The pub restaurant had a nice cosy atmosphere and the evening meal was good. Nice friendly staff.
We paid £100 for a Superior room. After our evening meal we returned to the room at around 8pm. The room was very cold as was the radiator. Husband went to the bar and was told that it was on a timer but that it would be boosted for an hour for us. We were also lent an oil filled radiator which was faulty, the light came on but it failed to heat ! We know how these work so it was not our error. So we had to load the bed with spare coats to keep warm. The bed was OK but the mattress topper was too small for the mattress! We selected this hotel with regards to the large double beds on offer. Also , if you pay £100 for a superior room do you expect one of the prints on the wall to be hanging diagonally out of the frame ? So after a cold night we went to breakfast (where that room was also freezing) to be informed that the breakfast was not served until 8 am. But we had pre-booked an earlier breakfast time as we were attending an antique fair nearby. The young lady in the kitchen was helpful and rushed our breakfast through. We had also pre-selected coffee for breakfast but were given no choice of coffee even though there is a coffee machine in the bar. I sent my husband's back while he moved the car closer and asked for an espresso for him as I knew he wouldn't want the mug of watery bitter coffee. I couldn't drink mine and asked for a glass of water. Overall we feel that our experience was far from 'Superior'

The Location was ok, not as close to Shepton Mallet as though but what it lacked in location it made up for in everything else, comfort, service, food and an excellent breakfast,
despite the location we would stay again
Location could of been better

Spotlessly clean. Quality bedlinen. Great breakfast. Gorgeous location and friendly staff. Felt very safe as a solo traveller too.
The only reason I didn’t give a 10 was it needed a bit more noise insulation from the corridor … but otherwise it was perfect.

It was clean, spacious and in a lovely location. The staff were amazing! Very friendly and welcoming.
It’s not that I didn’t like it but maybe in the morning at breakfast time there could be some music playing as it was very quiet.

Very friendly staff. Very helpful, excellent evening meal and breakfast.
Bathroom walls cracked plaster. Black mould on bathroom blind . It was clean though.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location was central and easy access to nearby Shepton Mallet.
The bed had very prominent springs which was quite uncomfortable, a memory foam topper would be ideal to make it more comfy.

Lovely little inn with friendly people, great food and a beautiful room. I would definetly recommend a stay here. Thank you for making my stay so easy and relaxed. Hope to visit again when in the area.
Nothing. Everything was great.

Wayne is the Host with the Most. Lovely room, cosy bar (with sofas by open fire), great restaurant (good choice). Great breakfast menu with a few choices of poached eggs on avocado, the full English, scambled eggs etc, all very delicious. After spending a cold February day at the Showground (12 mins drive) the hot bath (Room 1) was pure luxury!
Wayne and his team are very attentive and if anything is not quite right, they put it right immediately. With a smile. Definitely will stay again.
nothing.

Would definitely stay there again, all the staff were really friendly and helpful. Fully recommend the salmon and poached eggs for breakfast. Really nice to find a well supported hub of the village pub
No hot water left on the first day of stay

nice old pub, stylish renovation, busy restaurant, lovely log burners in lounge and restaurant areas. Excellent local and guest beers at the bar.
staff were very helpful resolving small issues promptly, such as providing extra lamp and heater. the spacious room felt a little under furnished with only one chair and no coffee table but we were able to get a second armchair and then very comfortable.

The staff were all amazing, very friendly and hospitable. The bedroom was a good size. Bedding linen was crisp and clean and towels laid out were great. Loved the "reloved" feel of all the furniture. The general atmosphere was lovely - good country pub feel and who doesn't love a burning log fire!
Lighting in the bedroom was limited and what there was was muted making the room very dark. No bedside tables so had nowhere to put things.
Limited food menu which didn't live up to expectations. There was nothing wrong with the food at all, just "pub grub". I'd not visit purely for the food!

Staff are lovely, very friendly inn with comfortable beds and clean. Food was terrific, we have stayed before and continue to go back. The evening meal and breakfast were very very good, a definite step up from normal pub grub.

Lovely breakfast, freshly cooked with quality produce, staff really welcoming and helpful.
We ate in the restaurant each night and both of us were enjoyed our meals, the veggie curry was par excellence!
The room was adequate in size, lovely and clean, bed super comfy, lovely sleep, the shower in the bathroom was brilliant, easy temperature control and really good water pressure, We enjoyed our stay.
Only thing I would nit pick is maybe an upgrade on the loo roll would be good!

Lovely, tastefully decorated rooms. Wonderfully friendly staff.
Only downside was the noise from the road but that's can't be helped.
