Location. Many staff were wonderful.
Cleanliness of bathroom and clearing out of previous customers rubbish, effects and vomit.
4.1
Breakfast was a good combination of Japanese and Western. Location was good, easy to walk to the slopes/shuttle bus stop. It was great that the hotel provided snow boots at the entrance. It was also useful to have a rental shop and ski school in the hotel, even though we didn't use those services. The shuttle bus to the train station was convenient.
There was some miscommunication about the shuttle pick up from the train station. There were better dinner choices outside of the hotel. There was no Kaiseiki dinner which was disappointing for such a traditional hotel. The wifi in the room wasn't the best.

Set dinner in the hotel was quite good
Dead area in summertime
The bed in the picture and the bed bed in reality were not comparable
4.1
the lounge area, the onsen( excellent), the breakfast facilities and selection, the helpful staff
nothing in particular - if I was ‘picky’ I’d say the ski room/drying room could do with a bit of ‘love’. it’s not really a drying room. the area is big enough to create a proper drying room and also a ski storage area

Staff and food is excellent
And a great onson after a day skiing.

the traditional room was spacious, and has a great view of the mountains. you can experience the Japanese lifestyle wearing Yukatas and sleeping on futons which were so comfortable, and you can keep your shoes on all the way to your room. the onsen was great, especially the outside one when it was snowing. the kids had fun in the games room even though it cost me with those skill testers. bars are great too with nice beer on draught.
it was a bit of an uphill walk to the lifts.
we had to go to the ski shool every day though which is a 10 minute walk. there is a closer one about a 6 minute walk if you can ski straight out. the buffet breakfast is a bit disappointing for westerners, just scrambled eggs but no sliced bread only little rolls and croissants. nice fruit and juice.

The location was very ideal, near the ski slopes and restaurants, and we appreciate the pick-up at Akakura Bus Stop where our snow shuttle dropped us off. The room was very spacious with our own cozy bath tub, and a nice view of the snow and mountain. The staff was also helpful when the snowstorm hit and we had to make new arrangements. Overall, it was a pleasant experience at Hotel Taiko for me and my family.
The room was not warm enough even though the heater was at max 30 degrees (not sure if it is due to the big room size). The staff was not flexible in allowing us to bring our dry snowboard bag up to the room when we first arrived (as we had other personal items in the bag we wanted to unpack) - we ended up unpacking in the dry room in the basement and had to carry some of the items up to the room. Also, there seemed to be only cold water in the morning.

Very clean. Helpful staff.

The property was older but very well maintained and clean. The Onsen (baths) were incredibly beautiful and the perfect way to unwind after skiing.
4.1
The staff were great. Facilites and services good. The hotel Onsen was nice. Noting this is a traditional Onsen hotel first, and a ski hotel secondary.
Some small improvements on breakfast - add bacon, eggs cooked more, another toaster. Perhaps some better drying and locker facilites for skiing equipment.

We loved the traditional Japanese rooms. it was spacious and clean and the large window that overlooked the mountains was the best!
The room was kept very clean and warm, and I absolutely loved the hot water and tea corner that was a life saver!
They even had a shuttle bus from the nearest station so that made the journey effortless and smooth.
The buffet breakfast had a huge selection, both traditional and western options too!
We also made use of the Ski rental shop which was mighty convenient!
Only minor detail we would of loved was to have ski shuttles from the hotel to the base of the ski lifts at mt. Akakura or Akakura Onsen… they do recommend the nearest bus stop up the road, but with heavy ski gear, it’s a bit of a trek.. but it’s not too major.

Beautiful suite room with amazing views even from the bathroom. Linen and products provided were A grade. All the staff were lovely and the onsen was amazing.
4.1
room-staff-location all excellent. I went there on a ‘work retreat’. I relaxed…I did some reading and some writing…I sat in the outdoor Onsen twice a day to relax and do some mindfulness practice. it was the perfect location. the view of the mountains from my room was stunning. all was perfection.
it was ‘off-season’ so not all amenities were available. but it meant the rates were off season and it meant there not many people there to disrupt my sense of tranquility.

Location is really nice facing to Mt. Myoko. Onsen facility was also very nice. Faculty were very friendly.
It would be nice if maintained bit more clean.

The wonderful onsen
4.1
We liked the time spent in the Onsen and the fact that there was an Game space (Arcade) on one of the floors.
We liked the Futons, they were very comfortable. The view from the room is beautiful and we enjoyed the relaxing view while sipping the tea we had in the room.
We liked the Amenity bags, these were very cute, we helped ourselves to some.
We liked the Staff, they were very friendly, from the reception to the restaurants.
We liked that we could arrange for Pick-up by the Hotel, from Myoko Kogen Station.
We wish the Location would be better, slopes would be closer, maybe a shuttle would help with this.
We wish the Onsen had more driers (more than 2) and that water dispensers would be available in the onsen, not outside.
Breakfast was delicious, but could use more variety. Especially regarding sweets and breads.
Though a funny story, the foreign staff could spend more time learning Japanese, rather than relying on Google Translate Interpreter mode.
