The studio was complete and cozy. Kitchen was useful. Instructions were well provided (all but for the micro-grill). Bus stop was by the doorstep. Glad they lifted the 7pm deadline for collecting keys. Coordination was easy.
I could not operate the micro-grill. Thankfully there was the electric hob, and proper communication with the host.

The apartment is located in a very calm and quiet area, expensive residential area of Oxford, wak distance 20 mins from the city centre. The room is equipped with what is needed. It is suitable for longer stay as well. Fortunately, the cleaning lady showed me how to get the key upon the arrival, so I had no troubles with getting the key. Their sister hotels in the city centre can help which was quite convenient for me.
The room is not big, but it is still acceptable.

Nicely equipped. Good location. Easy access.

Comfortable compact well thought out studio. Location on bus route. Easy access with lockbox.
The bathroom was tiny. The temperature of the water in the shower was variable but warm rather than hot.

The studio is on a main road into Oxford. The number 6 bus stops right outside and runs every 15 minutes until 11ish. The studio is compact, but has all you need for a short stay. There isa small dining area in the kitchen. The price is economical.
I found the arrangements for getting the key from the box a bit stressful. I would have prefered to have been sent the code and not have to make complicated phone call arrangements. It did work.

Nice clean studio (in basement), well equipped kitchen, quiet location, decent price for Oxford.
Miniscule TV. Fridge in strange position (next to bed so could not open the door all the way!).

location and parking
Terrible shower (cold/needs replacing).
Mouldy washing machine and no dryer or clothes airer.
9.0 / 10.0
The apartment is well appointed and positioned. Hosts are responsive and helpful. Bus stop is almost outside the front door. Shopping, restuarant and pub just around the corner. Shower was good enough - warm water and pressure. The room has a table and 2 chairs, plus a sofa.
A few little things would make it 10/10 for the short stay (less than 2 weeks) traveller - filter coffee, washing powder and cooking oil. Could not find the corkscrew for a wine bottle. Whilst there is a washing machine there is no place to hang washing. A pull-out line in the bathroom would work well.

location
room smelt of spicy food that had been cooked by previous guests
bed was uncomfortable because the mattress was shot - old and lumpy, could feel every spring
room did not reflect the photos on the site - not an accurate representation of the room which was small, dark and in need of updating/refurbishment

Very friendly staff, easy to contact on arrival and very good communication with information and how to obtain keys. Room basic but clean and had everything there that we needed. 30minute walk into the city, lots of buses running down the road if we didn’t want to walk.

Really easy check in especially as I was a last min booking! Really good for buses into town if you don’t want to walk for 30min. Compared to other places around it’s good for price, it’s not fancy but that’s why it’s slightly cheaper.
Not much really, was on par with expectations :)

Well appointed and good location. Excellent value for money
Mattress very hard but that is the only thing I can find to say against it.

Good location for my purposes. Had all basic amenities. No frills. Adequate Internet. Keybox entry is fine but visitors should be advised to bring a small torch if the do not have one on their phone. Good late checkout time at 11 am.
Noisy from traffic on Woodstock Road despite double glazing. No proper curtains or blinds so light not excluded. Stiff door into bathroom in unit 4. No signage indicating where the apartment was.. It turned out to be on the first floor. No lift which I appreciate is probably difficult to install here.

The beds were comfortable. The room had one bed and it was very large and comfortable. I requested a second bed and was given a travel bed. As an older adult, I found this travel bed quite comfortable. It had a good quality DREAMS mattress on it and I slept well. The towels were clean and good quality. The bathroom appeared to be renovated to a good standard. The owner does respond when contacting him on his mobile number which is provided on the confirmation. The pictures on the walls are nice. There are saucepans, a skillet and kitchen utensils (albeit filthy).
First of all, if you are booking through Booking.com you should know that the PIN they give you for the door keys is not the correct PIN. I contacted the owner on the mobile number to check regarding the PIN because we were arriving after dark. He said "The PIN given by Booking.com is Booking.com's PIN and not our PIN". He texted me the PIN on the morning of arrival, which made me nervous because we were already traveling to Oxford when we finally received the text. Do not bother calling the landline number because you only get a voicemail and they do not respond. Second, be aware that all messages you send them through Booking.com's 'message property' do not get a response from the owner. When I contacted him on the mobile number and stated that I messaged them several times via Booking.com, he stated that he did not receive them. I've never had this issue with other properties across the world through Booking.com. Thirdly, be aware that if you book a basement apartment in the winter, it is very cold and is very, very DAMP. Your towel, even on the heated towel rack will not dry. The smell of damp is quite strong in the kitchen and there is mould under the bathroom sink. There is only one tiny radiator in the entire apartment. It took a couple of days on constant high temperature to warm up the apartment. Every dish in the kitchen either had dried food on it or had grease on it or both. So, I had to wash every dish and utensil in the kitchen upon arrival. The refrigerator was so smelly that I purchased a disinfectant cleanser and cleaned the refrigerator before using it. The kitchen cupboard door hits the light shade when you open the cupboard door. The wardrobe door does not close at all. Be aware that the windows do not have curtains. They only have blinds that do not cover the entire window so people can see in. The blinds are filthy.

The room was okay, they did supply all the usual things like tea and coffee and towels
I did notice some patches of mould on the bathroom ceiling, and you have to wait ages for any hot water by which time the bathroom sink is overflowing, being such a small sink.

Staff very friendly, good proximity to city centre, good amenities in apartment
Nothing it was all good
3.0 / 10.0
Good sized shower
Check in and out was poor with one needing to phone someone for the lockbox code even after messaging a day ahead. The kitchen was falling apart, fridge froze all of my food, the bed was more than uncomfortable and all in all I felt ripped off for the amount I paid.

It was a great value place to stay and we will be using it again when visiting our daughter at uni. Bed really comfortable, the free parking is a huge asset, and it's a reasonable walk to get to St Giles and the centre, or there are loads of buses. A taxi isn't that much either. Summertown is close by for shopping if you need it. The hosts were quick to respond to questions and kindly gave us an extra hour before checkout on the Sunday, which was much appreciated. Highly recommend over other places we have stayed in oxford.
We loved it.
