Overnight in Soutelo

The very quiet, remote rural location, with only the sound of a cockerel crowing at dawn. The swimming pool was a bonus, especially after a long 5-hour drive. Odete was a very welcoming hostess, with recommendations for restaurants in the vicinity. It's not too far from Coimbra, yet a world apart

It's a remote, mountain-top location, so you have to be prepared to drive some way to get to anywhere - but that's part of its charm

Amazing stay close to Coimbra

The facilities are clean and very cozy and Mrs. Odette is super kind and pleasant to be around! The location is perfect for people who want to stay in contact with nature and be close to the city at the same time! The breakfast is very good!! It is for sure a place to come back!

Fantastic host, great place to stay

Peaceful stay

Outstanding hospitality from Mrs. Odette, she is extremely nice and friendly, always trying to make sure the guests are comfortable. She even waited for us till late at night because she was not sure we will be able to get back into the property (as there is no key from the main door). The bedroom was very good and fresh, despite the high temperatures outside. The property is quiet and calm, all you can hear is silence and that is absolutely fabulous. The views are outstanding and the house is pretty close to Coimbra, Penacova and other interesting places. Breakfast has a lot of options too.

The only thing I can point out is the condition of the pool. It should definitely be cleaned; it is kind of weird to have to get into the pool by getting under the coverage meant to protect it from rain. The cover should be removed when the weather is good and when guests are around. Overall the outdoor space needs more care.
