Great house and perfect for our family of 4. Our 2 grown boys had 2 bedrooms and a bath upstairs and mom and dad had the master on the main floor. Love this location!

I loved my stay at Chalet Alpine. AFrame is tucked in the woods/trees and cozy. Lightning in chalet is darker than marketing photos but inviting.
Owner checked in with me several times during my stay which was appreciated.

Location, location, location! This property is in the heart of all the attractions in the Boone, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk area. Gated community provides peace of mind and security. We enjoyed our visit and the amenities provided. The directions and check-in process were a breeze. The security team at the gate were always courteous and delightful. The kitchen is well equiped and the furnishings were comfortable and quality. The only negatives are the 20 irregular stone steps to get to the Chalet from the parking area. There is no handrail so some of us more seasoned adults may need a helping hand. The path is well lite at night which makes a big difference. The 1st floor primary suite is very comfortable, but space is very limited. It's an older Chalet and part of the charm is the rustic nature of the materials and space.
Great place that adds to the overall experience of being in the mountains.

My adult daughter and I enjoyed a weekend of rest and relaxation together in this cozy cabin. The first half of the weekend was rainy, windy and cold, but we still enjoyed exploring Boone, then coming back to the cabin to read and chat in front of the fireplace. The second half of the weekend was better weather and perfect for exploring Blowing Rock. The cabin is clean, comfortable, well-stocked and in a very safe neighborhood. This cabin is perfect for a friends' getaway or a family getaway.

From the moment we arrived, we was captivated by the restful ambiance and the picturesque beauty that surrounded us. The chalet's mountain furniture decor added an authentic touch to the overall atmosphere. Every corner of the space was thoughtfully adorned, creating a warm and inviting environment. It felt like stepping into a cozy mountain retreat, a true home away from home. The owners were very responsive!! Thank you, Arion and Wendy!!

Our family really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is beautiful and located in a really nice community. We were impressed by how well the homes blended into the landscape. The hosts did a nice job of staying in touch and answering questions for us. The cabin is a short drive to both Boone and Blowing Rock, but also feels appropriately remote - just what you would want in a cabin experience!

Beautiful Cozy cabin, we had a great getaway from Charlotte, loved being so close to Blowing Rock and Boone, excellent restaurants near by, lovely home.

Great visit for our family of four. Thoroughly enjoyed the gas fireplace. Neighborhood was amazing! Only suggestion is that we needed more lamps/lighting. Otherwise a great little place to stay while skiing. Host went above and beyond!! Great visit!

We had a fantastic stay right before Christmas. The house has a great setup with the 3 bedrooms, a comfortable living room with fireplace, and a nice size kitchen and dining area. Although it was chilly, we also enjoyed the spacious outdoor deck. The location is perfect to visit both Sugar/Beech and get over to Blowing Rock. Owners were very responsive and even retrieved and returned a forgotten item for us. Five star experience all around!

Charming and comfy. A perfect place for our "college kid" to rest and recharge before heading back to school.
We were not able to operate the fireplace. That said- we will plan to stay again and know that, that glitch will be solved.
Thank you so much for a great weekend retreat!

We loved Chalet Alpine. Our children said it was one of their favorite houses yet. The A frame is unique and perfect for a fall weekend.

Facts from our stay:
1) We stayed 3 nights and paid peak pricing.
2) House was dark, so we began trying to figure out the lights. Switches were labeled but not all did what the label said so that was puzzle #1.
3) Bedroom TV remote never did work so no TV at night in the bedroom.
4) The ice maker had strange crystals in it thus the ice was solid….so we bought ice (note it is a 40+ minute round trip to the store)
5) Fireplace did NOT work- ever as the instructions were simple and clear.
6) Took mildew infested grill cover off and found the dirtiest grill…so never got to use that.
7) Lamp by our bed was not working and after trying new bulb and multiple outlets it never did work so we went and bought a new lantern.
8) The use of the word “Luxe” in the description is NOT right as we honestly could not say anything was Luxe.
9) The amount of cob webs was incredible even as we had to pay a cleaning fee up front.
10) We noted some basic things missing we would have expected to find: NO Kleenex, Broom, Curtains by sink (eary), Light bulbs and other basics.
Had about 18 inches to get out of bed do to a large omwar they put in there.
The way they listed this cabin, was NOT what we got. To date I have gotten no response on a refund from owner. Here are 2 listings to consider—larger, less $’s, and well decorated. Property #’s 808105 and 1498226.
This owner has a bad habit of putting people’s honest reviews back on them as if they are lying or it was their fault!!

Beautiful chalet nestled in a gorgeous, gated community close to downtown Boone, Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Chalet is well equipped with everything you need for your stay. Cozy mountain decor adds to the warm ambiance. The upstairs area was a delight for our boys as they felt tucked away in their own space. Host was great about checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall, a wonderful stay we hope to visit again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Chalet Alpine. This is a beautiful gated community. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The property owners were fantastic often replied to questions within minutes. The property was clean and well-maintained with a beautiful deck that made you feel like you were in a treehouse. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property. It was fantastic!

This cabin was difficult and uncomfortable. The owners were responsive, but clearly hadn’t been checking on it regularly. Dirty floors, bathrooms, and no cleaning equipment whatsoever. We had no heat the first night and the fireplace didn’t work. The disposal was broken. There were none of the normal amenities at this price point - empty pantry, no shampoo, cheap kitchen knives and pans. The neighborhood was nice (dog park a perk), and we met many of the full time home owners. The cabin itself, though, was way below expectations.

This property is very much as described. Less than 15 mins from downtown Boone. Also very easy to get to Blowing Rock and the Blue Ridge parkway.
We enjoyed relaxing in the house and on the deck. The golf course is beautiful, although we did not have our clubs with us on this short trip. There are great hiking trails at the top of the neighborhood. I highly recommend.

Back in the summer of 2020, when the Covid numbers were high in the Eastern NC cities, I had the idea to spend a long weekend in Western NC where the numbers were very low.
It did not get to happen, but I have been wanting to stay at the property for three years and was not disappointed.
It is charmingly decorated. The kitchen and bathroom tiles/pavers are perfect for the setting. We stayed downstairs, our children and 16 year old grandson slept in the big bedroom upstairs and our granddaughter drove over from college in Asheville .

This was one of the best kept cabins we have stayed at. The location was perfect. Close to Blowing Rock and ample outdoor adventure to take advantage of at Hounds Ear. It was tranquil and a much needed getaway. We will be back next year.

What's not to love about this A-Frame in Hound Ears Club? The house has a fantastic deck and is just a short walk away from the Hound Ears Clubhouse. You are within 15 minutes of Blowing Rock and Boone, and the hosts are incredibly helpful and accommodating. This is a great house for any occasion.

Hound Ears is always lovely. This was quintessential Hound Ears.
3.0 / 10.0
NOT for the elderly: narrow, winding road and very limited awkward parking; twenty steep steps up with luggage; sticking screen door a constant source of frustration; house SMELLS unclean; lumpy bed downstairs, no safety bars in the bath; dog park a mile away with no other place for dog elimination; hiking trails inaccessible except by 4 wheel drive.
