Beautiful hotel and grounds. Staff were very polite and friendly. Breakfast was absolutely delicious.
Our only negative comment was that the room we stayed in on the top floor, which was lovely, and despite the outside temperature not being overly warm - we couldn't sleep due to the heat in the bedroom. We had the window wide open, so there was a traffic noise and although there was a fan provided, it didn't help much. I think the room really needs air conditioning.

Did not wait for breakfast.
Access via lift much appreciated.

Having stayed here some years ago, the improvements made to the rooms and the overall impression of the hotel is that it remains a traditional place to stay, but one which is of 21st century quality. Particularly outstanding are the staff who showed genuine interest and helpfulness. Pleased we chose to stay there and will do so again.

Location
Place was tired and had damage in the room. Room was excessively hot even with the fan running.
Floor was dirty hadn’t been cleaned properly. Toenail clippings everywhere. Noisy hotel could hear all noises and people using the bathrooms

The property is situated in a beautiful spot, the gardens are lovely. The restaurant is very good, food was brilliant. All the staff are very attentive and friendly.
The shower is not the best. As it’s a small cubicle it’s impossible to regulate the heat without being under the shower head. This means it’s freezing cold then hot before you get the chance to regulate it.
After staying in large rooms on previous visits our room this time was quite small. So a slight disappointment.

Was what we expected from information given by booking .com

The staff were very friendly very helpful very clean hotel.
Staff uniform very posh

only bad thing was our room - very noisy from traffic as it was right up to the road so we had a bad night’s sleep

This is our second stay because we just love everything here. I would like to mention "Nelson" who had a cheeky cheerful energy & really looked after us. The meal we had was delicious.
We stayed in the annex again which caters for our dog. We love it in there. The bed is so comfortable & the shower is fabulous especially the shower gel and shampoo. The breakfast is absolutely amazing.. we will definitely be coming back. Dulverton is only a 20min drive which is a lovely town too. My dog loves the stream to have a dip into. Everyone is so friendly. We popped into a cafe and had a cheese chutney scone which was delicious.

Beautiful property in a lovely location. Rooms decorated really nicely.
Breakfast was only ok. Hotel and restaurant were cold.

Location excellent when travelling from Yorkshire to Falmouth. We’re not able to have dinner but enjoyed an excellent breakfast and staff very attentive.
Room facilities very good and close to reception but stairs quite steep and only a single bannister rail.
4.3
Lovely comfortable hotel with nice decor. The choice at breakfast seemed a little limited at first sight but it was freshly prepared and the quality was excellent. The staff were very helpful it meeting guests needs. Dinner was also very good
Our room was rather hot even though it was April and the central heating was turned off. When we opened the window there was a surprising amount of traffic noise. This would not be an issue at the back of the hotel.

Not much at all
4.3
The hotel facility is lovely, well appointed and clean and comfortable. The food was a particular highlight over the two nights we ate there. The compact menu offers an interesting range of dishes that were expertly prepared and well presented too.
The staff were quite young which can often mean a lack of skill and experience. However they were engaging, very attentive and polite so had clearly been recruited well and trained.
Overall, a we had two very comfortable and enjoyable nights at the Hartnoll.
Nothing, the stay was excellent.

beautiful location, capillary fault.
the food was expensive for what it was, which was standard. but what you would expect from a hotel of this statute. very disappointing.

Clean, food was excellent, staff were fabulous.
Bed not very comfortable, my personal experience, it was too hard.

Knocking pipes in room on heating

Heating noise outside window

Excellent food and attentive staff
The hotel and room was very hot. It would have been nicer to have a dressing table with mirror.

The receptionist was very welcoming, helpful and polite. The waitress understood the awkwardness of dining alone, she was perfect, the food was as divine as I had hoped for (also a massive foodie!) and after a long day it was the best place to stay.
The idiots in the dining room chatting crap and being proper stuck up toffs. Nothing to do with Hartnoll excellence.
