Breakfast was a bit minimal for the price but understanding being a Monday, not complaining though.

Room was little small for the price you payed.

Great value for money. Position perfect to walk into Braddon for breakfast, coffees. Markets in park close by were an unexpected surprise over the weekend. Beds were super comfy with soft linen and bathrooms seemed newly renovated. Lots of bathroom amenities. Helpful staff especially the security/parking guard.
Parking was great but there was an event during the day which made it impossible to park anywhere nearby. Would be good to keep parking for staying guests. A bottle of water in the fridge would have been a nice touch.

My room was very comfortable and very clean.
Would have like a better entrance to the undercover carpark and a lift from this carpark. Outside parking was not suitable for me as I was a single woman with no help to get my bags to reception. Also I would not have wanted to walk from my car at night.

Great room size and room service!
A kitchenette would have been great.

Room was neat and tidy as always. Staff are always helpful and friendly.
Breakfast menu could be better with a bit more variety or ore options.

Great room very spacious clean great rooftop bar
Sound proofing between rooms when next door having a party

Room location, modern look, facilities
Narrow hallways. Could easily hear what’s happening on the other side of the door

I liked the friendly staff at the desk, cleaning, the help that was sent to us when we have TV difficulty and breakfast staff also was very lovely and friendly. Very helpful and most importantly genuine. I like the fact that there is a stream room in our suite, which was one of the reasons we want to book that particular room. Love the huge shower and quality if the shower heads.
Our of the 2 TV in our room, one of the TV's cable slots wasn't working and also have dry paint on the USB cable from the TV, so my wife and I had to share the TV with our little one. The stream room I had in mind was the usual wooden strips look, rather than a stream hole in the shower. The bench in the shower can also be replace with something sturdier will be nice. Breakfast room was a "WOW" when we walked in, but the lack of food choice was a bit disappointing for the price.

Room was a cool refuge from the heat, very clean, comfortable, handy location. Staff very friendly and helpful.
no issues at all

Has everything I need
I’ll prefer to have a deadlock for at night.

Room was small but clean
The hotel charges an additional $150 on arrival even though the room had already been fully paid for. They claim that this is to cover any additional charges that may arise during the (overnight) stay. As a result I determined that I would NOT use any of the hotel's facilities. The $150 is only refunded a week after check out. I feel that this hotel does not trust its guests. I took the issue up with the staff and just got a blank look in return. I travel to Canberra regularly and thought that I would try the Rex for a change. Never again.

Location
Noisy!! Every single door closing was loud and no soundproofing on our level

Good location. Was clean and the staff were friendly.
Could’ve had porter for bringing the luggages. We had to load the cart with all our luggages and pull it to our room.

the hotel was very fancy! super warm and a very inviting reception area. and it smelled great! the Spa suite was perfect for us (a couple)
we purchased a bottle of wine from the kiosk and didn’t realise until we got back to our room we needed a bottle opener to open it. we thought this was a little impractical

I travel to Canberra once a month and haven’t stayed at the Rex for over 5 years and all that I can say is WOW. What they have done with this place is unbelievable, new carpet, big rooms, comfortable king bed ( yes that’s right comfortable beds and pillows which is very hard to find these days ), the pleasant smells, bathroom massive and so much more to mention but if you haven’t yet stayed here I recommend that you do
Nothing to fault with this place at all

Being acknowledged for our 25th wedding anniversary
I slipped in spa in room and have a big bruise on my leg. I do think there needs to be a sign saying slippery in tub as it's like ice

The staff were friendly at check-in and especially at the 5th-floor bar.
The shower had great pressure.
Yep, that's about it.
Parking is on a first-come-first-served basis and is not undercover. I arrived with my elderly, disabled father in the rain, parked around the back of the building (one spot left) and found there was no entrance besides the front door. The person at check-in failed to mention this.
The beds were too hard and resulted in back pain. Having cereal for breakfast will cost you $15. There is nothing nearby. You need to walk 700 metres to Lonsdale Street, or you can take the light rail across the road to restaurants, cafes, supermarkets etc.
Very disappointing for the price you pay.

the spa was enormous and so was the 2 person shower!!
the lifts were a little annoying. having to swab a tag to access floors but I’m guessing that wouid be for security reasons. and to be picky, our room (the spa room) needed a full length mirror in the bedroom instead of just waist height in the bathroom.

We booked at the last minute and got a great room.
The staff were super friendly, and even the security guy went out of his way to find us a carpark.
My only criticism was that a couple of the pieces of furniture in the room were a bit marked and dated. So not really much criticism at all
