The place is well located. It is very comfortable, well equipped and has an accommodating and friendly host.
The narrow stairs might cause safety hazards.
4.0
Host communication really clear and everything well explained in each room - loved the electric blanket - location near station
When booking, I was under the impression the 2 rooms would share a bathroom on same floor.
It still work but it could be explained better in the description before payment is made.
3.5
Smoky smell in the room when we arrived. Otherwise good value and close to train and bus station which suited us as we had no car.

Helen was extremely helpful with everything from being able to drop luggage in early as I was going to an event. Also helping with taxi numbers
4.5
Ideal location by Lidl and long stay car park with train station nearby. Very clear entry instructions and very clean inside.
Initial approach is deceptive to the actual inside of the property

Lovely place to stay

The rooms were comfortable and provided all self catering arrangements. Helen the host was super kind and helpful. She accommodated a free early check in for us as we were coming from far and we're tired after a long drive. She also sent pictures of all relevant codes and instructions per WhatsApp so that was really easy and made getting in so seamless. Well done and thank you Helen.
The only little thing was the shower upstairs on first floor could have been a bit clearer in the morning ( the next day) but other than that Brick Sage Rooms were awesome I'd definitely stay again. Thanks again Helen

Very clean and modern
Many steep steps, bit of a low ceiling for those over 6ft 2.

In close proximity to the train and coach station
On arrival i found hair on my pillow. I covered it with my t-shirt. In the middle of the night i woke up people walking up and down the corridor. I opened the window and there was a smell of cannabis. When i got back to bed i felt a tickling on my air. I jumped up and switched the light on to realise that the bed was infested with bed bugs. Took a video and sent it to Helen who runs the place. Some while later she responded but i couldn’t stay because i felt so disgusted. Absolute NIGHTMARE place

Nothing it's spot on

Not a fancy place, but clean and tidy, and very good value for money.
Good comms with owner regarding key codes etc.
1. Finding the place was harder that it needed to be. It's called "BrickSage" and "The Walks" in the description, but there's no sign of these names at the location, or on the map, which caused some confusion. It would be much more clear to call it by the street address (11 Blackfriars Rd) ONLY.
2. We knew the bathrooms were shared, but hadn't realised how many rooms (about 7) would be sharing just the two bathrooms, and that they would be on a different floor to the bedrooms. This could be made clearer in the description.

So close to the station which we needed for the wedding we were attending. They’d made an effort with the decor. Clean. Bathroom newly done.
It’s basically a student house with locks on the bedrooms doors. Shared bathroom and no bathrobes so people are walking around with a towel around them. No shoes in the common parts. Fine for a night or two but no longer. The top room (loft conversion) was very hot and the bathroom was down a flight of stairs. No sink in the room. The shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold.

Room was very nice and spotless, we loved the extra touch to attention, alot of drawers and wardrobe space, decent wall mounted TV in the room, with a secure lock, overall it was a pleasant stay and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely recommend.

Amazing communication from host, she was answering queries at 11 pm and sorted minor maintenance issues promptly. I loved the secure keyless entry and fact that my room was also securely coded, easily unlocked and locked. Bed was comfy, there was tea coffee in room, lots of cooking facilities in kitchen downstairs
Not enough cups or crockery available,
No clean sponges for washing up, these had been locked away

very clean and loved the layout and the look of the rooms and the kitchen and living area, plus the bathroom was very clean.
would prefer not a shared bathroom and the heated mattress didn’t work
