Fantastische accommodatie! Heel fijn verblijf gehad.

Fantastische oude cottage omgeven door een prachtige tuin. Heel vriendelijk personeel en zeer attent. De locatie is geweldig midden in het centrum van Nuwara Eliya. Je loopt zo naar het Grand hotel voor een heerlijke maaltijd of high tea.

De kamer is een beetje gehorig en het kan koud worden. Dit komt door de omgeving in de bergen en de oude stijl van de cottage, maar we hebben een prima verblijf gehad.

It’s a gorgeous old cottage with so much charm and and beautiful garden. The staff was very nice and happy to make an extra step to help. As it’s an old building, there were some problems with hot water and it can get cold in the room (but it was rainy and very cold outside during my stay). Very good breakfast. Overall I loved this place, there was something magical there.

Marvellous garden and villa in old english style behind golf court next to the faboulous Grand Hotel . Very nice staff, good breakfast and nicely decorated rooms. we like the old style and enjoyed the spacious room and the quiet surrounding.

Location was at the center of town. Only 6 rooms.

Not as clean as we expected. Breakfast was minimal. Evidently only a couple of people on staff.

The location, in the heart of Nuwara Eliya town, is great. The staff were warm, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The meals were very good. The breakfast was extensive and delicious.

Great stay. Go for it.

First and foremost, hotel staff are brilliant. Service is emmaculate. Great location, walkable distance to the town and if you are visiting Horton plains, it's a 1 and half hour drive from the hotel.

I know it's a cold location however they could have installed a fan in each room and give the option to the customer to turn it on or not. I kinda felt sweaty in the room during the day.

Amazing stay!

We had a great time at Hill Cottage! The hotel location is wonderful. Close to city main attractions. Peaceful & calm. Good breakfast. Many cafes and restaurants nearby. Helpful and kind staffs. Highly recommended!!!

You feel like you are in England. Pay attention that you bring also an adapter for British sockets :) Hotel is next to the Grand Hotel.

Excellent value for money. Located right next door to the hill club and a short walk down the road from the the Grand. Set in a very quiet secluded area beautiful garden but short walk from city center. Beautiful country cottage with only 6 rooms. Best bed voted by my husband and sons.

Our children 's bathroom had a damp smell but ours was perfect. That's a small issue as the room itself didn't have a smell.

Beautiful place to stay for our trip to Horton Plains National Park

- spacious room in beautiful cottage - friendly and welcoming staff which helped us with everything we needed (they arranged a tuk tuk to the National Park for us and prepared us a breakfast to take with us) - we highly recommend to try the curry at Hill Cottage, it was absolutely delicious

Moldy room with a very strong smell. I'd stay away.

The staff was very nice and kind. The location has great potential.

The room and bathroom had severe mold in many places. The smell of mold was very strong and we were lucky we only had to spend one night there.

Colonial Stopover

Beautifully maintained gardens and a variety of flowers welcome you to this ex Colonial bungalow. The six bed conversion with a mini reception and a dining room has been cleverly adopted to its present use. A pot of spiced tea and brief welcome by Jim (Frank) and his team. For our early morning excursion, a lovely take out breakfast was ready at 5am. A basic adequate variety for the following day’s breakfast was laid out. The location is within easy walking distance of all the local facilities, The Grand Hotel is good for a drink and dinner.

The property could do with some TLC, the solar water heating could be a little temperamental and slow at times. Overall for the price we paid, I feel it was adequate

The manifique hotel with very cosy and European atmosphere inside with antique furniture. Very interesting and authentic place. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was various and delicious. The location is superb right next to the Victory park and The Grand Hotel, where you may enjoy beautiful public and free for entrance garden. Right next to the hotel there is The Indian food restaurant with good tasty food and fastest in Sri service

A three day stay that fully took in the old English charm of the small town.

Nice atmospheric old building right next door to the famous Hill Club. Characterful bedroom with supremely comfortable bed. Very well positioned for dining at the Grand Hotel and playing golf at the golf club.

Jim is a great host and food and location are exceptional

Our host, Jim, went above and beyond for us. His and his colleagues work made it a perfect stay. Every meal was unique and prepared with care. We enjoyed our stay greatly

Great value and location

Great value for money and location is perfect for walking and exploring. Rooms are big and spacious.

This is more about booking.com hiding the taxes and extra charges. Not Hill Cottages fault at all. Just something to pay attention to as it will alter the price by around 25%

Beautiful historical building

Very beautiful building, friendly stuff, located in the most beautiful part of the city. Lot’s of options for breakfast. Comfy and spacious bed. Fireplace in the room(though we did not ask to use it)

We got not the room shown on the photos by booking, but a smaller and darker one.

Suprb bungalow in the citi center.

Location is very good. Walking distance to all important points. Cool and serene quiet environment ..can relax in your own way. Staff was very friendly and caring .beautiful garden .

Spacious room, nice staff, wonderful breakfast.

The guy from the reception (who was super nice) gave me some unuseful tips: told me that Pedro factory is closed (it was open) while encouraging me to go to another tea plantation, and recommended me an overpriced touristy restaurant when I asked him for a local restaurant.

The hotel was lovely, but the comminucation was somewhat challenging

A lovely little hotel which looks exactly like in the pictures. The staff were really friendly and greeted us with a smile every time we passed by. We also enjoyed an abundant breakfast.

It gets quite cold during the night. We had a fireplace in our room and possibly could ask to lit it, but given how challenging it was to figure out the issue with the hot water earlier that evening, we decided to avoid extra communications. The thing with the hot water was that you had to open the tap and let it run for at least five minutes to make it really hot. I also happened to forget my laptop charger in the hotel room and realized it when I was 3 hours drive away. I called the reception, and they were eager to help, but we failed to understand each other and agree on how they could arrange a delivery.

Very good

This charming hotel is located in a beautiful garden which is worth spending in an afternoon drinking tea and reading a book. The bed was comfortable and the with help of a small heater it didnt get too chilly during night. The breakfast was generous and the staff very friendly.

Unfortunately the wallsocket next to bed didnt work and the drain of the sink in our bathroom was leaking.
