About this house rental
Spend some time at our beautiful beach house overlooking Natural Bridges State Park. Hear the surf and see the ocean through the trees from the living room and the expansive deck. Drift into sleep listening to the waves from your bedroom. Walk down the block to the beach, build a sand castle, and play in the waves. Stroll down West Cliff and watch the surf crash against the cliffs. The house is also a short walk to Swift Street Courtyard, home to Kelly’s French Bakery, the Cellar Door Café, Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing, and multiple wine tasting rooms, including Bonny Doone, Copious Winery, and Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard. This newly remodeled beach house comes complete with flat panel TV's in the living room and separate kids' zone, Cable, DVD, and wireless Internet.
The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a sleeping loft. The upstairs living room has ample seating for enjoying the view, cozying up to the wood stove, or watching the flat screen TV. The spacious master bedroom is also upstairs, and overlooks the park. Two bedrooms and the 2nd bath are downstairs. The front downstairs bedroom is bright and sunny, with a queen bed. The downstairs back bedroom is very large (25x12). It has a queen bed, and a sitting area with another flat screen TV and a futon couch which folds out to a full size bed. The room also has a loft with two twin beds. It’s a perfect spot for a kids’ hang-out.
The house was completely renovated during the spring of 2011. The kitchen and both baths were stripped to the studs and remodeled, with all new appliances. All doors, carpets, and floors were replaced. Everything has been newly painted in 2020. The furnishings are also new, and the kitchen is fully stocked with plates, pans, utensils and serving pieces. We have a gas grill on the deck, and seating for 8. We added a patio in the back yard in 2012 with a fire pit that's perfect for roasting marsh mellows. The house is also equipped with wireless.
We have lots of toys as well: several adult size cruiser bikes in the garage, 4+ boogie boards, and 6 beach chairs, all for your use. Rental also includes bath towels, sheets, and beach towels (8). The kids will love making s’mores in the fire pit in the back yard. The boardwalk and downtown Santa Cruz are three miles away, an easy bike ride along West Cliff. The house is a perfect location for exploring Santa Cruz, Capitola and Aptos. Other great day-trips include the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the shops of Carmel. Come, relax and enjoy!

The layout of the house was perfect for our group. The deck and backyard provided extra places to hang out. The children loved the games and toys provided. The short walk to the beach gave us easy access to a lovely place for the children to play and the adults to appreciate the natural beauty of the area.

This house has it all. Natural Bridges beach across the street, bicycles and beach stuff in the garage, fire pit in the back yard, deck, grill, beautiful sunsets. A perfect base camp for all-day excursions. Also a perfect place if you just want to hang around the house. The host is very responsive and takes good care of the place. Could not ask for more.

Bruce was an amazing host we called him a few times with questions and he was super helpful and quick to respond. The house was beautiful and as advertised. Unrelated to the quality of our host, our toddler had a an accident and ended up needing to go to the emergency room by ambulance and the quality of nurses and doctors at Dominican Hospital was amazing they were super attentive and helpful. It’s comforting to know there is good medical care in the area. Highly recommend this rental, it’s in the perfect area and excellent quality.

This is a great place for families by Natural Bridges state park. Well maintained and cared for property. The owner provided use of the beach cart, bicycles, boogie boards etc. We definitely want to stay here again.

The house is clean, comfortable, and well-located in walking distance from Natural Bridges Beach. The ladder to the loft in one of the bedrooms is pretty steep so don’t count on using the loft for younger kids or adults with any mobility challenges. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Our stay was fabulous. There were nine of us so we were bursting at the seams, but there was room to sleep and plenty to spread out into during the day. We also utilized both outdoor spaces. The only downside, we could not hear the ocean.

I stayed at Bruce's Beach House over my wedding weekend with my now husband and three of our close friends. We were so grateful to have such a comfortable retreat to come back to for some peace and quiet during the happy chaos of the weekend. Besides being an unbeatable location in Santa Cruz, the house is full of cozy touches and pretty much every amenity you could need. We hope to return in the future to celebrate our anniversary!

Location was a short walk to Natural Bridges beach and close to all of the new micro-breweries and restaurants popping up around West side Santa Cruz. Garage had many many beach amenities and several bikes that are able to be used. We had a great time.

We visited for 3 days and loved just hanging around in this beautiful home. Very light, lots of windows and we did have some sunny days. Well appointed kitchen, lots of comfortable seating, plenty of bath towels. A lot of the little things that you hope to find in a vacation rental.
Also, only one long block away from the walking trail along the ocean on West Cliff Drive - so nice to be able to just step outside to walk/run/bike as far as you like. We have stayed in many vacation rentals, and this is one of the few that we definitely would return to, rather than trying a new place.

House was perfect for the mix of adults and kids that we had. The big bedroom downstairs was very flexible for the age range of kids.
Beach weather wasn't perfect (playing yes, swimming no), so the bikes saved the day. Riding to the boardwalk was easy, and there were other routes we could have taken if we wanted.

This is a truly lovely location from which to enjoy Santa Cruz, and Bruce has put a lot of thought into the details (bikes, sand toys, outdoor fire pit, a kitchen with sufficient cookware, etc.) to support a wonderful vacation. Bruce was very communicative with us, and the house is lovely and a truly great location. We walked or biked to Natural Bridges, New Leaf Groceries, Westcliff, and Iveta.
Also (didn't apply to us as we had a bunch of kiddos), but this is a surprisingly good location to do wine/spirit tasting as there are several tasting rooms up on Ingalls street as well as Venus Spirits, all very walkable from this location.

A great property at a perfect location. Our two families enjoyed the home as the kids had their own space from the adults. Walking distance to a close by beach and enough packs for our party of 8 to cruise down to the wharf. Bruce was an incredible host. My daughter left a little stuffed animal she won at the boardwalk and he mailed it to us! She was so happy to have it back. Highly recommend!

There were only 4 of us. My husband, my son, our 10-year-old greatgranddaughter & I. We had invited two couples who decided not to go, due to the weather. However, we had a quiet time watching TV and bike riding on the clear days! This is right across the street from the Natural Bridges State Park. It was convenient that they had a lot of spices for different dishes! However, bring your own food - that's not part of the rental - lol.

My friends and I stayed there on a mountain bike trip and the convenient location to Wilder Ranch State Park was excellent.
