great stay - amazing staff - good food
hard to get to from Rivas but it’s the same no matter where you stay

This is a super sweet local establishment right on the beach with lots of shaded area to hang out and enjoy the views. The property is very well maintained and attended to and the staff is great. We stayed in a private room that was very clean, had super comfortable beds, and probably has the best air conditioner in all Popoyo. There was a private sitting area and fridge outside our room with lots of space.
It was great to have access to a comunal kitchen, I just felt that there could be a better stock of dishes and things to cook with.

Great location, lovely staff, nice hostel!
Tap water is sometimes a bit salty

The location, right on the beach. Also there is a lot of outside space to relax and meet other guests.
For the price its ok, but everything was a bit basic: kitchen, room/beds. The outside and staff were great though !

An amazing spot right on the beach and the manager was extra awesome!

super nice staff, great location right on the beach. some nice seating over looking beach that’s in the shade
kitchen was super basic with basically no equipment and a only a camping light. you can cook but not enjoyable experience. there is a restaurant on site serving ok cheap food. kind of run down room and bathroom.

staff and the location were exceptional!
the kitchen is terrible and very poorly equipped. the fan in the room was a ‘wind machine’, it was very noisy and could only be pointed in one direction so one bed got blasted by the ‘wind’ whilst the other person was sweaty and too hot 🤷🏻♀️

The placement was nice. Hammocks by the beach. Good price.
A lot of mosquitos in the room/bathroom. Unstable wifi.

Good place to enjoy alone or with friends and family. Jaime was very welcoming and pleasant. I will definitely go back.
I was there during hurricane Julia, so a lot of rain and flood. However, Jaime made sure we kept dry.

It has a really nice vibe from the other guest. The host is a friendly man. The lounge area is good to hang in the hangmats. Having breakfast with a look on the beach is really nice. The kitchen is fine to cook but hot. There is a small but expensive supermarket close by, 5 min. walking. Beter to do your shopping in Rivas.
To get to the hostel is about 8km from the busstop. From there we went hitchhiking to the hostel. Back we arranged a taxi. It is a pretty expensive taxi for the prices in Nicaragua but still affordable. Just know this before coming to Popoyo.
The wifi in the rooms were not working. The wifi at the restaurant did work in the beginning of our stay and then after a heavy rain it didn't work for two days. We didn't really care about the wifi, when you have a beautiful beach like Popoyo.
We had a lovely stay and can recommend it!
A lot of mosquitoes in the bathroom. A lot! Would be nice if the window would have a net for the window. Because now everytime we opend our bedroom we get at least 5 mosquitoes from the hallway (direct to the bathroom). We had our own Mosquito net thankfully. I didn't used the shower in that bathroom but the shower at the beach. I heared that the rooms with prived bathroom didn't had this issue.

Our two week booking turned into over a month. Beautiful beach front property with an amazing staff. The manager Jamie (he’s the best), Guanito, Maira all the others treated us like family and made sure we had everything we needed. The outdoor area, the bar and restaurant was great to meet people and relax in. The rooms were super comfortable, especially with the AC.
Thank you for everything - we’ll definitely come back!!!

When we arrived at the hostel they told us that the room we booked is taken and we have to upgrade to a more expensive one or downgrade to dorms. It turns out this is not the first time it happens, so be careful.

The hostel was right on the beach (although not the surfing one) which was good, shop and restaurants were around. There was a shared kitchen.
The room and the bathroom was full of mosquitos, they changed the bed sheets, but otherwise the walls were dirty. The price we paid for this hostel was too much for its conditions. Also, it is hard to get to that place if you travel by bus - you need to walk around 5km. So if you are going there, we recommend contacting the hostel beforehand to arrange some taxi for you (there is only one taxi there).
