Beautiful court yard
Issues with plumbing had to move rooms during the night.
Very nosey till early hours as on the high street next to a club or pub

Beautiful old building, quirky features, comfortable rooms, lovely courtyard. Decent food and good bars.
Great city centre location.
Staff very helpful.
The car park is tiny and not really suitable for SUVs or larger cars.

Outside of the building really stunning and desk staff were really sweet and very helpful.
Our room wasn’t very clean. It looked as though the floor hadn’t been hoovered in a week. No complimentary water and low flush toilets. Don’t think it should be classed as 4 star hotel.

Beautiful historic building. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Great central location.
The shower was a bit small, it felt very cramped. The room was fine but probably in need of updating. It was very humid in the room.

2.5
Location was close to city centre, shops restaurants and Cathedral.
We had travelled from Cornwall and hoped for a peaceful stay only to find the hotel was too close to a pub or night club that played loud music until 2am.

Excellent location in the centre of Salisbury.
Lovely courtyard with very friendly and healthy looking black cat with half of one ear missing.
Main part of the hotel has comfort and character.
Rooms are basic at best but clean enough.
Room was two floors up and no wifi in rooms.
Had to come down to the courtyard or hotel to get a signal.
Complementary package quite stingy. No biscuits and they should not state in the welcome pack that bottled water is provided when it is not.
Worst aspect of the room was the bath/shower which I found positively dangerous.
The bathroom ceiling was quite low and the fixed shower head was above the bath. This means that when you are standing in the bath, if you are any more than about 5'9" you can't stand under the shower head. This is a problem because there is no non-slip mat and the bath only has a very small "non slip" patterned area right beneath the shower head. It is no more than about 12" (300mm) in diameter. This means that if you are more than average height you have to stand away from the non-slip area and bend over to get under the shower head. I resorted to putting a hand towel in the bath to stand on to prevent slipping but this is also far from safe.

Great location
No parking at hotel

We have stayed here on 3 occasions now and it’s
a perfect location to be able to visit Salisbury
and then wind down and relax in the lounge with
a meal and drinks.
Always a good nights sleep and then a value for money breakfast.
We always leave content and wanting to stay again asap
Parking isn’t ideal but given the location there isn’t any other options.

Most of it
Plumbing in room seemed a bit dated

Absolutely lovely hotel, staff were extremely helpful and Sunday lunch was great. We will definitely stay here again.

Welcome at reception. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is set back from the road in a quaint courtyard, so despite being in the city centre you’re just a couple of steps away from tranquility.
Just a small point is that there’s a sign asking guests not to slam doors. It’s on an A4 piece of paper roughly taped to a door. A purpose made sign would make it look more professional.

The inn was a fabulous old building, the breakfast and the breakfast staff were lovely.
The water pressure in the shower was very poor.

Location was great. Most staff very good.
Hotel is very tired looking. In the morning we had a sewage smell. Breakfast very haphazard, needs more organising. Hated how Booking .com didn't tell me about £15 charge for car parking until after I had paid even though I had filtered my choices of wanting parking included in my searches. The hotel said it was a big complaint with people staying.

A really impressive, extremely old building, well maintained as a very nice hotel. The staff were very nice and the location is excellent for central Salisbury.
I was just unlucky to be there the night of a wedding, and my room seemed to be immediately above the function room, which was very loud. Thankfully it didn't go on too late.

It was a lovely old building unfortunately no lift
It wasn’t clean and nobody listened to complaints. No lift! No dinner service!

Location was excellent.

clean and tidy
Room we had was opposite a nightclub so noisy
4.5
Front desk staff were GREAT! Suite in the older part of the building (dates back to 13th century) was nice. Large bathroom with bright fixtures. Coronation High Tea was fabulous. Parking inside was great for safety. If it's available, it's safer than the adjacent public lot.
Bathroom floor was worn. Clean, but some floortile bits were missing. Mattress had a distinct slope to slide both of us to the middle of the bed. Needs releveling with an under-bed prop or new mattress.

The room was great and the staff weee exemplary so helpful
3.5
The pillows and mattress were comfortable. The room is clean. Nice pub downstairs.
The room has very old plumbing.

Breakfast, hospitality surroundings all very nice. Night shift looked after me arriving late to venue.
Nothing not to like.
1.5
The location of the hotel.
The room was not 4 star. There was loud music playing in the bar until gone midnight which was directly under our room. The temperature of shower was not adjustable and was red hot. Lots of other little things that made it not acceptable.

it was really a cool place. Nice old building.
Our internet didn’t work in our room. They tried it in two other rooms and it didn’t work there either. We did use it in the bar area but it was inconvenient and needs repaired.
