Our first trip to Ghana, Osu, Vandersalle Apartments

We liked the location as it's close to Oxford Street. We also really appreciated the service we received from the staff team as everyone was very pleasant and accommodating. From front of house to laundry, house keeping, to catering, and bar staff to security, the service was brilliant. We would like to give a shout out to Aaron, Moses's brother who always make himself available to transport us to and from the many destinations that we travelled to and from, Emmanuel, for ironing our clothes and getting my wife's trousers stitch after it go ripped, Stephanie, head chef and all the rest of the kitchen staff for the lovely meals, Shelley at reception who always check on us to see if we need house cleaning and Robert, the bar staff who sat and listened to me playing my Jamaican music. we really appreciate you all and will definitely be back sometime after April next year, God's willing. Oh!! and we loved the sunshine, the fresh rain and the soft water that we used to shower. How could we forget the lovely jelly coconuts and fresh fruit from Oxford Street.

Great first stay!

First time in Ghana and perfect first accommodation. I loved it there. Lovely clean and comfortable room with microwave and fridge. Good shower, with a nice bar of soap and towels. Comfortable bed. Lots of storage. All the staff were lovely welcoming and really helpful. The hotel has two balcony areas and one with a bar. Great for lounging. The food was good. The hotel is about 10mins walk from the centre plenty of restaurants, bars and shops for the essentials. WiFi was pretty consistent. I felt safe as a solo female at the hotel and around Osu. I would stay again in a heart.

No choices for vegetarian breakfast. Just veg omelette and bread/toast. It would have been nice to have had a choice of fruit and fruit juice. Would have been good to have a kettle in the room as well. There was a problem with the ceiling lights one which kept flashing. The T. V signal wasn't working. I didn't raise these issues with the hotel as it wasn't too much of a problem for me.

My stay was tranquil, wonderful, and revitalizing.

I enjoyed the room's cleanliness. My apartment was cleaned daily, with new towels provided.

Less variety at breakfast. Diversify your diet with new items. For instance, it was always pancake, fried egg and toasted tiny bread.

the proximity to the airport

only issue was the washroom easily getting wet n making the floor wet n slippery at danger of slippery. no drains or wet towel to dry the spilled over water from the bathroom

Great Location and beds

Firstly all of the staff was very helpful, welcoming, accommodating and understanding. I had and issue with my first room and I received a upgrade that was better than the room I booked. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have had the pleasure to sleep in. the location is perfect for Accra night life and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again and again.

breakfast came with my room however, there wasn’t much options being lactose intolerant only eat, select things for breakfast. I feel breakfast could be a range of seasonal fruits as well as oatmeal instead of just a set meal.

Very good

The staff was very lovely. I had to postpone my trip and they were really flexible on the date-change. Also I got a late check-out, because my travel plans were a bit complicated. This is extra valuable! On top the Internet was excellent, that's such a game-changer. I really consider to come back to the place.

Excellent value hotel close to shops and restaurants. Great breakfast and secure parking included. Room had fridge and microwave which was really nice, nice cozy bedding.

One towel provided for two people, but we didn't bother to ask for a second.

It was a restful and relaxing time at van-Der-Salle Apartments. Congratulations to staff and managem

Staff are very friendly and welcoming. My room was cleaned almost everyday - new towels and bedsheets. this is refreshing. Kitchen staff work hard to give you the kind of meal you want. Vera and Eric are good are at improvising. Thanks a lot to Vera, Eric & Robert for their attentiveness and sensitivity to my needs - A service-dominant logic at work!

The mosquitoes and ants at the restaurant and bar areas can be disturbing and uncomfortable. Staff try to place a mosquito coil under the table but it seems this is not very effective. I think this is a general problem in many parts of Osu!!!

Oh to sleep

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay good.

Unfortunately due to Compass point, an outside music venue being there playing live music every night till around 5 am in a morning and our first apartment being approx 30 metres away no sleep for 11 nights. We did move into main block for last 2 nights and was peaceful. It was not fault of our hosts but do feel Environmental health should be notified. I would definitely stay again but in main building.
