Location was central
Arrived just before the end of their advertised reception hours but no reception staff. We were let into the foyer by other guests but the multiple attempts to phone the after hours number just rang out and messages were unanswered. After 40 minutes of waiting we gave up as had a child who was needing a bed after flying in from the East of the country and no idea of how long we would have to wait, so found another hotel. Emperors Crown only agreed (by message the next day) to refund 1 of the 3 nights and still no sign of that, but still worth leaving as didn’t feel very safe to stay or secure to leave belongings while sightseeing.

Double Room
Toilets shitter not enough toilets in hostel.

Freshly painted room, new and comfy mattresses. Spacious room for 4 bed dorm. En suite in the room. Easy check in. Easy to find Hostel. Room was clean and had huge lockers but only 2 in a dorm of 4.
Quite a walk from the centre so not ideal if you want central location. Very old and worn looking lobby and reception. A lot of older adult staying as if they live there

There is not much to like about this place. The location is good, everything is in walking distance and a connection to the airport is close. The kitchen is big and there is a lot of space. But that's the only good thing to say about this place.
The doorlocks of the rooms are broken and the door needs to be forced close. The beds are unstable and the top bed wiggles if the person on the bottom moves. There are lockers but they fall apart and they do not seem very secure. The amenities are dirty and it seems like they don't get cleaned too often.
In general it seemed more like a place where people stay long term and especially as a female solo traveller it isn't comfortable staying there.

helpful personell, cheap washing machine and dryer, hallway was cleaned after a while, free washing powder
very smelly and dirty on arrival, some of the clientel, street is central but a bit sketchy

extremely friendly and helpful desk staff.
noisy room (from outside), no utensils in kitchen unless you paid a deposit, bathroom out of action, blinking light on heat pump in room all night.

perfect location 5 minutes form the train station 5 minutes from the museums and 10 minutes from the river. The room is big enough. The receptionist guy who was working in the afternoon was very professional, did an excellent job. He was, helpful and he knows everything about Perth. He helped me a lot, and thanks to his professional work if I come back I`ll stay here next time
The young receptionist working at the reception in the afternoon was very arrogant and not helpful at all. It is good that he is working there just for the summer and goes back to England, because he did a really bad job. He is a very bad example of the hotel business. He payed more attention on his telephone then on the guests. He was my worst experience in Australia.
In 2 nights, I had 3 small cockroaches in the room and 1 big. The room was not really clean.

The staff were great and the location is great (close proximity to Perth centre). That is where the positives stop.
I stayed there 5 years ago and it was great then. However, it feels like nothing has been done to improve and stay at that same level since. The rooms are old and tired, the bed are creaky and unstable. The common areas are very tired and in need of a uplift.

Location is quite central.
The place is very dirty and smells of boose and dirty residents.
This is not really a hostel. Its more like a place for all the Aussie homeless and alcoholics to stay, because they cant afford or are not allowed in a proper hostel. People were drinking at 9AM in the morning, everyday.
Avoid this place if you are a backpacker and are looking to meet fellow travellers.
2.0
close to city and station
lack of tea and coffee facilities,no air conditioning, smelly, insects and flys and cockroaches throughout the room and no hot water on first night

I don't want to tell what happened to me but if someone wants to get sick go to that place
the staff treat you like you are a dog and are hardly ever there, the whole place is not australian really awful. also be careful when you sign the contract at the beginning because they did it with me before assigning me a room that was not mine and when I replied they said you can leave, second day I go found my bed occupied telling me they thought I had left and this happened not only with me but also with a friend of mine

The staff helps you if they can. You can also store some things in a safe room for a while after or checkout or before checkin.
Bikes can be stored inside.
It smelled everywhere - in the floor, the toilets, even the rooms and the fridge.
The showers were really dirty and broken.
ACs worked but also were partially broken.
Kitchen was closed after 9.30pm so you have to eat before that.

Very friendly staff and great location. The bed and bathroom was very nice and clean.
Unfortunately the aircon in our room wasnt working and the fridge in the room was having small hygine issues.
