great location
I was debited for the stay a couple of weeks before the trip by booking.com and when I arrived I was told I have to pay again in the hotel as they did not receive the funds. I was on the phone with the owner and was trying to explain that I was already debited, provided a confirmation email from booking.com and showed them the debit on my bank account, but they still insisted that I have to pay. Luckily I was given the key 'for the time being' and someone was supposed to come and talk to me about this. We have wasted good 2 hours waiting before going to the reception and being told we don't have to wait because the manager will be in very late. In the meantime, I made a call to booking.com who told me that the hotel did not claim the money from them. In the end no one came to talk to us. The bed was not very comfortable and slanted towards the headboard, so we were sleeping with our heads down.

I particularly liked the fact that Tower House is so central and yet doesn't charge the ridiculous prices charged by so many of the larger hotels in Oxford. Really good value for money

Location is excellent.
Bath tub is too deep to climb into. For safety purposes, to include a non slip bathmat to avoid slipping and to install handles by the sideof the bath to avoid any accident.

Excellent service - easy key access and fantastic central location, just what we needed
Not the best shower, but typical old English building so hard to get head height

A great location and very comfortable room - lovely little place full of character and the perfect base to explore Oxford. A period property so remember to mind your head if you're tall!

The bed was comfortable. Clean and tidy. TV tea making facilities . Good
I had to go upstairs for the bathroom. Couldn't get in the shower when needed as someone else in there. While resting mid morning my door was opened by obviously the owner . Never knocked just let himself in and never said who he was shocked to see me there and left again. Bad manners not to knock. A Lot of money with no breakfast and having to we all upstairs in the middle of the night to use the toilet. Room cold in the mornings.

We chose this property for its central location and we weren't disappointed; it was right in the middle of the shopping and sightseeing area. The property was clean and comfortable. We parked in the Westgate carpark which was about a 10 minute walk away.
Check-in was difficult, we arrived just before 3pm and called the contact number but didn't receive a call back until 4:45pm - it's lucky we didn't take our cases directly to the property! I guess this is a problem with properties which do not have staff on-site.

had to wait in the rain before someone let us in

Receptionist was nice, location was central.
They were accommodating with alternative milk and went out of their way to make this happen
The room was very tired, paint chipping off the walls, mould in the shower ceiling.
It was cold - and no way to put the heating on.
Super soft mattress which sinks the both of you into the center of the bed - leaves you with a poor posture and below average sleep.

Two of three windows without working locks. Basic security point not taken care of, especially for solo travellers. One window had no working lock and the other sash kept falling open and forcing the lock so it couldn't lock. I didn't feel safe and decided not to stay and am yet to be refunded. The bedroom door has no internal security lock either. This needs updating.

Location is simply unbeatable, and somehow isn't reflected in the very cheap price
The room is very very small (bed takes up 90% floorspace), and without cooling, is inhospitable during a heatwave (naturally)

The location, room and facilities were all excellent. If you're visiting Oxford for a few days this is a great place to stay. There is no nearby parking but you are just off the high street and main shopping area and in amongst lots of interesting buildings. The room I had was huge with a large bathroom and great walk-in shower. The room had a desk, chair, walk-in wardrobe etc. Much better than I expected for the price. Would gladly stay there again. There was tea making facilities and even a little book library to keep you entertained.
Nothing.

The owner was very nice and accommodating, our check-in was at 2pm and he rushed to get me the keys as I had a boat trip to get too. Location is perfectly central to go anywhere.
Overall the general areas and shared bathroom were cute and quirky and clean.
The bed was not comfy, we had the small blue room, the mattress kept sinking into the middle and it was hard to keep to our side of the bed as I was sharing with my mum, the other main issue was the noise every hour. we seemed to be next to a hydraulic pump that made a very loud noise every 30min to an hour and we could not sleep all night as the noise kept waking us up. Also, the sink in the bedroom overflowed with water until the hydraulic pump kicked in.
Stairs quite narrow, but this is normal in old properties.

Phenomenal location and a lot of adorable historical charm. The room is gorgeous and that view is unbeatable! Tower House is a fun, secure, and beautiful place to stay in Oxford.
The mattress is extremely uncomfortable with springs poking out all over the place and saggy spots. The ceiling is quite low (even for a short person like me) and the private bathroom is serviceable, but in rough shape. Honestly, it looks nicer than it is.

location, cute and comfortable. loved the old feeling of the building and room
