were great, house was clean, loved the cotton sheets (vs microfiber or polyester), and there were PLENTY of pillows and blankets to get comfy.

Enjoyed the location
Went up for last weekend of snow and there was plenty left. The rental was perfect for a small family. Kids loved it with the upstairs available for them to play games.

Spring break get away
We stayed with my 2 teens, who were attending spring ski camp at meadows. Location wise it was very convenient to do back forth from Mt. Hood Meadows. Was able to stop by couple of tracking and site seeing spots in between so very convenient. House is very cozy. There is work needed to clean 1st floor wooden floor and upstair bath tub(it was clogging). We enjoyed our 2 night stay.

Best Deal On Mt. Hood!
Great 2 story cabin in excellent location. Has a small sledding hill right next to the house that is perfect for small kids. Someone who has spent a lot of time in the snow set this place up with hooks everywhere to dry your gear off, it’s amazing! It’s packed with dvds, kids movies, has internet, cable, and tons of other things we were surprised to see at a vacation rental. Small kitchen and downstairs but huge upstairs open area where you would spend all your time. The location is excellent, no way you can beat this place for this price. Thank you and would highly recommend!

Nice Mountain Getaway
Cute mountain getaway. Lots of games and toys for children. Smelled like smoke when we got there, but I think this is due to the fires in the area. We aired it out and put fans on and it helped immensely. The stay was great. We did have an issue that the BBQ was broken, the tray below the grill fell out while the BBQ was one and it could have been a huge fire hazard if my husband hadn't been right there. We tried to call the number given in the binder in the house from Vacasa and the number wasn't in service. Other than that the stay was comfortable, the downstairs bed was comfortable as was the upstairs bed. The kids of course didn't mine the foutons. Lots of sleeping space.

This place had every thing we needed except laundry soap. Cleanliness was Okay.
Property needs some TLC. Carpet needs shampooed badly. And it is extremely cluttered.

Great Location!
The house is in an amazing location on top of a hill with wooded surroundings. You can walk to hiking trails or downtown in minutes. It is cute and comfortable. It was incredibly clean. The Vacasa team did a great job. We had everything that we needed. Thank you!

Cozy
House was perfectly located for us. We enjoyed being close to hiking trails, downtown and close to Mt. Hood since we had to drive to Timberline every day to drop off our son and friend who were participating in summer ski camp. Kitchen is small so we grilled every night to save on space. House had all the necessities we needed. We would definitely stay again if we are back in the area.

Great Location in Govy
We were close to restaurants. There is only one true bedroom. Something to keep in mind if you're wanting privacy but the upstairs is great for families. Lots of sleeping space.

Fits Your Needs with Comfort
The cottage will fullfill your needs. It's comfy, warm, clean and stocked. There's plenty of choices to sleep around the small cottage. The kitchen may be a tad small but as long as you use a little imagination you can do anything in it. Use the big table for chopping for there's not a lot of counter space and create your own cupboard/storage space. Great location for it takes 5 minutes to walk into Government camp Main Street. It was a pleasure. Thank you.

Clean and convenient
Our family of 5 stayed here 3 nights while we explored the numerous hiking trails on Mt. Hood. This very clean house is within walking distance to Government Camp's stores and restaurants and only 10 minutes away from Timberline Lodge (FYI free coffee at the lodge if you go early to watch the sunrise!). We celebrated my daughter's 21st birthday with delicious pizza and drinks at the Ratskeller in town. We really enjoyed the museum which is open everyday and is free. We slept in the downstairs bed and let our kids take over the upstairs where there are games, toys, and 2 TVs and an assortment of movies. Our bed was very comfortable. There's an abundance of bedding and towels provided. Yes, the kitchen is tiny but functional. Knowing that ahead of time, I brought premade meals (e.g. chili) and we used the very nice grill on the deck for hot dogs one night. We enjoyed the deck a lot for eating, hanging out, and playing games. Surprisingly, we didn't have to deal with mosquitoes! The neighborhood was mostly quiet and the nearby house empty while we were there. You can easily hear Hwy 26, but that's going to be true of any house in Govt Camp. Overall, the house was a great base camp for our daily excursions and the price was fabulous!
