Nice little cottage to stay for visiting the district

Great first night of holiday

Would have preferred an en-suite room but only shared with one other couple and there was a separate toilet

Very welcoming B&B

We arrived soaking wet and were welcomed with a hot bath and a pot of tea. They hung out our wet clothes and shoes so they could dry. We were very kindly helped with everything we needed to recover and plan our next steps.

By a distance the finest B&B I have stayed in, anywhere!

A perfect B&B with a helpful and friendly host in Sue, on arrival she asked me what I would like for breakfast so clearly she had me figured out :-) Locally sourced toiletries in the bathroom (bathrobe provided which was a nice touch), spacious and perfectly clean throughout, the afforementioned breakfast using local produce and of course close to the lakes and the sea. I'd be proud to recommend Armidale to anyone staying in the area and will visit again with pleasure

Very good

Sue and Fred were nice.The house was lovely. We had to share a bathroom., which was ok, but not ideal. Lovely breakfast,s. Beautiful gardens.

It was on a main road. Nothing of interest in local area. Would not go back as I have a bad back and beds were to soft. Overall was ok.

Very nice but probably wouldn't stay again.

Very nice place Owner's very accommodating Beds very comfy Very clean Loverly setting & gardens. You will be fussed over.

Shared bathroom and there was no stand up shower in the shared bathroom. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room were not replaced each day, we had to ask for more and the cups were not washed after we had used them. Husband is tall 6'5" and kept banging his head on all the low beams & doorways.

Ideal location for the coast to coast cycle path. Sue and Fred were excellent hosts and made me feel very welcome. Room was very comfortable and the breakfast set me up nicely for the 60miles of cycling I had to look forward to. Will definitely book again for future C2C trips.

Perfect!

Sue and Fred are absolutely lovely and really nice people. I very much enjoyed staying with them, they were very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and helpful people and the breakfasts are great as well as the room and favourites, can't recommend them enough! :-)

I booked this last minute , and was delighted with ALL aspects of the stay . The house is gorgeous , the hosts were great and I’ll definitely be back . The breakfast was to die for .

Brilliant, friendly hosts and a lovely property, would highly recommend.

I stayed at Armidale while visiting family nearby. Sue and Fred were fantastic hosts, they really made me feel welcome and looked after. The breakfast was cooked to order and really set me up nicely for the day :-) My room was lovely and the B&B in general has a very warm and friendly atmosphere. I would definitely stay with them again.

The only downside for me was the shared bathroom but it wasn't a problem as I was the only guest when I stayed. Also would be nice to have a separate shower (the shower is part of the freestanding bath).

Beautifully updated old cottages with friendly hosts

Very comfortable bedroom and an excellent breakfast. Beautiful setting in a quiet location, Armidale Cottages date back to the 17th century and have been tastefully and carefully updated. Sue and Fred our hosts were very friendly and Sue went out of her way to make sure we were happy and comfortable.

The shower was a learning exercise, although the bathroom was very well appointed and we had it to ourselves.

Maybe a full bed sheet? (Instead of two single ones) But that’s me being really really picky!! They where fantastic hosts with everything we needed!

Ultimately, if I was asked if I would stay here again the answer would be a definite "Yes". Ta, Sue.

Sue was very friendly, and eager to help. I had a the ubiquitous "full English" breakfast and this kept me full for most of the day. This house is well kept, tidy and is a mix of German and English in influence that work well together. The bedroom had plenty of space and the bed was comfortable. There was the expected tea/coffee making equipment: unexpectedly, however, the coffee wasn't a sachet of the instant variety, but a pod machine. There was also a choice of Earl Grey, breakfast and green teas.

"What didn't you like?" isn't the best choice of question to answer as there wasn't anything I didn't like. I do have to mention that the room wasn't "en suite" but shared a bathroom, something I didn't notice when booking so some responsibility is mine there. I was, however, warned to sit down for a shower least the water go over the bath and went through into the room below. Also the bedroom doesn't have a lock on the door, just an Essex Latch: this wasn't a concern for me, but might be for others.

Cosy, clean, welcoming B&B. Comfortable bed. The breakfast was exceptionally good.

Although I was the only guest at the time of my visit, so it wasn't an issue for me, but I can see how the shared bathroom can be a bit of a headache for some.
