great location
we were not prepared for how remote the location … if we had known we would have bought groceries on our way to the property… and eaten our evening meal prior to arrival… just a bit more communication would have made a huge different… how to turn on heat, hot water… once turned in all good.

Location is amazing. Property is very comfortable and the people on site are really friendly and helpful.
Nothing to not like. However, you do need to come prepared by buying provision before arrival as local shops and pub were closed for first 2 days of our visit.

Spectacular Iconic location. Fantastic tour included in the booking price. Toasty warm on cold windy days. Washing machine a bonus!
Small bed that has seen better days. Could do with an upgrade to a modern mattress

An extraordinary location - with amazing views of the beautiful Donegal coastline. It is a real privilege to spend time here. The accommodation is cosy, well appointed and very comfortable. I stayed in the Dunree cottage - suitable for one person or a couple.

Exceptional location with a great view on the ocean and the mountains
Far away from any facilities (shops...) especially during winter as the local pub is closed at this period of the year.

The Lighthouse itself and history around it. Also the surrounding areas and view from the Lighthouse was just amazing.

Fabulous location, lovely, well equipped apartment with great views. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Informative complementary tour of the lighthouse included.
Nothing. Everything was prefect including the weather!

Peace and quiet in a beautiful location. Great little museum about the lighthouse as well.
Heating in the downstairs hall and bathroom would be nice🙂

Location was excellent, cottage was large and spacious, lovely Christmas tree and small welcome pack. Lighthouse tour very informative. John, the maintenance man, was very friendly and accommodating.
I was given no key collection details on email or by phone and assumed that there would be contact details on arrival but there wasn't. I needed to go back through my booking.com emails where I found a phone number which I called and it was answered by the site manager, who then contacted the maintenance person to drive down to the lighthouse to hand over keys. There was no Wifi or phone signal by the lighthouse so I was very lucky to be able to get my emails and to find a number and even luckier that the mobile number was answered! Or else we would've been knocking on pub doors (difficult due to Covid restrictions shutting pubs early) or on private homes, OR sleeping in the car overnight.
There needs to be some bathroom hooks for towels.

If you’re looking to go of grid with peace and tranquillity, Fanad is the ticket. Definitely need three days to fully unwind from a hectic world.
nothing to note

Location is unreal, like been at the end of the world, with the swell of the sea and the landscape around you, it is like unlike anywhere else, one special place.

What a fantastic, unique place to stay! The cottage we had is 200 years old with the kind of quirks you would expect. It was cozy, had all we needed and staying at a working lighthouse was a wonderful experience. The views around the lighthouse were fabulous when it was clear, and the cottage was a cozy retreat when it wasn’t. We just loved it!
A better selection of basic cooking items given the distance from any stores.

Magnificent scenery and location. We stayed in the larger house which gave us plenty of space. Waking up surrounded by the ocean and one morning greeted by dolphins was certainly a highlight of the vacation
Nothing, everything was magic
