Absolutely love the 15th century pub, the quietness of the location.
The creeky boards when walking around in the room, especially at night time when you can hear others in next room lol.

Beautiful location in a chocolate box village with lots of thatched cottages, great pub food, super friendly staff and lovely pub garden beautifully planted. We’ve now been three times, each a one night stay. And plan to stay again next year!

Lovely area and nice quiet rooms.
Couple of the staff were a little lax in terms of service and had to ask a few times for things, but lovely on the whole.

Location and bar and waiting staff.
Unfortunately it’s a no!
Great location and lovely building but that’s where it ends as unfortunately the room we were given had large dips in the mattress where the springs are evidently gone and the mattress needs replacing, I reported this to staff who said they would sort it out but when went back to check there was a lump in the middle of the bed and both sides of mattress now slopped, so again spoke to staff who told me they are waiting for mattresses to be replaced. I asked for the manager but unfortunately as they took to much time to come and we had a taxi waiting for family party, we had to go and asked for the manager to phone me, but they never did, when we returned we looked under the mattress and found a pillow had been stuffed underneath.
After a terrible nights sleep my mum sort out the manager who said they weren’t interested and left the premises, I then went to speak with the staff and asked to speak to manager and a lady who looked like the chef came out saying she was the owner and told me wasn’t interested and that people actually request that particular room, what with busted springs in the mattress?! she refused to come and look at the mattress with me, as no way anyone would request to sleep in a bed like that. She was rude in her manner and not at all interested or apologetic in anyway, which is not how anyone should be met under the circumstances and am sorely disappointed considering I’d booked three rooms in total for myself and family and we also eaten in the restaurant.
With regards to the food, it was simply okay, not amazing but not terrible.

We loved the beautiful garden. It was really hot and the garden was a perfect place to chill at the end of the day. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. would really recommend.

Lovely location very nice staff my only gripe would prefer better sausages with breakfast ones supplied were mote like chipolatas not a proper meaty sausage
The breakfast sausages and if you are a dog friendly pub at least have friendly dogs not the one that was barking constantly whilst we eere trying to eat

Beautiful location, very peaceful, extremely friendly staff and extremely clean room
Perhaps a little dated but quaint and not any reason to be put off at all.

The meal provision was outstandingly good, with an evening menu that was wide in choice and prepared to a very high standard. Service from a well-coordinated friendly team was second-to-none. The 'real ale' is kept well and the choice of beer very agreeable.
When appreciating the pre-dinner environment of the upper bar area, the background music tended to be too loud for us. On our second evening, the high volume was noticed by one of the staff team, who offered to turn it down without any comment being made by us. Personally, we would have been quite happy with no sound at all, but realise this is a matter of customers' tastes overall.
