Great fun for the children, peaceful fan very pretty
The Tree House was fab but it’s very hard to get hold of anyone at reception as they dont have a phone to ask any questions before you arrive. I tried to call the main hotel but they took me incorrect information and were not very helpful.

The lodge was quiet and had a hammock outside which was lovely to lie in and just relax.
Inside the lodge there was a sweet little burner to cook / make coffee, a good amount of kitchen equipment and outside was a gas fridge. There was a wood stove and the bathroom was pretty well appointed. The hand wash was lovely.
We did have a wood fired hot tub but we didn't use it.
The walk to the druids temple was fun and the central facilities by the cafe were great. It had a swing, a cinema room, chickens, a play area and a lounge where you could charge your phone and get a drink.
They had these great rechargeable light bulbs which lasted all night and could be swapped at the cafe for newly charged ones. This was a brilliant service.
The site didn't answer any questions in advance. I've never had a problem with a hotel / glamp site answering things asked via booking.com but in response to my question when booking I just got a long standard email about facilitates which didn't answer my question. I asked it again in response and received no response.
There were bits of rubbish from previous occupants in our lodge which we found when pulling some blankets back on the bottom bed, the tea towel that was with the cleaning items was soaking wet when we got there, we didn't really want to use it as a result. The king bed on the top platform had a thick mattress topper on it that didn't cover the whole mattress so one person had half their side of the bed with a steep topper, and half without, not a great nights sleep. All the beds were uncomfy in all honesty.
The hot tub is to the back and on the side of the property and not by the front by the door. I'm assuming this is done for some sense of privacy but really each hot tub has a window of another lodge looking right out onto it anyway. As parents of a small child we didn't feel like we could use the hot tub in the evening because we couldn't see the front door of the lodge from it which was a bit disappointing.
I wished we'd known there was a lot of tree felling happening on site due to a fungal tree disease before we booked.

Location was perfect.
Facilities were great.
Hot tub wasn't full the first night we arrived.

Fantastic place, the whole family enjoyed the stay. The walks, the hot tub and the Sauna! Just beautiful!

Brilliant place to stay with lots to do and lovely staff.

Lovely location, comfortable bed, lovely warm shower. Appreciated the welcome pack. Hot tub amazing. Staff friendly and helpful. Tea and coffee with wi fi connection in the reception area was great.
Check in very difficult. Arrived after dark and signs for directions very poor for the Bivouwac section. No answer on the telephone when I tried to ring for assistance locating the lodges. Cooking area rather small to accommodate 6 people and not a good selection of pans available.

Everyone connected to the Swinton Estate was helpful and friendly. The tree lodges at Swinton Bivouac were just magical. Candlelight, wood fires and hot tubs under the trees. Loved it!
The lack of light as the sun sets takes some getting used to and the lodges do not have a lot of storage space but this is not a complaint just an honest observation. This did not spoil our visit and I would recommend the lodges in a heartbeat. Loved every minute.

Absolutely loved this place. Relaxing and a great place to reconnect with family as no Wi-Fi or distractions.
Nothing.

back to basics
door needed urgent attention as it wouldn’t lock at all

absolutely nothing

The view are spectacular. Dog friendly. Shower and toilet facilities warm, just a few yards from Yurt. Lovely cafe.
Using about 3 barrow loads of logs in 12 hours to keep warm. Fire alarm going off intermittently in the early hours not knowing why... no sleep at all.

Accommodation was cosy and I thought being February it might have been cold (we don’t need the hot water bottles provided). The beds were comfy and the setting idyllic.

Beautiful location, lovely facilities, thoroughly enjoyed our stay

An adventure from start to finish. The yurts are amazing and well equipped to keep cozy. The kids loved building and lighting the fire. Also every evening a special treat was delivered to the door which was unexpected.
Can’t help the weather unfortunately, but the high winds made for very noisy nights. Ear plugs recommend.

The place is just perfect! The reception at the lodge was lovely and warming!
Very late check in and very early check out....For the price, the feeling is that you waste two days.

absolutely amazing!!
loved it all!

The location is fantastic, we were lucky with the weather as the surrounding towns and cities were being pounded by snow, we had just enough to make it look stunning but not enough to restrict our travel in the ruralist of locations. Comfortable beds, with ambient lighting (take a torch/lantern as can be a little dark). Little touches, like greeting gifts and hot chocolate was lovely.
The lounge area could do with comfier seating for relaxing in front of the log burner. The log burner hot tub was never going to get above mildly warm when -2 degrees outside but would imagine not a problem for the most part of the year.

Beautifully crafted tree lodge! We stayed in swallows rest to be exact! Had such a lovely time!
With 4 adults 3 children and one big dog it was quite cosy! The log burner crackling away over a brew and some games was so needed!
The beds were comfy! We was the bottem bed which has a very low ceiling mind not ideal if your not good with small space! Was fine for us! Small space next to the bed were we could just fit a travel cot as we took our 4 month old!
The shower was great! Warm and clean!
The decking out front was so lovely to watch the sun rise which was directly opposite us!
Overall! Such a lovely experience!
If I really had to pick faults which I’ll be honest about the other lodges are pretty close which made me feel bad when our kids were crying that it might disturb other people, and if we ever came back we’d take more lighting with us, not a bad point of the property we knew there was no electric but it gets very dark and the lighting is pretty minimal too!

All clean and tidy. Little details thought of, especially for children.

Being in the midst of the beautiful yorkshire countryside.
More storage shelves in tree lodge (very minor complaint!)

The staff there were exceptional! Always happy to help and all so polite. The yurt was beautiful and it was great to relax outside with the fire on. The dog has a blast too!
The only small negative I can think of is the roadworks that we’re going on at the time around the Swinton wastage area made it difficult to find our way back but that is at no fault of theirs.
