Spa pool gym
Location
Friendly staff
Decor is dated and musty, like an old pub, not a spa resort.
Our room was pokey and no view
Expensive food and drinks, which has 10% service charge added automatically.

Nothing
Extremely rude and disinterested staff. Not 5 star at all! Photos are deceptive as they only show new additions to the very old hotel. The pool was not blue but murky with a yellow tinge. The spa is also used by locals with membership and a large ugly notice greets you, saying please have your photo taken ( for members of the spa) This is not a relxing spa hotel. Anything but. I didn't bother checking in after seeing reception area and being greeted with ' NO DOGS ALLOWED". Don't list it as 'pet friendly' it is NOT.

The spar and gym room was very good and clean .
The evening meal was very nice and the staff was very friendly.
Apartment 228 was surrounded by scaffolding due to work being done on the main building . When the wind picked up the scaffolding planks kept banging against the metal keeping up most of the night.
We only went to breakfast one morning and the service was very slow , I could of went and did 50 lengths in the pool came back and still people would of been standing by the hot plate waiting for sausages and bacon .
If you are going with your dog in the next couple of weeks ask not to be put in room 228 .

Good atmosphere and plenty of space down stairs for food and drink peace place.
Too expensive everything.
3.9
Pool, views central location
no evening meals meaning you had to travel out, the rooms were exceptionally tired and needed refurb. Cleaning could have been better.
3.9
Location
Property was extremely dirty, covered in stains, floors were dirty, dead flies and cobwebs everywhere and a horrific smell.
3.9
Nice quiet location away from the road.
Spa facilities were great and the staff were polite and helpful
Price of breakfast

The pool and spa are the highlights. Although can be very busy. Nice views from the outside.
Did opt to have breakfast as the reviews were bad. That seems to mean where were in an outbuildings instead of the main hotel. Room was very dirty, you wouldn't want to sit on the sofa. Towels were also dirty. As staying for 3 nights we were moved inside, but if there was space why not put us there in the first place?
Rooms are very tired and really needs some investment. Be weary of bar prices. Some drinks are way more than you expect and they don't tell you the price or show you the card machine meaning you get a nasty surprise when you check your banking app. Staff were patronising and although some staff admitted it was there error the manager refused to do anything about it.
I would recommend staying at the dial in Lamphey instead. For the same price room you get breakfast included where we ate and would highly recommend instead.

Location was brilliant for some R&R
Family swimming times

We required a disabled access room and were very happy with the room we were given. Whilst it was a bit of a walk to the breakfast room it was very accessible and the standard of breakfast was very good. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Swimming pool was freezing hot tubs cold kids everywhere &load work stay fhere again
Staff

The location
The service, the food was shocking. Bed was like sleeping on a marshmallow.
Staff were miserable, fish had been refried! When questioned the waiter didn't really care. Had to get condiments myself.
Bedroom looked very tired and in need of a face-lift. Dirty bath, bin not emptied from previous visitor.
Stale biscuits in room. Very disappointing.

Excellent location, nice and pleasant hotel. You have everything you need for a stay: bar, restaurant, spa and pool. A great place to spend weekend to relax or have a date with your partner.
It would be great if chef could learn how to make eggs properly. Poached eggs were overcooked and scrambled eggs were over-fried.
3.9
Nice friendly family place , 3 miles from the beach, real close from Pembroke castle and 20 mn drive from Tenby.
Within a few steps to the Lamphey bishop palace, a ruined medieval building complex.
Nice welsh breakfast and we ordered room service, the food was really good and served in good portions.
I picked up a spa on purpose for my husband who had a stroke .
The pool got steps and a hand rail in the middle which make it accessible.
But the water was too cold to a hypersensitive person.
The studio room could have been cleaner.

Everything was just as we expected and thank you to all the staff for being so attentive.
Eveything was ok

period property which is a bit dated inside. it the grounds are nice.
the spa is visually very nice but the jacuzzi was cold, so was the pool and the sauna wasn’t on which I imagine is all the save due to cos of energy but I wouldn’t have booked if I had known this.

Perfectly situated for Freshwater Beach, Stackpole Quay, and Barafundle Beach. On site Spa which was free for guests. Quiet location with added bonus of Lamphey Bishops Palace ruuns literally next door, which was great to wander around.Great food and friendly staff.
Restaurant furniture was a little dated, but it served its purpose.
3.9
beautiful property, lovely swimming pool, bedrooms had what they needed in. scenery so peaceful.
breakfast didn’t start till 7.30, we had to leave by 7.45 so only had time for cereal, so at £33.85 for 1 adult and 2 children we felt this was very expensive.
3.9
Lovely entrance/reception hall and dining room in conservatory
we weren’t staying in the main hotel but a studio block next door. The room door had to be slammed to be shut, and our room was next to the front of the studio block and the front door didn’t shut properly.
3.9
The pool, the location and parking was good
only the shower was slow but won’t put me off going again

Friendly staff, beautiful room, fabulous food, clean relaxing spa
Honestly loved everything

The room was a small 2nd floor apartment outside of the main hotel which was good for a group of friends though not particularly luxurious for the price. There is a flight of exterior stone steps to access the apartment which could be problematic for some, this wasn't identified when booking. Location was nice with lovely views, place was clean and tidy with ample parking.
A garage near by to get supplies
A lovely village pub for great dining
Our party - 4 NHS nurses on a bithday weekend and much needed relaxing break.
The hotel - one party member left in the foyer awaiting the parties arrival, not acknowledged by the receptionist or guided to the bar / facilities for a coffee or drink whilst waiting.
The spa- Refused robes and slippers at the spa, even though these were part of the package as hotel guests. Informed that the following day was busy and there wouldn't be enough time to launder them, dispite this comment from the spa receptionist, hotel guests in the spa and those who arrived after our party had robes and slippers. This made our group feel discriminated against, and was particularly difficult for one of our party who is very body conscious and required a lot of encouragement to come into the pool / spa facilities with only the one small towel each that was provided.
The steam room wasn't working and the pool, Jacuzzi and sauna was extremely busy at 4 pm with hotel guests and non hotel members using the facilities.
Unable to book any treatments as fully booked.
Disappointing experience overall and not made to feel welcome.
The room- a coffee machine supplied but only 3 coffee pods for 4 guests.
One 500ml bottle of water for 4 guests.
The phone in the room didnt work so unable to order room service, would need to leave room and walk across 2 car parks in awful weather to access main hotel to order anything
Bathroom- products - only a bottle of hand wash supplied, no window.
Exterior- Steps very precarious on leaving after a night of flooding due to rainfall and high winds.
