The grounds were amazing. Food was excellent and staff attentive but not overpowering
Nothing!

Exceptional facilities, service and attention to detail. The staff were incredibly helpful, polite and hospitable. Immaculate grounds and so much to see and experience within the local area made for the perfect stay.
The stay wasn’t long enough. They could benefit from an on-site spa.

Perfect & lots of choice all served to you

The location of this hotel is completely stunning and we enjoyed walking around the immediate grounds. We were given a complimentary room upgrade which was lovely as we travelled with another couple and were celebrating a birthday. The way the staff greet you upon arrival was fabulous and we constantly felt staff were around if we needed them but they didn't intrude. Our rooms were gorgeous and enhanced by the lovely fresh flowers. The dining room was beautiful and the food and drink delicious. We had a special time.
It is hard to think of anything we didn't like. If I'm nit picking, the fact that we'd said in advance that two of our group were pescatarian was forgotten about several times which was disappointing when one was the birthday boy.

Dining (breakfast & dinner) exceptional, staff from arrival to departure were friendly and managed every need quickly and efficiently. Castle itself and grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Wide variety of activities were available, but all for additional costs.
Decor of room a little underwhelming considering the very significant cost per night. Rain shower handle was loose and didn't provide hot water. Felt a little more like a good 3 star room/basic 4 star than a 5 star. The beds were comfortable but no choice of mattress or pillow which was a little surprising for this price level.

The hotel and grounds were fabulous Food was first class and staff were exceptional. Public areas were beautifully presented and our room was big and furnished with beautiful antiques.
The pillows were slightly firmer than I would have liked.

Great breakfast
Wine list is extensive but unfortunately the cellar isn't. Made a number of wine and drinks choices, which were not available.

loved the location and rooms fantastic. gardens lovely and idea for a leisurely day around the castle. free tea and coffee around the castle
I appreciate staffing difficult during covid but producing a daily menu that’s out of date is not acceptable. certain food items not available and local Ailsa Bay whisky listed but not available! senior staff lacking on shop floor.

Great character location, excellent service from the staff..
Evening meal arrangements not up to standard, pre dinner drinks venue too small and had to wait for dinner on the first night longer than anticipated

Beautiful old castle with thoughtful renovation and excellent facilities. The gardens were outstanding. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent dinner. Good Covid awareness and sanitisers.
Our room on the lower ground floor was under the drawing room and we heard people moving around rather early.
