Comfortable room
Location is a bit far from city centre but there’s bus stop nearby. No phone set in the room for emergency call after reception closed at night.

I loved this property it really gives you a feeling of mid 20th century Britain and the staff were so helpful
I have no complaints

St Margaret's is a small charming hotel in a historic building. The rooms are spacious, newly refurbished and tastefully decorated. My room was on the second floor (no lift) and had a large modern bathroom.
The location is convenient to central/north Oxford. The breakfast is a bit minimalist, but still sufficient.
I am satisfied with my experience and will return in the future.

The only small drawback is the noise from the street, which however at night is not too busy.

Wonderful accommodation for family. Within walking distance of town

Beautifully quiet location, but very near the bus stop. Extremely helpful staff and a simple but comfortable room.
The breakfast area was quite small; it was just a shame the weather didn’t allow us into the lovely garden!
4.3
Close to the city centre and clean room
Breakfast was ok but hash browns barely cooked and not much there

Breakfast was a good selection, would have preferred a little earlier start than 8 am especially on day of departure. Room was downstairs ++++, very quiet no road noise, could have windows open for fresh air.
There was nothing I did not like.

Very nice place to stay. The room was very clean and super comfortable - be aware, no elevator :-). Kind and welcoming staff, parking included, clear instructions. We will be back if we need to spend another night in Oxford.
All is good. Maybe the breakfast room is a bit crowded during the breakfast peak hours, but beyond this we had an extremely enjoyable stay.
4.3
Friendly staff, nothing too much problem.
Didn’t a bedside light, operated from the bed.
4.3
Comfortable beds, free parking, simple breakfast, and great staff
Bathtub not draining as quick but not an issue at all. Nearest convenience store about 15 minutes walk away.
4.3
Good location 20 minute walk to town. Charming room. Continental breakfast

Bedroom was reasonable, Bed was OK. Location is twenty minute walk to the centre of Oxford.
This is not a hotel, it is a guest house. Water stain on the ceiling of the bedroom.
I found the breakfast to be poor.
Breakfast was in the conservatory, which was too small for the number of people. Tables were too close to each other. Difficult to move between the tables.
The bread was damp, it had been frozen. The hot items consisted of beans, heated canned plum tomatoes, and scrambled eggs with parsley! That's what the sign said, no parsley. The tables were cheap, poor quality, and diners had to set their own table. There was one salt cellar for the dining room. There was a good selection of Tesco cereal. The first morning, the granola containers were empty, For the remainder of our stay, the granola containers were removed.

The hotel was located within easy walking distance of restaurants etc. The room was large and airy, the bed comfortable and the staff friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful.
Breakfast was simple and food topped up regularly, but the coffee machine was a little complicated!

Lovely rooms. Quiet . Never heard our neighbors. Lovely garden area .

This is a lovely hotel - a hidden gem on a quiet road. We booked 4 different rooms for family attending our daughter's graduation and everyone was pleased and very comfortable with their rooms which were all spacious and very well equipped. Very nice breakfast which we eat in the conservatory one morning and in the sunny garden the next. Coffee was gorgeous ! Angie was super friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome - nothing was too much trouble for her in making our stay happy and relaxed. Everyone wants to go back !

Our stay at St. Margarets was lovely...the staff was very nice with us and our baby...the rooms were perfect...
If we had to state something "negative", it would have to be the breakfast.. it is definitely more for muesli fans...
But there are so many restaurants and cafés in Oxford, that it was no big deal...
4.3
Good comfortably sized family room. The staff was super helpful, we were able to communicate with them about late check-in on the phone and they were super quick to respond through the chat function. Parking was also available, which was super convenient. The breakfast was a good spread (note it's not the full English, but diverse still). They also had board games in the alley, we didn't have the time to play, but that's something foe next time perhaps:)

The lovely housekeeper
Blackout curtains not total blackout
4.3
The rooms were large and clean with all the amenities that were advertised.
We do not have cooked breakfasts in our normal everyday routine at home and always look forward to a 'full English' when staying in a hotel. We were very disappointed to see a note in the room that said, ' due to food wastage we have taken the decision NOT to offer a full English option'. Had we known beforehand, I would not have booked this hotel.
4.3
Lovely bathroom, comfortable bed
Would have liked more fruit available at breakfast, even if tinned, or cereal topper,
But generally wide breakfast choice.
4.3
Very friendly staff and nice size room.
It was all very nice, even if a bit of a walk into city centre.
4.3
Comfortable, spacious room and friendly helpful staff who were happy to accommodate a change to the room type. Really good selection of food for breakfast in the conservatory, including catering for dietary requirements. Lots to see and do within walking distance - recommended!
A couple of very minor maintenance issues, but really nothing to complain about - great place to stay.
4.3
room and breakfast
its looking a little tired
4.3
Room
Shower head support was broken, shower doors did not shut correctly, required adjustment. Breakfast was very basic.
4.3
The staff were incredible - very passionate about helping the visitors
The room was slightly too warm but not a problem at all as I could open the windows to let the cold air in
4.3
cleanliness, friendly staff, accomodation etc
none

Really easy check in and check out processes, comfortable room, clean and quiet. Clear communication before my stay, helpful signs and instructions throughout the hotel.
4.3
Disappointing experience.. although the building and location were fine, there were several things about my stay that were below the minimum expected. The room hadn’t been cleaned properly with used dirty tissues from previous guests still laying underneath the bed. I didn’t see a single staff member during my whole visit. They simply left a key in my room door and I found the front door left open at several points in the evening (seems unsafe). The room was cold, the water lukewarm, and the WiFi didn’t work for half of the evening. There were no curtains, only some flimsy blinds that were basically pointless, and the mattress was clearly very old/used. I’ve never left a bad review and I appreciate there may be staff shortages but this was simply not acceptable (it wasn’t cheap either)

the hotel room is so lovely, all good. in addition the staff is very kind and helpful. because of strike, my booked train ticket was cancelled. I could not find a ticket using my original app. The staff helped me! and even write a note with all trip details. I really appreciate it!!!
