great location, walk to town through university gardens. Lovely little apartment, cosy and cute. A gem.
Central heating heats bedrooms upstairs to way hot, downstairs still cold. No insulation. Didn't like old electric stove.

We stayed in the gardeners cottage .It was lovely set out to period with all the mod cons you need .The garden is amazing and it is about a 15 min walk and your in the centre of Hobart ,hilly walk but didn’t bother us .I can’t talk this place up enough ,for a couple it was the perfect self contained unit .
Didn’t worry us but if you have a problem with stairs it has a spiral staircase that might be trouble for some .Lucky they have other options 😀

Great location. Beautiful historic mansion in close proximity to the city. It was like stepping back in time. The staff are very friendly, accomodating - great breakfast as well

The decor is absolutely stunning. The staff were so friendly. The breakfast was tasty.
It is a very old building so just be prepared to hear every creek if the wind picks up outside.

Our stay in the Gardeners Cottage was absolutely perfect. As soon as we arrived, it really had the 'wow factor'. It really felt like we had stepped back in time, yet the facilities were absolutely up to today's standard and had really beautiful styling. We loved wandering through the amazing gardens and just looking at the main house was mesmerising. Our stay finished on a high with enjoying a sensational breakfast at the house. Small details like linen napkins and beautiful plates make all the difference for a stand out meal and experience, not to mention the food.....flaky warm croissants and delicious scrambled eggs, yes please! Would 100% stay here again in the future, thank you for having us.
Only one little thing, it would have been good to have a fitted sheet on our bed and we woke up both mornings and the sheet had come out and we were lying on the mattress protector.

wonderful historical feeling hotel. small but stylish rooms. fantastic service. lovely main living area with bar.
rooms were on the smaller side. location is away from the heart of Hobart, but this adds to the serenity.

Loved the house. It is so charming and full of character. The beds were super comfortable and I slept really well. The owners and the manager were really nice to talk to and while they really respected our space, they were there to answer all our questions.
I liked everything from the room to the view to the honesty bar.

The front door of the Coach House was tricky to
open.

great history and now owned and run by the great grandson of the original owner
very comfortable bed and lovely ensuite. Found it by accident but we’ll be back when ever in Hobart

Really wonderful heritage bed and breakfast, steeped in history in all corners, with lots of well-maintained paraphernalia including in rooms. Lovely host, and very comfortable but scenic rooms. Great gardens and drawing room with drinks available too, plus a lovely location within walking distance of the city, in a beautiful old suburb of Hobart
Probably not enough space for suitcases in the Basil Crisp rooom and breakfast a tad expensive

Step back in time and enjoy old world charm. Wonderful hospitality...comfy beds with lovely linen. Attention to detail. Delicious home cooked breakfast. The most beautiful gardens. And only a short walk and you're in the centre of Hobart. Have stayed here before and will definitely again.

Superb ambience. Gardens were amazing, location is so convenient, everything in town was walkable. Friendly staff who were very happy to accomodate an extra night and hold our baggage on the last day. Can’t recommend enough! Beautiful.

The entire site feels like a trip into a fairytale. The grounds are immaculate, the breakfast is beyond compare, and the staff are incredible! The Gardener's Cottage is perfectly vintage with hidden modern comforts.
Everything was spectacular! Not a single issue!
