Staff were very friendly. Pub area was cosy. Dinner was lovely, especially the pudding.
Would have liked a bedside table but the building is old and there was no space.
4.3
Lovely, cosy pub and very helpful staff. Food grea.
Only that it was so nice that we ate here all the time and spent way more than we’d planned to.
4.3
Quirky, quaint and full of history.
Nothing!

Xmas decor was second to none. Beautiful old building & the location was so pretty.
No car park but we managed to find a space on the main road

We have stayed with you a few times and really love the place and the area especially the quaint little areas when you have a log fire
Only a small thing but we had a room in the the front and were kept awake by road traffic which seemed to go on most of the night. Next time we’ll ask for a quieter room at the back.
4.3
Delicious breakfasts, great choices and presented beautifully.

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows I slept like a log.
The only I would say is I like to get some fresh air in the room and wasn't able to open the window (maybe I didn't push hard enough or didn't unlock it properly)
4.3
We had a deluxe room in the cottage but an air conditioner running outside the bedroom window was a little intrusive when it was under load and the window needed to be open for ventilation
4.3
Breakfast had limited options but tasty apart from the burned pastries.
Decor in room was nice.
Bed was comfy.
NOISY! Room was Hilda, at front of property, hard on very very busy road. No sound proofing whatsoever, may as well have slept on the pavement.
No mirror anywhere near seating or a socket - how am I supposed to blow dry my hair?
No bedside table.
No shelf in bathroom. Nowhere to put toothbrush etc.
No prepared fruit for breakfast. Burnt pastries.
4.3
it was excellent

We had a lovely two night stay in this gorgeous old pub. The room was comfortable and the little extra touches like chocolates and evening dram was fabulous. The breakfasts were wonderful and the staff super friendly.
Loved it all
4.3
Nice room in the old part of the hotel. Lovely staff at breakfast.
Room got very hot. Understand it is an historical building, but some form of cooling would help on hot days.
4.3
restaurant and staff were lovely. food was very good.
The room was awful. Don’t stay in Hilda. It was noisy. The main light didn’t work, extractor fan in bathroom didn’t work, shower took so long to drain and was in danger of flooding, so we had to cut our shower short, no hangers and no bedside tables. a couple of the faults were reported, but nothing was done.
4.3
amazing location. great facilities. we’ll set out into different zones. Chris team are superb. this should be a blueprint for how all similar businesses are set up.
nothing.

- Lovely lady checked me in.
- A place to stay with character.
- Perhaps my own fault but I didn't realise the parking isn't attached to the property and there weren't any clear signs of where to go. Traffic down this road/area is INSANE, so stopping on the road to call the hotel was super stressful. Eventually got directions and managed to find the free car park, but it's not a guaranteed space as it's quite small.
- No lift in the property, which I expected, but not great if you have heavy luggage or are disabled.
- A few issues with my room - the overhead lights didn't work and it was facing the main road, which isn't a problem, but the old-style windows let lots of noise in. The blinds also let in a lot of light down the sides, right onto your face in the bed, so not very comfortable. The door to the room was also not very soundproof.
- No air con, which normally wouldn't be an issue in the UK, but it was a warm few days when I stayed, and it was not pleasant.
- Very small gripe but usually with overhead showers that don't have a detachable option, the hotel provides a shower cap for people like me with long hair, which they didn't in this instance.
- Really struggled to connect to the Wi-Fi - didn't seem to work for me, so I gave up.
- Didn't feel like good value for money due to the above, but maybe it's because prices in this area are high, I'm not sure as I was recommended to book here by a colleague.

Location was great, good welcome and friendly staff. Big hearty breakfast.
No Parking! Poor room cleaning (waste bin not cleaned, no refill of tea/coffee/ no replacement of body wash/ no removal of spent toilet roll tube). Specifically, our room key was "lost" by reception and although given a replacement we question the security.
No No wardrobe, no hair dryer, no storage

The rooms were well decorated and clean, and the food available in the restaurant was tasty. The staff were friendly and there were nice touches like complimentary gin in the sleeping areas. It is located on a lovely high street.
The pillows were very uncomfortable.
4.3
Breakfast was excellent
Shower dripping and staff has placed a towel in the tray to reduce noise! Mattress was very hard.

Location for my visit was perfect.
The staff were really friendly.
Decor and surroundings in this very old and historical hotel very pleasant
No real provision for my dietary requests- I suffer colitis.
4.3
old fashioned coaching inn with good restaurant and staff service
it was all very nice

I thought the rooms were done beautifully and the staff very friendly. The whisky touch was a great addition. And breakfast was excellent.
The only thing I didn’t like - and this has nothing to do with the hotel - was the traffic in the village. It’s such a shame these beautiful villages have become do anyway by cars.

Great value for money. Lovely extra touches (e.g. complementary sloe gin!).
Nothing.
4.3
Outstanding. The room was clean & spacious. The bed comfortable. Shower fantastic. Breakfast was outstanding and all staff welcoming & accomodating.

Friendly staff, good room
No parking - I didn't realise that when I booked

Excellent staff, gorgeous room! Loved it
4.3
nice old building. lovely staff who were all very helpful.
parking difficult..no car park..had to park in the road with a 2 hour limit. All electrical sockets in the room were on floor level , needed to get down on your knees to plug in kettle. light and fan in shower not working. This was a premium room so glad we were not in a standard room. Only one fire was lit in the bar and it was minus 1 outside. Food was very good but there was a very hefty service charge.
4.3
beautiful in and out, great location and food
4.3
Both evening meal and breakfast were very good.
Nothing.

It was a warm , friendly pub with lots of character. The pub was very old but the restaurant area was very modern .
