About this apartment rental
Life in the City - your home away from home in Central London!
A cool top floor penthouse apartment offering 110 sqm of living space, including a 40 sqm decked terrace overlooking the financial city. You'll be in the heart of the city - the buzz (and delicious food) of the market street below by day, the quiet you need to rest by night.
The penthouse is a newly built conversion on top of what used to be a pub-house (turned into a cool and lively cafe) and is great both for business visitors to London (walking distance to the City, 2 stops from Kings Cross), as well as tourists (a 10 min walk to St. Paul's and from there take the tube to Oxford street or cross the river over to the Tate Modern for example).
The 40 sqm decked terrace of the flat with expansive views on the City is what makes this place special and is a great end of day destination and a nice brunch/lunch spot any time of the week (London weather permitting).
The master bedroom has a king-size bed, the smaller bedroom has a reclining sofa, that can sleep two. The bathroom has a bathtub as well as a separate shower.
Fully equipped kitchen, including a blender (great for smoothies any time of day), juice press (to satisfy your thirst for fresh orange juice) and a Nespresso coffee machine to help you wake up in the morning. A large oven and stove as well as a microwave, for those who feel the need to cook at home, although there are a bunch of great places at your doorstep (Turkish, sushi, Vegan, Thai, Indian, Italian, Ramen noodles and more).
For groceries, Waitrose supermarket is just down the street.
Please note, the penthouse is situated on the top (3rd) floor of an old pub house conversion. As such, there is no lift in the building, not recommended for guests who may have mobility problems. The flip side of the walk up the stairs are the sweeping views of the city from the large outdoor space of the terrace.
Walking distance to St. Paul's cathedral, Tate Modern, Tower bridge, etc. Close to 3 metro stops/5 metro lines: Barbican, Old Street and St. Paul's.
Open market on Whitecross is fun and delicious!
Who loves it: business travellers; solo travellers; families with kids; couples or friends visiting London for the weekend;
At your doorstep: the Barbican; Guildhall school of music; Smithfields; Shoreditch; Kingscross St Pancrass; Sandlers Wells; Bank of England;

The apartment is easily accessible to transport, groceries, food outlets and walking to central London. We had great weather and enjoyed the outdoor deck and light airy living space for 3 adults. Thank you Milena

The host is excellent. She made sure to reach out and really explain how to get to the apartment and how to get in. Very nice because it was late and we were tired. Clean. Said penthouse and we had no issues, but forgot not a lot of lifts. Some might have issues with the stairs and luggage.

Great location, quiet area in the evening, tons of food options just outside the apartment. Tube locations 5-10 minutes away. Flat is on the 3rd floor, but you have a wonderful view on the rooftop terrace. Our family really enjoyed the flat’s layout and great beds.

Communication was great. Accurately described. Roof deck was fantastic. Walking distance to two tube lines, cafe and local pubs. Food trucks on street during the week and appreciated having air conditioning as we were there during a heat wave.

Apartment was perfect for what we needed. Clean and well appointed, and while the weather didn’t always cooperate, the deck access was really nice when the sun peeked out. Finally, Milena was proactive with the communication and very attentive during our stay.

Close to public transportation. Great location to just stroll around. Every weekday you can just step outside to the street vendors setting up for lunch crowd and try the different foods. I highly recommend.

Place is great, might be a bit of a climb for some, no lift but worth it.

Check in was a nightmare. Arrived at 1am and couldn’t find the keys. No lighting. Very dark. Key was behind a box and the wall. Walked around till we found hotel. $220.

The apartment had everything we needed. If the weather had cooperated, it would have been great to spend more time on the terrace. Very walkable area. Try Kennedy's for fish and chips (and other good entrees) - delicious food and very friendly staff.

We enjoyed our recent stay at this property. Thanks to the owner for communicating promptly, especially as our arrival was a little different to normal. Four persons is a squeeze, but the couch worked as a bed. Beds were comfortable, the kitchen was great (note that the range hood is very low and I kept banging my head, you would think I would have learned). The stairs are quite steep and narrow, your blood will really be pumping by the time you get to the top. And the local area there is every type of cuisine you might desire and as an added bonus a weekday lunch market operates with 30 or so different foods for under £10 or so. Most buses you need are a five minute walk and the tube, typically from the Barbican which is a 10 minute walk. It’s very close to central London proper so you can enjoy the touristy trips with ease. All in all, good value and a great location.

This was a perfect place for our family of four to stay. We enjoyed the area and could easily get around the city from this spot. Milena was an excellent host and always quick to respond. We could tell that she genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay. We talked about getting a hotel room, but so glad we didn’t.

A fantastic place to stay in a great neighbourhood where people....and not only tourists exist. Waitrose is just down the street for all your grocery needs. 2 pubs (locals) are less than 2 min away. Stay here and ride the Tube from Old Street or Barbican and better yet, ride the NEW Elizabeth line to Farringdon for a short walk to the apartment. Milena was super great to work with. You will love this.

We had a wonderful stay. Communication with Milena was clear and the check in process easy. Spacious and spotless inside and we had wonderful weather to enjoy the terrace for coffee in mornings and several dinners outside. As others have noted there is no elevator so you do get your exercise!

Great location in a hip part of London. The images posted are accurate and we loved our stay here.
Milena may be the greatest host I have ever worked with, and I travel a great deal. Her communication and willingness to help, as well as sharing so much great info about the area goes above and beyond what I have seen.
Book this flat with confidence - was great for our family of four.

There were plenty of dining options on the street outside our door and even a a very nice grocery store. The street was quiet in the evenings. The location was within walking distance of several stations.

My teen daughters stayed a week at Milena’s property. It is really like your own home. Once you get over walking up the 3 flights of stairs you enter the apartment to view the amazing terrace where we spent many hours enjoying the view and warm weather. Even though location of keys is interesting , milenas very detailed communication makes it easy. Your nearest underground is either Barbican or old Street which are about an 8 minute walk. Apartment is spacious with 2nd bedroom suitable for 1 person. Would definitely recommend staying.

My husband and I stayed here for a week in mid-May. It was bright, clean, comfortable and modern. The location was perfect for us to walk most places or to take the tube from the Barbican Station to places farther out. We enjoyed many of the good restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. Milena was responsive and helpful. The terrace was a real bonus. We will recommend this place to our friends!

We had a lovely Stay in The Fantastic app. But there was a smell in the little room, that our grandson did’nt like to sleep in, so he slept on the couch in The Living room. We Think it was The smell from all The foodmaking on The streetmarket near by 😫😫
But every thing else was okay. Lots of stairs to The top 😫😫🙏

This flat was absolutely a dream—it was central, well connected to public transportation, and close to many grocery stores and food spots. The flat itself was lovely and we really enjoyed having the terrace to ourselves! Additionally, we felt extremely safe in this neighborhood even when arriving back home late in the evenings. Note that this flat is up 4 flights of stairs, so it was a bit of a trek with heavy luggage.
Milena herself was an amazing host! She was attentive, responsive, and super accommodating when we requested a later checkout. Overall, this flat was honestly such a great spot to come back to after a long day out and about exploring and it felt equally as homey + cozy for a slow day in or for working remotely. Cannot recommend enough!

We spent a lovely extended week end there to attend the graduation ceremony of our daughter. The apartment is in a nice neighborhood (coffee shop and restaurant in the vinicity), is well served by buses and tube and ideally located closed to the centre. The apartment is cosy with a nice living area where you can enjoy a cool evening after a busy day visiting London. The owner was very helpful with timely and positive response to our requests. We can only recommend the place.

This place was a perfect size for our Christmas holiday—I would love to use it again in the summer to be able to use the outside deck space! That was an incredible bonus! Milena was so responsive to a few questions and so helpful!

Most the things are covered by the other reviews. Great location, beautiful place and very helpful host. In fact, we felt the living room & room kitchen are better than what you gather from descriptions and pictures. We came in cold December and it took a while for the apartment to get warm. But, afterwards it was a good time.

This was a wonderful, central location. Italian restaurant and the corner was great as Two Brewers on the opposite corner was a great spot for a night cap after a long day of walking. Easy to get to multiple metro stops.

The location of the flat was WONDERFUL! Proximity to the Underground stations is unbeatable. You can literally get anywhere easily. It is in a great neighborhood with lots of character. The market down the street is convenient and the personnel friendly. Love the murals on the buildings near by. Street vendors were AWSOME. Beautiful well equipped flat, quiet and private. The deck was definitely a major bonus! We loved sitting out there enjoying our morning tea/coffee and evenings after our adventures of the day.
