The bed was extremely bad and uncomfortable. We saw a person of the hotel only in the morning that we left after staying for two nights even though we arrived at 1830 on the second day. When we placed an order, it was not written that it is in the third floor (or bell boy…). Asked to replace room ahead but no reply.

Very good location: absolutely in the centre, but in a courtyard, not directly on the street, so it is quiet - and I am ultra sensitive about this. And easy to find parking place on the street (a large square), and it is free from 19 to 9.30. 2 taps and tub in the bathroom. Spacious bathroom, with lots of room to pack. Free water in the room (2 little bottles). For me the most comfortable pillow in our 8 days trip - but for my pair it was the worst, so it is matter of taste :). Door between the bed and the corridor door – still many hotels forget it, while it has strong impact on noise isolation! Separate wc - however it is very smelly (but there is toilet freshener). Tea making facility in the room. Separate wardrobe room - although it is moderately useful. The 2 mannequins are also good.
The door handles are very noisy - I suppose it would not be a huge amount to fix it. The parquet also creaks a lot. At breakfast there is no egg, sausage; only ham - imho it is correct for this price, but if you would like to eat a lot, it will be disappointing. It is very cozy that there is candle handler - but it would be worth something, if there would candlestick (I suppose it is not allowed because of fire protection reasons).

The manager or proprietor, “David”, was very communicative and easy to work with, even with a bit of a language barrier. We truly appreciate that. We had to arrive quite late and he gave excellent instructions on how to enter the property and retrieve the key. Our quarters, the “Yellow Room”, were beautiful and very spacious. The stone staircase, while gorgeous, is a bit hard to maneuver if you have a lot of luggage, as we did. If you travel light, you should have no trouble. There were chips and sodas available if we wanted them. The breakfast was very good. Next time in Caen, I hope we can stay for more than one night.
The mattress in the twin room was a bit too hard for me but the queen mattress in the other room was fine. The bathroom was just a tiny bit slippery. I definitely need handrails.

The room was large, clean and had everything we needed. They had even taken care to have a refillable jug for water and 'eco' toilet paper. Great central location too.
No-one there on arrival and no message was left for us. When I called it turned out that the person that was supposed to welcome us had to leave. Luckily we managed to find the code sent to us by email and navigate the key box etc.
I think it's unsafe from a fire point of view to have the door to the outside of the property locked, so you need a key to get out.
They were using peat in their garden compost which is very bad environmentally.
They sent us a list of restaurants but none of them were open the night we were staying there.

Great location good restaurant and friendly people in a wonderful setting
The breakfast was awful. Very poor selection with uncooked pastries. Very unlike France in general especially as they manage a very good restaurant
Our only complaint.

Everything! Beautifully decorated, great location. Bars and restaurants close by. Gustave restaurant highly recommended
The stay was perfect for our needs therefore nothing to dislike

Brilliant hotel the hosts couldn't have been more helpful. Great position ideal for local bars etc right on the door step.
Would highly recommend it
The parking is a bit of an issue as it is street parking and very busy area.

The breakfast was good.
We were unaware that this is more of a B&B, and there was no staff to assist us with our bags or check-in in person, it had to be done all via email and my phone was almost dead. Also our room was on the first floor (we forgot that in Europe that means SECOND FLOOR), and my husband is disabled. It was a challenge to find parking and get the luggage into the room on my own. Also, there was a mini bar with drinks, but no can opener. Plusses: quiet and nice interior patio area.

Position and close to restaurant and bars.
Nowhere to relax. Either the courtyard or the bedroom.

The room was exceptionally large, very well furnished and exceptionally clean. The rest of the building was finished to a similar standard. Any queries were answered by the staff, and when we asked if fresh milk was available, a jug was provided on the same day. The wifi connection also did not work but again this was fixed on the same day.
The lack of dedicated parking facilities is a potential downside. However on all three nights we stayed we were able to park on the road directly outside the property, and as it is free between 19.30 and 09.30 this did not cause a problem.

Even though the room was a bit tiny, it really didn’t feel that way. The way the furniture is layed out really helps.
Everything was super beautiful and we had an amazing time in this place.
The bathroom was a bit run down - our soap dispenser didn’t properly work.
Also, for a person of 1.85m the ceiling can be a bit low, especially in the bathroom (slanted rooftop ceiling)

beautiful and clean place in the city center.

Breakfasts were great, plenty of choice snd good quality. We liked the building and decor.
It was very well thought out there was nothing we didn't like.

hidden in a quiet courtyard. beautiful rooms each unique. very friendly host.
it is very hidden so it was a little challenging to find the place initially.

This hotel was charming and clean. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome! The building is beautiful and like a picture out of a story book. Breakfast was fresh and delicious.
The 3rd story room we had would be a problem if you are taller people. Bathroom was very small and had low ceilings. Also staff was not there late as we are used to with other hotels so hard to ask about parking, restaurants to eat at etc.

Wonderful place in an actual historic hotel from the 18th century. The "White Room" is in the attic and there's no elevator, so be careful if you have heavy luggages. The facilities are eco conscious if it is important for you.
There was an issue with key delivery and it wasn't possible to lock the door without it. It didn't prevent access to the room but it was a bit "unsafe".
Location is great if you come by train, otherwise parking is complicated.
Breakfast is a bit simple: coffee, juice, fruits, yogurt, some bread, cheese and ham, all displayed on a small cupboard.

We loved the friendly staff as well as the rooms - we stayed with three others (couple and a single) we had the vert room and the others had the blanch and rose rooms at the top of the house. I would request a lower room if you have a lot of heavy luggage as the access to the rooms is via an ancient stone spiral staircase, which is part of the charm of such an old and beautiful building. Our room was huge with a walk in robe, and separate toilet. The bathroom is very well appointed. Our breakfast was only Continental, which was fine, beautiful artisan breads, locally sourced yogurts as well as sliced meats and fromage. I don’t eat carbs so found this limiting as I usually start my day with bacon and an egg, it just meant I got to enjoy a bigger lunch…. Overall we would totally stay again, access to and from the Gare is under €10 for a taxi, or if you don’t have much luggage the tram stops at Chateau and you can walk about 400meters to the Inn, it’s a really easy walk. There is lots to see and do and if you are there on Friday morning the markets are a must see.
There was not much not to like, it’s not a complaint, but a hot breakfast would be great….

We were given the beautiful rose room at the top of the chateau. The gentleman that greeted us was so welcoming & enthusiastic.
There was no lift, which 3 fights up a stone spiral staircase with suitcases was.. not insurmountable but was a little dismaying. This is something that is not unique to this property in Europe.. so all good. However the gentleman just hoiked my case & carried it up for me. I was surprised & greatful.
He also gave us great info on places to eat etc.
I couldn't get the shower much more than warm.. but that may well have been aussie operator error

Cute place with history in it
We were really excited about the breakfast option and the look of the whole place. The place was pretty but the photos online are definitely stylized and it didn’t necessarily feel worth the price when most of the town was closed during our stay

I like rooms here. we are family of 5 and we rent 2 rooms. The hospitality of host team is great. Breakfast is very good. Location is perfect to reach every things thus it is quite for relaxation.
The room on the top floor has a storage inside and I feel not secure because staff might have to come to the room to get supply during my stay. However, staffs are friendly and helpful.

Beautiful historic property walking distance to wonderful sights in Caen. Rooms carefully curated, large and comfortable. nice breakfast. friendly staff.
Water pressure in the shower wasn’t great. maybe different shower heads could help?

More of a boutique hotel than a Chambre Hôte. We let ourselves in on a sunday evening and left early on Monday. No staff contact. Looks good
Would have preferred to have been met by a person
