Breakfast, staff, location, parking, the room was spacious
The room, the TV was bad, the bathroom was upstairs, there was no couch, no green tea, the mattress was 2 singles

The property staff was very welcoming. The property itself offered us a romantic setting and held a lot of the old English charm. We greatly enjoyed the game room and the grounds. The location was also very peaceful.
Let me start by saying this is the first negative booking, com review I’ve felt compelled to share since before COVID. The food offered at the property’s restaurant for dinner Sat evening was a subpar “in door BBQ”. In addition to being subpar, we considered it expensive (eg 26 pounds per person for poor quality and limited selection BBQ meats, a salad that purported to be Greek but was anything but… improper condiments - not even BBQ sauce - and no desert included in the price) - we might have expected something slightly better at an old folks retirement home, which is really saying something. Also, if you were hoping for a comfortable bed, look elsewhere. Our spring bed felt as if it had not been replaced in more than a decade… as we turned over at night, the springs creaked and poked into our bodies making it a long night.

The rooms were clean, the bed spacious in a classic Victorian feel setting
The shower did not stay on the upright pole so had to shower free hand

Breakfast very nice but arrived cold each morning. Floors in the upstairs rooms very noisy so guests below very unhappy. Having weddings going on till late not fair on paying guests.

Receptionist.
Our room was over hot. There were two radiators in the room, the thermostatic valves on one was broken off, the other was stuck full on. we couldn't turn down the heat. The mattresses were thin and when I sat up my bottom touched the base. I think this hotel aspires to be a resort destination but there is more to be done yet. At dinner I ordered olives from the menu but they came back and told me they had run out with no offer of alternatives. Not very good.
I think we paid for what they apire to rather than what we got.

Excellent food. Every meal was beautifully presented and we tried food we had never had before. Such friendly and caring staff. A very cheerful welcome. The nearby village was attractive. Good area to visit other well-known places locally.
Room not as big as expected but it was an old building. Bathroom - two chips on the bath and a cupboard door missing under the basin.
Shame people didn’t dress up a bit for dinner. The main waitress for one meal was really badly dressed.

The location and Hall was ideal, food was excellent. Bed was a little uncomfortable, and there was a stain on the quilt.

We stayed over Christmas and the moment we entered the hotel the cosines and the feeling of being at home was there (big fresh Christmas tree, the aroma of mulled wine and super friendly, lovely staff. Every wish was fulfilled and the food was just perfect, every meal was delicious. My husband said that the bed was the most comfortable ever (he likes it soft)

Beautiful building the room was large and very good, all the staff we met were absolutely fantastic so friendly and helpful, we had our meal outside in the garden the food and service was good.
The service charge put on our meal I hate that, I would have been happy to tip the staff but I do not want it pushed on to me.

The character of the hotel was lovely, the staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for you.
The food was lovely.
Breakfast was good, good choices.
Only minor issues but a lot of people smoked outside in the beer garden right under where the bedrooms are, this meant if we had our window open it smelt like smelt, maybe there could be a an area away from the windows for this?
4.2
Breakfast, grounds
Toiletries were in a container that could be used by every visitor. It was a refill container and in this day and age should have been smaller containers so we could have took there home. As we paid for them. The room was a little small and bed was uncomfortable because it appears that two single beds were joined together.
4.2
The room was stuffy and hot and I couldn't breath properly.
Upstairs was very noisy with footsteps and creaky floor which made it impossible to sleep well.
The breakfast was good nothing special to speak about.
The beds were very comfortable and soft.
I am slightly disabled and think that your hotel does not cater for someone like me and a mobility scooter.
Do something about the creaky upstairs floors above room 20
4.2
lovely location
needs a lot if TLC and also a clear identity it should be about the history of the building but is a mismatch of cultures and design giving it no personality
4.2
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, we were made to feel very comfortable.
Dinner was excellent.
The bedside lamps had very short cables so it was not possible to stand the lamp on the bedside table and have it plugged in.
4.2
good location and very clean

Friendly people and dinner was very good.
