heritage hotel with so much charm

4.5
Great room which was really clean and comfortable
Location of the room was a bit strange - part of an annexe?

Location was great, really nice breakfast every morning, nice to stay in an old style building but very comfortable

The Macquarie Hobart was a great place to take the family and to just walk up stairs for a great breakfast included in ur stay.

Parking space availability is limited.

Great location, very comfortable rooms and the staff were fantastic and very accommodating.
Nothing, all great.

Well situated for CBD or Salamanca food/market area. Helpful, friendly staff. Beautifully decorated in period style. Car parking on site.

My room was exceptional! I had a little seating area with two sofas where I could comfortably watch TV with my cup of tea, a massive & very comfortable bed & the cleanest little bathroom.
Parking space was great & they let me leave the car for a few hours after my check out so that I could explore on foot for a little while which I really appreciated.
Breakfast was a lovely continental style spread with something for everyone, everything was fresh & well replenished when needed.
Location wise was great, within walking distance to so much & very easy to find from the airport.
I left my phone charger behind in my room & the girls were lovely, even posting it back to me within a few days.
I genuinely couldn't find a fault with the hotel in any manner. The only downside for me personally was that I was on such a flying visit that I only got to stay one night!
5.0
Period style. Not the sanitised chain style that is convenient but boring, this place has character. Staff we lively and couldn’t be more pleasant and helpful
The only minor criticism was perhaps an upgrade of pillows

De ligging was ideaal, vlak bij de Salamanca Market, en het winkelcentrum rond Elisabeth Street.
Betaald parkeren (20 AUD) per dag

Location and size of the room was amazing such an amazing building and history behind it
The breakfast was very disappointing, especially there was no gluten free options other a little pot of yogurt and a spoonful of stewed berries and to have to pay $5 for a coffee was terrible
4.0
The room was comfortable and very clean
The bed was a little firm

Friendly staff, great room & breakfast
3.0
Old style of the hotel. Is a national heritage listed building. Main building areas had been renovated (new/old style). Main bed was cumfy, linen clean.
Beds were old (one was wooden slats on a very old bed frame, carpet was old, curtains great but dust covered. Breakfast was very limited, parking was extra though stated as included. Very over priced even with 40% discount.
5.0
It is an older building so had interesting features. I stayed on two occasions and both rooms were large. I loved the older feel of the place.
The staff were exceptionally helpful and the breakfast was great.
Nothing!

Central CBD location. Close to Salamanca market and harbor. Restored building.
Bathroom was tired. No window in my room. Sofa was dirty.
4.5
Great location. The breakfast was perfect continental spread.
We didn’t realise our room was internal when booking. It was still a very nice room but would have been good to know, there was technically a window which went out into the hallway.

Staff were great. Location was great.
Hot water took a long time. Wifi went out in the evening and there was no staff to communicate with.

Staff was excellent and kind! I stayed here before and after my hike on the Three Capes Track, Easy to walk to everything in Hobart. Bed was very comfortable, and they even did my laundry complimentary after the hike. Would definitely recommend!
Not really a dislike, but more of a reminding. It is clearly stated if you arrive after hours, you will need a safe code (sent by email/booking) to get your key. I had dropped my phone in the sea, and it would not turn on. Just make sure you have access to your phone if you arrive late.
3.5
minimal “continental” style. pay for espresso coffee drinks
should have notes in listing that a lot of stairs were involved. My partner has some difficulty walking and we had to carry large bags upstairs-there was no staff either at check in or check out to help.
4.5
Central location; Large rooms ; Continental breakfast included
The hotel should modernize the door locks so that they are opened with a plastic card which is disposable. I forgot to hand my key in and it cost AUS$30 to send it back. If there was a card system in existence, I wouldn't have needed to.

Central to the city, lovely period decor, spacious room, comfortable bed, breakfast buffet was amazing!!
The parking situation - advertised as free parking (if you want to park on the busy street & only free on weekends) or $20 if you want off street, reserved
4.5
great location, comfortable, friendly staff
all good
4.5
All excellent with a choice of buffet and different teas.
Loved the china
Nice rooms to relax in with good furniture
Bed was comfortable and a good walk in shower
Being in such a busy and having to pay for parking
3.5
Breakfast was good quality and clean and fresh, room was large and comfortable and we were very happy with how clean the room and bathroom were. Location was excellent and we could walk just about everywhere.
The shower took quite a while to heat up but once it did it was very good. Having parking included would have been a bonus.
4.5
Most things -- girls gave friendly good advice when we asked
Breakfast could be a bit improved. We stayed 6 nights and it became a bit boring , though it was still adequate.
4.0
The room was lovely and big with a nice lounge area. Location was walking distance to everything in the CBD and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast situated in a lovely setting.
There is nothing I can think of as it met our expectations
3.5
Good location for Salamanca but street was very busy and a bit noisy.
Heritage details and breakfast were nice
Shower took forever to heat up and one wall to the room was all glass with a curtain so felt a bit odd and makeshift.
5.0
Very personalised and practical. Excellent communication and general setup. Lovely common areas -- really well renovated and deconrated. I also like the convenience of a microwave for guest use in the lounge, plus umbrellas to borrow. Makes travelling so much easier.
Nothing.

The accommodation was well located within walking distance to restaurants, the docks and the market. Continental breakfast was provided. The rooms were comfortable and generous in size and was well equipped. Parking was providing but at a cost.
We were provided a family suite with 2 bedrooms but the only bathroom was attached to one of the bedrooms. To use the bathroom/toilet you had to enter the other bedroom. The room was located below street level with 2 flights of steps. No lift in this building. Challenging for my aged mother who has limited mobility.
4.5
Lovely breakfast, staff were most helpful. Good to have 2 extra toilets in the hall as we were 5 ladies in the room with one toilet.
Not enough hooks to hang your bath towels up, also could do with another small cupboard or table in the bathroom as there was not enough space to put our toiletries etc.,
4.0
Lovely big room. Beautiful high ceilings nice breakfast
Friendly staff
Hard to close the curtains for privacy. Need a better system. Need nice choice of tea and coffee in our room in a hotel like this.
Better choice of cut fruit for breakfast.
4.5
Staff very helpful and a easy place to stay, good walk to all some nice restaurants close by, lovely building.
Parking not the best especially when you have a early start 3am and a guest just leaves you 2inches to manoeuvre your car past theirs, 6 parking place’s only so booking is essential. Was nearly ready to ring late night emergency phone number but was able to get out after a last try.
4.5
Beautiful decor in all entrance ways and loved the period features.
The room was clean and comfortable.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Breakfast was really nice.
The small shower.
3.5
Loved the funky decor in the common areas (reception, dining and lounge). Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It was in a great location just a short walk from Battery Point. Beds were comfortable and rooms were very clean.
Would have loved that funky to extend to the rooms.

Characterful historic house in central Hobart with an excellent room and a nice breakfast
3.0
Friendly and helpful staff on arrival. We were surprised they then disappeared at 5pm and it became a ghost hotel. Room was large but we had paid for a ‘suite’ so this was expected. Bathroom was fine except no body wash provided. Location is fairly central (10 minutes at most to the quays) and some good Asian cafes nearby for a less formal meal - we enjoyed Sawak (Malaysian).
We found the decor quite gloomy and the furniture was old and worn in the room - not in the sense of old and antique though. Breakfast was a bit of a let-down especially the charge of $5 for a cup of coffee! We were also most disappointed that the room was not cleaned. By the time we realised the staff had left for the day…
5.0
What a room! More like a studio with lounge and desk area. Wonderful old world charm. Nice breakfast included. Lovely heritage building with a beautiful historic charm. Reasonable walking distance to Constitution Dock and other attractions. Made me feel very special and excellent value
Nothing comes to mind
