The ease of self check in is so good. It’s also in a good location. About a two min walk to the Shambles. And it’s quiet on an evening

Our only complaint was that the bed in our room wasn’t very comfortable. I think a new mattress would solve that tho. Other than that I would 100% stay here again.

Enjoyable experience

Comfortable bed and clean room,bathroom. Close to the centre, has a nice bar and outside sitting area.

No fan in room and bedroom windows don't open was bit sure if there was a car park so paid extra in a car park closed by.

Great for a 1 night stay, great location easy to walk to everything.

It was a great location and easy to walk to!

The room was tiny, no fan or AC and window barely opened so it was pretty warm. There was hardly any space for our luggage, luckily we were only there 1 night.

Good location but facilities below standard

Location good and friendly staff. We did have a serious issue which staff tried to resolve during the stay (unsuccessfully)

No hot water for either washing of hands or showering in the room. This couldn't be resolved. Instead of being given a different room we were given access to a shower room accessed through a dirty storage area. Problem with a boiler that couldn't be repaired during our 2 night stay but we should have been relocated. We were refunded 50% of the bill, but would rather have been given a different room.

One man and his best friend.

Everying, literally, suited us perfectly, that is, me and Jake my wonderful little dog. Location, accomodation, lovely friendly, helpful, professional people

Too harsh to say, 'did'nt like.' The Beer Garden was outside our room, so, inevitably, there was a little noise, when we tried to settle down. But, it is an Inn and, a little disturbance was to be expected. It was not something to complain about.

Superb

Got what we paid for. A Nice cheap hotel, very clean , centrally located to fantastic staff.

Bed was a bit creaky but we did so much walking we just crashed

Great location and a good overall stay

Location is great for visiting the city. Free parking for such a central location is also a massive bonus. The room was basic and a little tired but for the price absolutely satisfactory. Spot on if you’re looking for a cheap and cheerful place to get your head down whilst visiting York. The staff that we met were all very friendly and helpful. Bar serves a good pint and the food looked nice, though we didn’t eat there during our stay. Would certainly stay again.

The mattresses on the single beds were a bit old and lumpy.

Lovely lady , lovely breakfasts x

Was ideal for York town . Room was clean and suited our needs . The breakfasts were lovely served by a lovely lady our only disappointment was we asked Saturday morning what time evening meals finished , we were told 9.30 , we came back from Whitby got changed and went down to have an evening meal at 8 to be told by a male staff member the kitchen was closed . We had to go out and source a meal where as we were tired was a pain . Other than this no problems

Great location, lovely staff.

The lady who greeted us was lovely. She took time to explain everything to us and show us the rooms. The location was great, very easy to reach the centre without driving/parking. We were given free parking at the Inn.

I would say the mattresses could just do with an upgrade, for comfort. But that's about it.

Very good value for money. Neat tidy room. Bed comfy. Nice to have an en suite at this price. Great location right on town, very nice historic building.

Pleasant

Rooms were good en we could parc the car at the Inn's parking. That's very nice in the middle of York! The Inn is very close to the centre of York.

The badroom wasn't very clean. There was mold in the shower tray. That's not fresh.

I slept like a log so bed was great It was close to central York and an easy walk with my case Room was small but all I needed

The power points were awkward to get at to plug in chargers etc

Cheap n cheerful

Location is excellent 👌. Good value for the money. Nothing too fancy but Nothing worth complaining about.

Coffee n Tea facilities not great , our milk was off . Rooms bit small.

Nice hotel in a very good location for the centre of the city

Very helpful staff

Being at the rear and overlooking the social drinking area it tended to be very noisy until after midnight, especially towards and including the weekends

Lost hot water one day. Plumbing makes a lot of noise. Some noise from the street that might bother you if you are a light sleeper

Great location let down by poor basic standards of cleanliness

The door lock worked

No fire evac plan on door the outside door didn’t have a lock just a hold in the wood Mould in shower, bleach stains on red sheet and dried mouse droppings , towels threadbare and room smells of wet dog , fan and kettle dirty , blinds didn’t close to cut out daylight

comfortable, quiet and a good place for short stays.

very close to central, quick 15 minute walk to the station. very pretty view at the back with the river. room was clean, staff was very helpful. basic amenities also available.

i had no hand soap in my room but it was okay for an overnight stay. wifi signal was spotty at times. the sink leaves little to be desired as there was still hair and a tear off of the sugar packet in it. room had no windows except for a skylight window which wouldn’t close

A short 4 night stay in a convenient area for the centre. Did the job.

Location was just right

Staff were unable to find a plug for the wash basin. The room was quite small for two people. Window blinds were dirty and it all felt a little grubby.

location was excellent. Only a short walk to the city centre and free car parking on site. The food was also beautiful. Plenty of outdoor seating. Staff are really friendly and helpful too.
