Staff were welcoming, food was great, no pretension here just a clean, well run pub/hotel
Car park was madness so we parked on the road up behind the hotel. That worked well.

Excellent location. Good breakfast
Hard to find fault

Staff are very welcoming and helpful.
Good selection for breakfast. Vegetarian included. Restaurant clean and well maintained. Booked a time for breakfast so no loitering outside waiting for a table.
Enjoyed an excellent evening meal which was well presented. The bar has a very good selection of beers, an adjoining games room with entertainment for everyone.
Room clean, tidy with excellent selection of tea, coffee and biscuits. Bath with shower and plenty of hot water. Good selection of complimentary toiletries.
Happy with our location, overlooking the high street, road noise acceptable which never kept us awake.
Parking bit of an issue, but given hotel location I don’t think much could be done about that.

Stayed here many times. Love the ‘hikers’ feel of the place. Comfortable & welcoming. Staff friendly as always.
Some noisy blokes in the bunkhouse but hey ho. Sounded like they were having fun !

The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of town close to shops and lots of place to eat. Also it is dog friendly and we never holiday without our dogs.
Nothing, it was all good

Excellent location, walking distance from the village centre and train station.
Good choice of breakfast, hot and cold. Quick service and staff very friendly.
The communal areas were cozy and comfortable, dinner and bar service quick.
We travelled with a dog and everyone was very accommodating. We felt very welcomed (I’m sure Kolby, the dog, also felt very happy with the treats and patting)
More attention should have been given to the cleaning of the room - it was clean and tidy but we’ve found a few itens in the room that didn’t belong to us. Minor things, like a packet of tissues, but still…

Food, breakfast & evening meals were very good.
Meals were very good in both quality & quantity, and the pricing was about right.
No facility for EV charging. Not even a 13a exterior socket to charge from.
Limited car parking.
Lock broken on en suite door.
Strike plate missing off same door.
TV reception poor (mainly 4 basic channels) & pixilated often.
Shower tray - water very slow in draining away.
Only one chair in the room, one of us had to sit on the bed.

Great location and good value. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout from check in, to the bar and in dining room.
Fairly basic but accommodation was fine.
Nice beers in bar, we ate in the bar/lounge and menu had good choice and was very reasonable. Food was good.
A mug of tea in the room in the morning would have been nice - there was a kettle and some teabags etc., but the tiniest of teacups and there was no milk. Also no glasses for water.

Terrible. It advertised as a lovely hotel. There was no room choice option. On arrival, lady was nice however we were walking outside the building through the car park, up some prison like stairs and through to a prison like shared kitchen and toilets which then went up to a few steps into our “room” which I cannot even call a room. It was worse than a prison cell. Yes I’ve seen prison. It was filth. Two tiny brown shelves. A bunk bed! Which had springs out piercing from my backside out my eyeballs. That’s how massive those springs were. No cupboard. No we’re or space to put any luggage. Just about placed our bags on the floor taking up more “space” hence not being able to even breath.
The walls were so fine so thin. I could hear breathing from across the hallway. Everything was audible. From voices to doors closing to peoples farts.
This was NOT OK! Nothing as advertised. Again no selection for any rooms. We went to the lady at the desk and said we’re severely disgusted and disappointed. She said there’s nothing they can do because it’s a bunkhouse. We said we did not select that horrible thing as we wouldn’t have even stayed there for free or even be paid thousands to stay there. We traveled over 5 hours for this. Just to be so disappointed.
We asked if we could upgrade. She said only for one night due to it being booked out when we paid for two nights.
She said she couldn’t do anything.
We called booking.con who said they cannot do anything either. This is totally unacceptable and the worst ever thing known to mankind.
Do NOT book this place!
I expect a refund as we did not stay there, we walked out and paid for another hotel else where and drove a further 45 mins away. Left the key and had finally breathed.
Oh yeah! Let me not forget about the poo in the toilet! There’s a shared toilet. Also fyi not in the prison box, obviously. Hence I say it’s worse than prison. At least prisoners get their own toilet!
Was there anything to like?

The food was good and reasonably priced. Location excellent, staff very friendly
The property was dated and needed decorating badly. Room had flaking paint and stains over the walls. The decor was poor and the price we paid did not reflect what we got. Would not return for this reason

The staff were good and I enjoyed chatting to them. Breakfast and dinner service was quick.
Car parking is tight but I know this from previous stays. The chair in my room had a dodgy leg that needs repair. I mentioned this to the staff on the desk as I checked out.

The location was bang in the middle of the village.
The quality of the breakfast was low. Cheap bread and low quality sausage and bacon as well as poor quality coffee.

The room was very dated the shower didn't work properly it kept going of then would come back on with scalding water or just stop altogether it reminded me of a pontius chalet

Loved the building the little spa and how helpful the lady at check in was. Loved being able to take the dogs. We walked cadair idris on check in day so this place was ideal to stop rest and recover ready for snowdon the next day.
There was a drying room which we really needed to use. Our gear was soaking after the climb. We asked for help to get the heater on and the staff gave us instructions what to do. Instructions didn't work so staff member came to help. Staff member reassured us the heater would come on and would be working overnight. We went to collect our gear next morning and everything was still soaking. As you can imagine this was a nightmare when we needed our gear to do snowdon. It meant we had to go buy more stuff (thank god a climbing shop was 2 seconds away).
This facility working is a MUST for climbers/walkers. It really put a negative impression on the place because we asked and asked for this to make sure we could dry our stuff. No staff member on reception the next day to tell. So this was the only let down- don't let it put you off but keep an eye on it as it really did throw a spanner in the works for us.
Also mattresses was springy you could feel the springs which is a big no after your aching from a walk.

Good location and close proximity to Mount Snowdon. Nice games room with a pool table and darts board, nice bar.
Booked this property with the main intention of using the spa facilities, which you have to pay extra for, which doesn’t state online. When we arrived it was closed and the next day when we asked to book they said it’s unavailable as they are draining it out.

Woman on Reception was really lovely and helpful, spa room for only £5 per person which was amazing. such a nice atmosphere in the restaurant seems very friendly.
rooms were really small all though that isn’t a problem and didn’t really effect the trip. shared facilities where ok but the woman’s toilets were wet everywhere.

great location, friendly staff
breakfast wasn’t available before 8am which was a bit late for those heading out into the hills early am.
